In the Arantes mansion, the cleaning was coming to an end.

*LIAM* - Damn, it's already 4:55 PM, I only have 5 minutes left.

Liam rushed to finish up; he just needed to stow the cleaning supplies in the car and lock up the house.

Evan would arrive at 5:15 PM, he was always punctual.

Liam finally finished everything, got into his car and let out a deep sigh of relief before starting the engine and driving off.

As he passed through the immense gate, he spotted a black Maserati heading his way. He tried to see who was inside, but it was in vain because the windows were tinted.

He then continued on his way home.

Evan entered the house and immediately noticed the thorough cleaning. He inspected all the rooms, feeling pleased and satisfied with the care that had been taken.

Liam tapped lightly on the steering wheel, pleased with the notification of a transfer to his account.

*LIAM* - Wow, he paid 100 more, I hope I get to clean this house again. Haha.

Steven was getting ready for another night of work at the club. He put on a beautiful short dress and some sophisticated accessories; his perfume was subtle, and his makeup was light.

*STEVEN* - I wonder if he'll come today?

Steven always looked forward to seeing him, but the alpha never guaranteed his attendance, even though he came every day.

The restless omega paced back and forth; he was nervous and knew this wasn't usual. His heartbeat was erratic, his hands cold and sweaty, and for some reason, his legs felt weak.

*STEVEN* - Please, be out there for me... ~Roman~

It was hard for him to even believe he was anxious to have the older man waiting for him.

Steven then walked out into the grand hall, where there was a large circular sofa. Some clients and their companions occupied it, and Roman was also there.

Upon entering the large room, Steven saw the alpha sitting with someone on his lap, kissing him. Tears filled his eyes immediately; Steven couldn't comprehend this feeling, but the urge to cry was undeniable.

*STEVEN* - Did he pay for someone else? 🥺

A knot formed in his throat at the sight before him; the alpha was kissing the smaller person and squeezing his thighs.

Steven tried to hold himself together, but it was impossible to keep the tears at bay, and a few rolled down his face. Roman noticed the smaller figure standing there, frozen, and removed the beta from his lap.

Looking into the alpha's eyes intensified Steven's tears. He turned and headed back to the dressing room, where he took a moment to clear his mind, dry his tears, and retouch his makeup. After downing a bit of whiskey, he returned to the grand hall.

Roman spotted him and flashed a bright smile.

*ROMAN* - Hello, my goddess.

*STEVEN* - Hi, who will be my companion tonight?

Roman smiled and told him it would be him. Steven swallowed hard and approached with a forced smile.

*STEVEN* - So, do you want to stay here and have a drink, or do you want to go straight to the main event?

Roman gave a cheeky smile and pulled the smaller one closer, bringing their bodies together.

*ROMAN* - You seem to be in quite a hurry today.

Steven's heart was heavy, but he didn't complain, knowing he had no right to do so. He understood Roman's feelings; he had been his client for many months. Roman always paid for the smaller one, and they spent the night together in the VIP room, talking as well. Roman adored his time with him, yet Steven had never given him a glimmer of hope. Whenever he suggested going out on a date, Steven always found an excuse.

In the VIP room, they were alone.

Roman knew his omega very well; he understood what that gloomy expression meant and wanted some explanation for it. If he felt nothing for him, why was he so sad?

Steven sat on the bed, downcast, as Roman approached him and asked,

*ROMAN* - Why are you so sad?

*STEVEN* - It's nothing; we're not here to talk about my sorrows, are we?

That forced smile didn't sit well with Roman; he was familiar with the smiles of that omega and could tell when they were genuine. That one was definitely not one of them.

*ROMAN* - Is it because I was kissing someone else?

Steven swallowed hard and simply lowered his head.

*ROMAN* - I don't understand why it bothers you if you don't feel anything for me.

*STEVEN* - I just don't know what happened to me; it must be because I’ve never seen you with anyone else, but don’t worry, I’m fine.

*ROMAN* - Steven, I love you.

*STEVEN* - You love me? You were just kissing someone else; how can you say that?

Tears return to his face once more, and Roman cups his face in both hands.

*ROMAN* - So accept going on a date with me.

*STEVEN* - Why don't you invite that jerk out instead?

*ROMAN* - Because the one I love is you. If I kissed someone else, it’s because you didn’t want anything with me. I want to forget you, but I can't; I love you, Steven.

Steven pulls the alpha in, kissing him passionately.

*STEVEN* - Never kiss anyone else again, you idiot.

Roman smiles, knowing what that behavior meant. Finally, Steven had accepted him.
