As Larissa embraced her parents, Demir couldn't help but gaze at the scene, drawn to join in the warm family hug. Larissa looked at him in astonishment, not knowing who he was. Her mother quickly grasped the situation and clarified for Larissa that he was her brother, Demir.
"He's my brother?" Larissa, rising from her bed and approaching Demir. - "I've seen you!" she exclaimed as she touched Demir's face.
"Do you remember me, little sister?" Demir, his voice catching and tears streaking down his cheek.
"I've seen you many times; I thought it was just my imagination." Larissa.
"Maybe those were memories, daughter, but don't worry, we'll get you the best treatment so you can readjust your life." Larissa's father.
"I think we should take it slow, you know, I don't want to rush." Larissa.
"Well, daughter, you know how happy we are that you're well and that you're here with us. You can come back home, or if you prefer, go to your brother's house; we don't mind moving there." Larissa's father.
"Moving? Don't you think that's too quick?" Larissa
"Quick? We're your family; you need to come back home." Larissa's father.
"This is too fast, and I have my life, my job." Larissa
"Job? Do you think that's a job?" Larissa's father.
"Look! I won't disrespect you, but you must respect me and my decisions. I am a free person, and while I want to get to know you and be with you, I won't leave so quickly without even knowing you." Larissa, arguing with her father.
Both her mother and Demir were stunned, as Larissa had never spoken that way, at least not the Larissa they knew.
Demir tried to ease the situation.
"Dad, it's too sudden; a lot of time has passed, and she needs to process everything. We could visit her, and little by little, when she feels comfortable, she could come to live with us. If that's what she wishes, right?" Demir, with a soothing voice.
Reluctantly, they agreed, understanding that Larissa was not yet ready to go back home and to be the same as she was before. Yet it was obvious at a glance that she wasn't the same girl who had been lost two years ago.
"You should give us your address and phone number so we don't lose touch. I could take a few days off to keep you company. Besides, you need security; I won't let anything else happen to you." Demir.
"I already have security; don't worry." Larissa.
"Who's your security? I don't want anything to happen to you, sister, not anymore. I want to take care of you." Demir.
"Nothing will happen to me; I have someone to look after me." Larissa.
"Someone? Who?" Demir, puzzled.
"The security my manager provides." Larissa, a bit nervous since she didn't want to reveal Santiago's existence.
"Could you stay with me tonight?" Larissa to Demir.
"Of course! How could I not?" Demir, very pleased by the invitation.
"I'd like you to tell me stories about us or situations we've shared." Larissa.
"It would be my pleasure. There's so much I want to tell you." Demir
And so, as the hours went by, Demir recounted adventure after adventure, demonstrating the affection and bond that they shared.
