An Unusual Practice

"NO!" Amy opened her eyes and gasped. Her forehead was all sweating and her skin was cold. "I CANT BE HERE ANYMORE!" She yelled and hurriedly got off her bed. She rushed outside her room and started running through the ship's hallways.

"AMY!?" She heard a familiar voice. It was Jimmy. He ran towards her and grabbed her arm. "WHERE ARE YOU GOING!?" He asked worriedly. But all she gave him as an answer was a blank stare. "You shouldn't be walking so much, you are still weak!" He stated.

"I need to talk to the captain" She said. Jimmy looked at her in shock. "Jay? why do you wanna talk to him all of a sudden??" He asked.

"Dont ask questions i cant answer, please. Let me go talk to him. It will be quick i promise" Jimmy looked at her and sighed. "But Amy i-"

"FINE! IF YOU WONT LET ME SEE HIM, GET LOST!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. Jimmy had no other choice , he finally agreed and led her towards Jay's room.

Jay was in his room writing some letters that needed to be sent to some pirates officials. It was when he heard a knock on his door. He put the pen aside. "Come in" he said.

He expected it to be Jimmy, but instead he saw someone truly unexpected. "Amy!?" He got up from his seat. "What the hell are you doing here!?" his facial expressions changed as soon as he saw Amy. He looked super pissed.

Jay looked at her, she was still in her sleeping suit, her hairs were all a mess. Her legs were trembling and she was panting.

"I NEED AN ANSWER FROM YOU!" She yelled.

Jay crossed his arms. "why....." She walked slightly towards Jay. "What do you think you are doing?" He asked in a mixed state of anger and shock.

"Why do you dragged me into all this? why?" She cried out. Small drops of tears started forming in the corner of her eyes. But she still kept walking towards Jay, step by step.

"Who are you to question me?" He demanded.

"I EVEN LOST MY NECKLACE BECAUSE OF YOU!" Jay's eyes widened as he heard about the necklace. ( The Necklace!?) he thought.

"WHY DO YOU KEEP GIVING ME WEIRD MEDICINE WHEN I CAN HEAL WITHOUT IT!? WHO AM I? A GUINEA PIG!?" She screamed.

Jay covered his ears. "WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU SO LOUD!?" His said in complete anger.

"YOU ARE A MORON!"

Jay had enough now, he took out his sword and positioned it near Amy's waist. He grabbed her by her arm roughly. "I will kill you" he warned in a low, but scary voice.

Amy moved closer. Jay was taken aback by her brave steps towards him even when he was in the middle of threatening her.

"I HATE YOU! KILL ME ALREADY!"

She cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I..... hate....y.."

"AMY!?"

She fell unconscious but Jay was quick enough to catch her. He looked at her in shock. "who the hell are you?" He whispered. Just then Jimmy ran inside the room.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO HER NOW!?"

Jay kept silent. "What did you do to her Jay!? i told you we cant lose her! our ship-" Jimmy tried to explain but Jay shushed him up.

"I know, take her back to her room" He let go of Amy and went back to his chair.

Jimmy sighed and carefully picked Amy up. "You should control your anger Jay" He advised. "Whatever" Jay leaned back on his chair and closed his eyes.

Morning 8:35 am

"Come on everyone! move your hands!" Jimmy yelled at the swordsmen. "YOU ALL ARE WEAK AS HELL! ITS A SHAME TO HAVE YOU ON THIS SHIP" He then walked towards the ship's wheel where Jay was standing.

"Any information about Hicolès?" Jimmy asked.

"He wrote yesterday. He will be arriving in a few days." Jay replied. "Oh and about last night..." Jay continued.

"She is okay now, i asked her if she remembers anything from last night. She doesnt" Jimmy assured and Jay nodded. "I want you to bring her here right now" Jay ordered.

"Right now? what for?" Jimmy asked in confusion. "She will participate in the sword-training. Starting from today" Jimmy shook Jay's arm. "ARE YOU OKAY!? HOW IS SHE GOING TO!?" he looked at him in disbelief.

"I know she can, Just tell Rebecca to bring her"

Jay smiled slightly and Jimmy left. After a while, Rebecca came outside with Amy. "Good Morning Captain! She is here!" She greeted respectfully.

Jay removed his hands from the ship's wheel and looked at Amy, who still was half-asleep.

"You may leave Rebecca"

"Huh!? where are you going!? NO DONT LEAVE ME ALONE WITH HI-" But before Amy could finish, Rebecca had already left.

(CRAP! WHY DO I HAVE TO FACE THIS IDIOT AGAIN?) She thought.

"You, come here" Jay gestured Amy to come a little closer. She gulped and took a few steps forward. "Wha-What do you want?" She sluttered a bit. He took out his silver sword and handed it to Amy. Her facial expressions went blank and shallow.

"W-whaa-what!?" She hesitated. Jay grabbed her hand and put his sword gently on her palm.

"WHY ARE YOU GIVING ME THIS!?" She gasped. "Why? have you never held a sword before?" He smirked. Amy shook her head.

"Well, It is yours now" He said.

"N-no! absolutely not! what do i need a sword for?!" Jay smiled and took out a silver necklace from his pocket. "Maybe this will change your mind?" He swayed it gently in the air.

Amy's eyes widened when she saw her necklace rolled up in Jay's fingers. "THIS IS MY NECKLACE!!" she gasped. "And you think i dont know that?"

"Give it back! its mine!" She jumped up to get the necklace but Jay extended his arm upwards and she couldn't reach the height.

"Dont try when you already know you cant do it" He chuckled. "I SAID GIVE IT BACK!" She raised her voice a bit more.

"woah, raising your voice on the captain of the ship? how unfortunate. i wonder what you will do if i just throw it out in the sea"

Amy felt miserable, she obviously couldn't do anything about it. "Please! give it back!" She pleaded. "Oh, what is it? where is your arrogance now? is this piece of trash this important to you, that it made you arrogant in a second and miserable in the other?"

"Anyways" Jay put the locket back in his pocket. You can get it back once you prove if you are any use to the Crescents, this ship of mine" Amy looked up at him. "Really? you will give it back to me? what guarantee do you give that you wont throw it out?" She asked.

"I dont give guarantees, but iam a man of my word" He smiled sarcastically and handed Amy a bag. "What is this?" She asked.

"Your uniform, you will wear this from now on for the practice" He replied.

"Practice? what practice?" She asked in confusion. "Oh, my bad i totally forgot to get to the main point. You will be participating in sword's practice daily, starting from today"

"SWORDS PRACTICE!? NO I-"

"You want your necklace back or not?" Amy sighed and left with her bag.

"What a pain" Jay said to himself.

After a while, Amy walked out in her new uniform. "The girl is here, Captain!" of the men pointed it out. Jay simply nodded his head.

Amy was told to sit and observe the other men fighting, until it will be finally her turn. To her surprise, there was only men all over the place. Not a single women.

(Wow! just wow! ) she thought.

"Girl! its your turn now!" one of the men spoke up.

"But who will she fight with? she needs someone to practice" Jimmy, who was standing beside Amy, stated. "Miss!" a man came up to her, extending his arm up to her. "Such a pretty girl like you can practice with me, i will let you kill me with the sword!" Amy was disgusted and hesitated.

"N-no..iam...fine..." She refused gently. The man angrily grabbed her arm and forcefully tried dragging her towards him.

"GET ASIDE PEASANT" It was Jay. He positioned his sword on the man's arm. "Before i chop your arm off" The now frightened man gulped and ran away in the speed of light.

(did he just saved me from a creep?)

Jay then extended his arm and grabbed Amy by her arm gently, pulling her forward.

"I would be glad to teach her"

Amy looked into his brown-earth eyes. "Iam ready" She smirked and took out her sword.
