Haikyuu!! The Apocalypse
Ushijima wakatoshi, 35,now married and with 2 kids, one being a 7 year old and another being a 5 year old. Being married to Yachi Hitoka, now Uahijima Hitoka, a slender women who is no more than 33, an ex- manager of the karasuno volleyball team which was once one of the opposing teams when he was a teenager had no less of a static yet peaceful relationship with his family. He couldn’t move away from them whenever he got time. Wakatoshi, still a part of the Schweiden Adlers, a professional team in the top division of Japan's V.League, sometimes ad to travel but mainly to participate in volleyball matches.
No one would believe if told that the stone cold wakatoshi is a attention seeking pup from his wife and his kids. Life was perfect and full of flowers for the family being like the rest of the families out there but a little more merrier.
Hitoka being a famous design while her husband being a famous volleyball player and the kids being like what anyone would want theirs to be like. It looked like they had everything from the outside until...... their family, the perfect picturesque family of theirs started having cracks when Ushijima was cleaning his wedding room and found a set of papers which disturbs him pretty badly.
Hitoka was rushing home from work as she received a call from her daughter, the youngest’s teacher asking her out to talk about her daughter’s studies. She quickly agreed without a care in the world since this was about her daughter who was one of the most important part of her existence.
Ushijima, worried about his wife not returning home, since it was already so late and would at least call her son or him to let them know if she’s running late, well, usually, at least.
He rushed out of the house and ran around aimlessly, panting and worried that she might be in danger. He soon spotted her talking with his daughter’s kindergarten teacher and was relieved to see her safe and sound. He went inside the coffee shop where his wife and the teacher were sitting and gave a pleasant surprise to his wife while the teacher was not as much pleased.
“What are you doing here Toshi?” Hitoka asked with an innocent blink and a super cute head tilt. Wakatoshi’s face was as red as Nekoma’s uniform and Hitoka chuckled on seeing this.
The teacher who was witnessing this was a bit disappointed but then tried staying optimistic and smiled through his pain. They started having a conversation about how Rin ( Hitoka’s daughter) was with her studies and about the upcoming sports festival.
“She is an excellent student.” Said the teacher.
Wakatoshi’s face was fully covered in a proud smug as he was the one who teaches his daughter and helps both Rei and Rin with their studies, homework and anything related to education.
Hitoka just chuckles a bit but inside was filled with pride as her husband did a great job in helping her raise their kids and also with her personal and career life.
There was only one thought that came to Hitoka’s mind whenever asked about her husband ‘a perfectionist like her, one of her biggest supporters and believers, a slightly grumpy and awkward person around others with their family as an exception.
The happy conversation between the proud father, a shy yet equally proud mother and the heart- broken teacher lasted for a couple of minutes before a loud noise interrupted them.
A fire had started in the café they were at.
Wakatoshi noticed this and pulled Hitoka to move out and away from there while the teacher followed them quite closely.
Hitoka, while being pulled out witnessed a quite disturbing site, a man biting and eating a worker alive!
Hitoka gasped at that sight and ran out racing Wakatoshi and threw up pretty badly. Wakatoshi witnessing this, patted her back and checked if she doing fine.
“Th....here....inside.......gasp.....a person.....gasp.......was..... eating....eating....gasp....” she was gasping in between almost every word before Wakatoshi stopped her.
The teacher interrupted them not long after and shouted “a person was eating a worker alive!! We got to run!”
Wakatoshi couldn’t believe it and ran inside to check but was shook by the same sight. The sight was hideous even for him to see so stepped forward to stop the person chewing on the worker but was stopped by Oikawa Tooru.
After years of chasing behind Oikawa Tooru, Wakatoshi and Tooru somehow started getting along at one point of time which was possible mainly because of Iwaizumi Hajime, Oikawa’s boyfriend.
Hajime followed Oikawa and stopped Wakatoshi since he had faith in only 3 things that belongs to Oikawa.
His love for Hajime
His sets and serves ( including his leadership skills) and finally
His instincts about sci-fi stuffs
“It’s best if we rush back and pack everything and leave” Hajime said calmly.
“Huh? Why?” Wakatoshi responded with an unusual look.
“Cowjima! Trust me on this. It’s the beginning of an apocalypse I tell you. An apocalypse!” Oikawa retorted back while forcing out the word apocalypse at the end.
Wakatoshi, though confused, did what the pair told him to do since it was the calm, collected and the always- analysing- the - situation- guy agreeing with his crazy boyfriend at this weird moment.
“Then I will meet you guys here in an hour then” Wakatoshi said grabbing Hitoka and rushing to her car.
By the time they reach the car, the waiter wasn’t the only person getting chewed on. Many others were getting eaten alive and Hitoka couldn’t bear the sight. But Wakatoshi somehow managed to gain his composure amidst this chaos and stepped on the accelerator. (The teacher was with them too)
After reaching their house, the Ushijimas quickly grabbed their kids and everything necessary,I.e., all the food they have, keeping the clothes bare minimum restricting it to only 4 sets per person and their electronics to keep their kids busy.
Wakatoshi loaded his car with the stuffs while Hitoka settled their kids in her car and also took some solar panels and all of the things necessary for it in the back of her car.
Her son was sitting in the passenger’s seat next to her while her daughter was in Wakatoshi’s car with him and so was the teacher.
The teacher took care of Rin who was sobbing quietly due to them being in a rush. Wakatoshi was a bit uncomfortable with the entire apocalypse- nearing-them situation.
They soon drove over to Hinata’s place where the rest of their friends and relatives were gathered with their respective belongings loaded in their cars with some of them carrying solar panels and the required tools to install it with them in their trucks, minivans and cars.
Some carried camping sets with them enough for the entire group to go with for a couple of years.
Most of them thought it was joke played by their teammates/ relatives until they were all gathered at one place and met with a zombie ripping off a person’s eyeball right in front of them. They were all left shook and grossed out by the sight of the zombie eating out the now- dug eyeball. This was especially true for Sakusa Kiyomi, who was a clean freak. His boyfriend, Atsumu, helped him and so did his family.
No one dared to get out of their vehicles until the zombie was gone, at least was out of their sight.
After waiting for about half an hour, Tooru and Hajime joined the group with their belongings.
Kita found that no one was carrying any fuel with then but they have 50+ vehicles now which doesn’t have enough fuel.
So everyone regrouped and tried fitting into the bigger vehicles so that they could carry more supplies.
Wakatoshi had to use his high tech caravan and so were his teammates, since they all bought it together.
Wakatoshi quickly loaded the supplies of him and his family into it while Hitoka helped fixing the solar panels to the roof of their van while teaching other how to do the same.
Kita, Aran, Sugawara, Sawamura, and other smart people helped her with that while the dumber ones helped with loading stuffs into the vans.
The kids and the elderly were on a lookout with the pets.
Thankfully no zombie was around until they finished attaching the solar panels and loading their goods properly into the vans.
As soon as everything was done, the now used vehicles number came down to half of what was originally there. The kids were first allowed to go with their parents followed by the pets and then by the elderly.
As there weren’t that many pets and kids, it didn’t occupy much space.
The rest of the empty spaces were filled with fuel, soil and seeds which were entirely Kita’s idea since who knows what will happen during an apocalypse.
“ Wakatoshi, we can do one thing and let the vans with kids and pets take out soil and seeds along with how much ever water is available. The rest will carry fuel and required amount of water until we reach a safe place. Is that fine with you.” Kita suggested and questioned at the same time.
Wakatoshi just nodded.
Some vans having not so much fuel but with a lot of space left in them carried tap water for the plants to grow since there is a high possibility that the water sources might get polluted.
The kids were made to go with their parents and were made to sit in the first 15 vans and the pets were with them.
The rest were with the elderly.
Everyone helped in retrieving the fuel from the now- left vehicles.
“Now all that is left is to go purchase the soil and the seeds to go along to last for a long time.” Kita said deep in thought.
“Before that we need to find a place to settle in” Sawamura interrupted. Wakatoshi agreed and so did everyone else.
Oikawa suggested going to the house they all purchased together in the outskirts.
“But wouldn’t it take a long time just to reach there?” Hitoka retaliated.
“But that is the safest option we have for now” Oikawa said.
“Then let’s do this. We will split into 2 groups first. 1 group will stay here while the other group will elderly and fuel will go and settle in the community complex.” Sugawara said.
“Yes. We can do that” Aran agreed with a pause before continuing “however, will it be enough for all of us?” He stopped.
“ yes it will be. More than enough for all of us. If we want, we can also ask our friends from Tokyo to come there and live with us. We don’t lack money to buy at least half of the outskirts and we definitely don’t lack space” Kita said statically.
“Will it be clean?” Sakusa asked.
Everyone gave him a glare and turned to look at Atsumu to ask him to manage his boyfriend.
Atsumu sighed.
“Omi Omi, we can’t worry about that now since we have other more important things to worry about. Let’s do one thing then. How about we go there first and check the surrounding for any refugees or zombies and then clean our personal space?” Atsumu said with Sakusa nodding in agreement.
“Then it’s settled! We will wait for you guys here while half of you will go and unpack everything and empty your vans and only the drivers will come back. Is that right?” Suga asked with an angelic smile though nervous himself.
Sawamura noticing his boyfriend shaking a bit helped him and decided to make him take care of the kids there.
As soon as the first half departed, the kids started running around without a care in the world while the remaining adults took it upon themselves to contact their acquaintances and let them know about it. They asked them to start stacking food drinking water tap water and seeds and stay locked up inside their house until the situation calms down entirely.
The people at the other end did the same as soon as they received a panicking call.
“It was quite a flunk that we all bought houses tat the same place after listening to Hinata. It’s good in a way I guess” Wakatoshi said.
“Yes. It’s a good thing that we have enough space and can be together with each other and support ourselves” Kagayama added.
Hitoka came in between and asked Wakatoshi about Rin who was not with the other kids.
Wakatoshi, now panicked, started searching for Rin while Hitoka went to ask Rei about his sister. Kagayama also panicked as his niece was now missing and so the volleyball players alone went to search nearby as she couldn’t have gone far from them since she is just a child.
Hitoka, now all panicked, held Rei a bit too tight and prayed that nothing should have happened to Rin.
Rei looked up at his concerned mom worried.
“Nothing will happen to her Hitoka. Stop overthinking!!” Suga shouted while showing her his motherly side.
“I hope so......” Hitoka trembled.
Suga sighed and made her sit and gave her a drink to let her calm herself for a minute and think of all the places her daughter could wander off to. Hitoka was deep in thought then suddenly said “a park...”
“Huh?” Suga questioned.
“A park! That’s it! She must have run to a park!” Hitoka jumped and ran over to Hinata with Rei in her arms.
“Hinata....huff.... a park!....is there one nearby?” Hitoka asked a little breathlessly.
“Huh? Oh yes there is one. 2 minutes away from here.” Hinata replied.
“Where” Hitoka asked now a little aggressively.
“Just walk straightened you will get there in no time” Hinata replied.
Hitoka handed Rei to Hinata and asked him to not let go of Rei’s hand until she’s back and ran off to the park.
Nearing the park, she could hear Rin crying out aloud.
“Moommmyyyy.....” Rin cried out aloud in tears.
Hitoka ran as quickly as possible and hugged her 5 year old daughter tightly with her eyes all teared up.
“Why did you run away all alone Rin?” Hitoka questioned a little angrily.
“I just wanted to have some fun” Rin replied innocently.
“Rin! This is not the time to play around! You could have died! Do you know that?” Hitoka shouted at her daughter for the first time in her life.
Rin was tears and started crying while Hitoka picked her up and walked in the direction everyone was gathered at.
Everything was going smoothly until the mother- daughter pair encountered a zombie a couple steps away from the group.
Rin gasped and started crying again but this time around Hitoka shut her up with her hand on Rin’s mouth. The zombie didn’t seem to move forward or backward and absolutely did not even try to attack them. Hitoka sweated a bit but did not dare to move in order to save her daughter and herself.
No one from the group made any noise and the zombie was looking around. Hitoka noticed this and threw a stone in the direction on the river which was to her left.
The zombie, seemingly noticed the sound of the stone dropping into the water rushed towards it. Hitoka slowly tip toed towards the group.
“I found Rin” Hitoka announced.
Everyone were happy and gathered around to see if Rin or Hitoka were injured in any way.
Wakatoshi approached them with a frown quite angry at Rin for running away and started scolding her pretty badly.
“Toshi. It’s alright. We found her and I already gave her an earful. We have other stuffs to do. So let it go she won’t do it again” Hitoka interrupted the angry father scolding his daughter.
He hugged his wife and daughter once and went on ahead to carry Rin for the rest of the journey while Hitoka went to bring Rei back from Hinata and thanked him for taking care of her son until she returned.
“No probs. You are my friend and he is my nephew after all! I am glad that Rin is back too!” Hinata said excitedly. Hitoka just smiled while holding Rei hand tightly.
The leftover half of the group gathered around while Hitoka announced what she had discovered about the Zombies. Everyone were pretty shocked at this but also relieved that they can get away from this.
Wakatoshi, Suga, Suna, Osamu (Atsumu’s twin)and Akaashi went to the nearby convenience store to get baby stuffs from there.
They got some baby carriers, some prams, some toys and whatever packed products they could find so that it can last for a long time.
As soon as they returned they distributed the baby products to those with kids.

(the youngest being 3 years old and the oldest being 12) (20 kids in total and 30 pets)
After getting stuffs sorted, the other half of the group returned with their empty van (leaving Sakusa to clean his and Atsumu’s place) in approximately about 4 hours with an half an hour ride to and fro.
They all split into 3 different groups with the first group with their empty vans to go buy the soil while the second group with half empty space to help the first and also get some soil while the last group going to the outskirts and settling down and fixing some solar panels to help them get electricity if they ever get a power cut.
The first and the second group (group A and B respectively )took some dogs with them to help keep a look out while the rest of the dogs and the pets were with the 3rd group (group C).
Hitoka and the kids went with the relatives and joined the 3rd group while Wakatoshi was a part of the 2nd group along with all the volleyball players being a part of either the first or the second group.
Hitoka and the others of the 3rd group reached the outskirts without any obstacles and again split into 2 (solar panel and cleaner respectively). The solar panels group helping with solar panels installation with the cleaner group helping in fixing the sheds of the swimming pool and turning off any source of water bodies that could enter it.
The cleaner group also filled several barrels with tap water and stored in the terrace. With the barrels closed of course. The balconies were filled with drinking water stored in barrels and bottles in the first 2 buildings. The balconies of the 3rd building was filled with tap waters. The parking lots were safely shedded as it was an underground parking lot. The swimming pools (4) were indoor pools so they did not have the worry of that being affected by anything other than the water bodies.
The water fountains were checked thoroughly and any possibility of water incoming was blocked. The empty vans were also stored with drinking water at that moment.
(NOTES: the entire storing thing took place in an apartment complex in the outskirts.)
