Demir:
It was a Saturday morning when I heard someone pounding on the door of my apartment. I quickly got up, stormed over to the front door, and when I opened it, who was there? My cousin Doruk. I couldn't believe it; it had been a while since we'd seen each other, and it was a joyous surprise.
"Come in, cousin, please," Demir said, opening his arms for a hug.
"I was about to knock your door down! I thought you were with a girl," Doruk joked.
"No, Doruk, I decided to take a break from women this weekend," Demir replied, heading to the kitchen. "Tea? Coffee?"
"A coffee, cousin. Do you have anything to eat?" Doruk asked.
"No, but I'll go buy something right now," Demir said.
"Ha! Look what I have here," Doruk said with a chuckle, pulling out a bag full of pastries from his backpack as a wide smile spread across his face. "I figured you'd be asleep, so I stopped by the bakery."
"Thanks. You must be really tired recently with all the wedding planning. Why didn't you tell me you were getting married?" Demir asked, handing Doruk a cup of coffee and sitting down almost in front of him.
"Well, I know you're still upset about Larissa. I miss our little cousin too, but you've got to try and get past this, you know? I'm sure she'd want to see you happy from wherever she is. And that made it hard to say – I didn't know how you'd take it. When I proposed to my girlfriend, Larissa's thing happened just days later, and everything was put on hold. It's been two years now, and my girlfriend will kill me," Doruk explained.
"Life goes on, right?" Demir said.
"Yes, cousin, life goes on. You have to let her rest. Besides, I have something to tell you," Doruk confided.
"What is it you want to tell me?" Demir inquired.
"Mmm, well... I'm going to be a father!" Doruk beamed.
"What?! I can't believe it, cousin, congratulations!" Demir jumped out of his chair and hugged Doruk.
"Yes, cousin, I'm very happy, and that's why we need to get married before her belly starts to show. She wants to look good in the photos," Doruk explained.
"Alright, cousin, I'm happy if you're happy, and if this girl makes you happy, you should get married in the eyes of God," Demir agreed.
"Yeah, cousin, she's a wonderful person, works at the hospital with me, and has a big heart," Doruk added.
At that moment, Demir's cell phone began to ring – it was a message. Demir got up from his chair and walked over to the table where his phone was. The big smile on his face suddenly vanished.
"What's wrong, cousin? Did something happen?" Doruk asked.
Demir was in shock; he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Demir, what's going on?" Doruk stood up and approached Demir to glimpse the phone screen, looking very confused.
They looked at each other.
"And that photograph - who sent it?" Doruk asked.
"Demir, am I crazy, or do you see the same thing that I'm seeing?" Demir questioned.
"That girl looks like Larissa. Who sent it to you?" Doruk asked.
"The message reads: 'Saw your post about the missing girl- there’s a girl at a popular club where she sings, and her name is also Larissa. Hope this helps.' - Demir - It's Larissa!! It's Larissa; she's alive; it's her!!!".
"Demir, you don't know for sure; she just looks similar and has the same name. But it could be Larissa," Doruk suggested.
"What if they kidnapped her and are forcing her to be there? I have to find out; I need to know if it's my sister," Demir said, determined.
"Cousin, wait! We'll go together and see if it's her, okay? But together, I won't let you do this alone," Doruk insisted.
"We can't wait until tonight; I can't bear it," Demir admitted.
"Well then, call your team, and we’ll go tonight! I’ll come with you," Doruk said.
"No, I can’t call anyone because someone on my team betrayed me; if I talk now and that girl is my sister, they’ll take her away. Besides, why would you come with a team? Do you know how dangerous that is?" Demir questioned.
"Well, I need some action in my life. Just because I’m a doctor doesn’t mean I have to be boring, right?" Doruk remarked.
"Okay, but we need a plan to go to that place. I can’t handle the anxiety; I’ll die of it," Demir said, pacing back and forth.
"Calm down, cousin," Doruk said, placing a hand on Demir's shoulders. "We’ll find out tonight."
