Episode 4

We loaded her into the car and headed for the river.

We arrived, I opened the trunk of the car, and there she was, wrapped in a bag, naked. I felt such sorrow because I had known her since she was little and really wished things had been different, but life is like that, and today I find myself in this situation, disposing of your lifeless body. I shook my head to stop thinking about what I had done to Larissa, asked for help, and took her body to throw it off the cliff.

The tide was high; it seemed like the river was waiting for us and for her to be submerged in its waters.

We hurled her body, and I could see how she sank.

I stayed for a few minutes waiting for her to surface, but she just disappeared.

I was already in the truck after having ended the life of my partner's killer; now he could rest in peace. I grabbed my cell phone and saw that I had missed calls from Larissa. I was going to call her, but her phone was off, so when I entered the messaging app, I saw that she had left me a message. I play her audio and can hear her desperate, agitated voice, asking for help. Everyone in that truck could hear her voice; they turned to me, who was in shock.

"Where is Larissa?" they asked me.

I saw the location she had left in that message.

"Here's the add-dd-dress," I stammered out.

No words could come out of my mouth, meanwhile, they asked for more cars to head to the location she had indicated.

It was 30 minutes of anguish and desperation until we got there.

Arriving at the site, I could see that there were already police vehicles in place, and at that moment, I thought the worst. I got out of the truck and started to run towards the woods; there, several officers were searching for Larissa, but there was no trace of her. Later we began to find shoes, certainly hers, and following the direction of the shoes, I saw her pink dress; the one she had taken care of, torn and bloody. I fell to the ground on my knees, picking up her dress, and behind me, officers started to restrain me, asking me not to take anything from there. Her underwear was on the ground, and just a meter away, there was a bloodstain that spread out along the path. Gomez approached.

"Was she dragged from here, Demir? Perhaps she's not here!"

"Did that son of a bitch kill my sister? Was she murdered? Tell me the truth, tell me!" I yelled, frantic.

There we found a stone with blood traces; they quickly deduced that was the weapon used to kill my sister.

I sat on the ground and began to sob.

"I abandoned you, my dear sister Larissa, I couldn't save you. I abandoned you, I didn't protect you.

I was to blame for all of this."

I grabbed my gun and put it to my head, wanting to end it all; I couldn't live with the thought of the damage I had caused my sister.

Everyone quickly pounced on me to take the gun away.

"No, no," I screamed, "It's my fault; I don't deserve to live."

"Don't do this, Demir! Don't do it; perhaps your sister is still alive. We have to keep searching. Don't give up," said Deborah, one of my colleagues who always treated me kindly.

I got up from the ground and started the search, asking everyone to help, and so everyone joined me. Dawn came, but there was still no sign of her, and the days passed, but I still couldn't find her.
