Episode 18

All became silent in the dressing room, yet Demir did not arrive by himself; his entire family was behind him, jostling to enter. Amid the quiet, the dancers turned their gaze to the right where Larissa slowly emerged from the bathroom. Everyone was utterly astonished, unable to believe what they were seeing. Larissa, whom they had searched for so long, was now right before their eyes.

"What do you need?" Larissa addressed Demir, displaying no hint of emotion.

"Larissa!" Demir exclaimed, but as he moved to embrace her, Larissa quickly placed her hand on his chest to prevent the hug, leaving Demir somewhat bemused.

"Now, where is security? How is it possible for all these people to get into the dressing room?" Larissa voiced, visibly upset.

"Larissa, what's wrong with you?" Demir asked, tears in his eyes.

"Larissa, my daughter, why are you dressed like this?" her mother inquired, attempting to touch her, but Larissa stepped back, recognizing many familiar faces.

"What? Who are you people?" Larissa inquired, clearly perplexed.

"Do you truly not remember us, Larissa? Look at me and tell me you don't know who I am!" Doruk retorted.

"No! I... I don't know who you are!" At that moment, Larissa looked up and saw Demir's face clearly—the young man she had dreamt of—and suddenly, images began to flash in her head, memories of Demir started to return. Everything started spinning.

"I am your brother, Larissa! How can you not remember me?" Demir, amidst tears and sobs, grabbed hold of her arms, and as the dizziness became overwhelming and the voices around her grew distant, Larissa collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

As they tried to revive her on the floor to no avail, it was decided to rush Larissa to the hospital. Everyone climbed into their cars to transport Larissa, but Becky was the only one left immobilized. Deciding to act, she opened Demir's car door and slipped into a seat. All the passengers were dumbfounded as they watched her.

"Can you explain what on earth you are doing in my car?" Demir interrogated, visibly infuriated.

"She's my friend, and I won't let you just take her away like that! So, if you’re taking her, you're taking me too," Becky spouted, crossing her arms in a pretense of anger.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Larissa was swiftly placed on a stretcher and taken to a room for examination, where her father and Doruk entered to remain by her side.

Upon closing the door, Demir turned to Becky, confronting her.

"And who might you be? You kidnapped my sister. What were you planning to do with her, you curse!" Demir advanced toward Becky, cornering her against the wall.

"Hey! You be quiet! Who do you think you are to talk to me like that, huh? I helped Larissa. Where were you all this time, unable to find her?" Becky gesticulated wildly, pushing Demir back.

Demir was incredulous, faced with a woman who dared challenge him.

"Ah, nothing! I’ve been searching for my sister while everyone else thought she was dead. And you helped her do what, become a prostitute? Is that it?" Demir challenged.

"Larissa is no prostitute; she's been performing in our group. You're probably just sexist, that's why you can't tell the difference," Becky shot back.

"Enough!" Larissa's mother's shout cut through, silencing everyone.

"How did you come across my daughter? Please, can we sit down like rational adults and discuss what happened with her?" Larissa's mother requested.

Becky glanced at Demir with a mocking expression and settled down to relay her account.

"Look, ma'am, I didn't find Larissa; it was my father who discovered her. He's a doctor living on the island and told me he found Larissa floating in the river. He rescued her because she had suffered a severe head injury that nearly killed her," Becky explained.

"And how do we know you're telling the truth?" Demir pressed.

"I have no need to lie to anyone, and certainly not about this. Later, you can ask Larissa yourself," Becky said.

"Alright, girl, how did she wake up if she was so ill?" Larissa's mother inquired.

"My father has his own clinic at home because he's faced numerous emergencies throughout his life, and the islanders always turned to him for help. So, he healed her. How? I don't know, I'm not a doctor," Becky answered.

"And you live with your father?" asked Larissa's mother.

"No, I visit every week or fortnight to help him out because my mother travels a lot. He asked me to help her look for her family, but she barely remembered anything," Becky disclosed.

"And why didn't you take her to the police? That would have been so simple; we could have been reunited with her a long time ago instead of going through this anguish," Demir argued.

"I couldn't go to the police," Becky replied.

"Why not? Because you're lying, right?" Demir interjected before Becky could finish.

"No, idiot! Because she was convinced that policemen had hurt her. She remembered their uniforms and insisted they wanted to kill her," Becky retorted.

Demir was taken aback, as what he had believed all along was now confirmed.

"Did she tell you this?" Demir asked.

"Of course! I have no reason to fabricate anything," Becky affirmed.

"What else did she remember?" Demir inquired.

"I don't know; you should talk to her," Becky suggested.

"Does she remember the faces of her abductors?" Demir prodded.

"She says she sees them in her dreams every night, still haunted by what they did to her," Becky revealed.

"Okay, I'll talk to her," Demir resolved, starting toward Larissa's room.

Becky grabbed his arm to stop him.

"Are you crazy? Don't you see she's only just starting to recognize you all, and now you want to question her about that? Wait a bit. Look at her, be thankful to God that she's alive, and then see how things unfold. It's not the time now," Becky implored, locking eyes with Demir.

Demir shrugged off her grasp and proceeded to Larissa's room, his glare defying Becky's cautioning words.
