Chapter 5

Reid retracted his eyesight and walked up to her. "Aren't you very brave? Why are you afraid now?"

"I, I have something to beg you." Tina lowered her head and whispered.

"If you want to talk about going to school, please forget about it." Reid never expected Mary should want to go to school. He thought she just wanted to take the opportunity to go out and mess about with other men.

Tina was stunned. She wondered in her mind, “Can't I go to school again? I still have two years to graduate. Am I going to give up now?

Reid saw that Tina didn't speak. He turned and went into the bathroom. When he came out, Tina was still stunned at the door.

Tina pursed her lips and planned to walk downstairs.

"Wait!" Reid called her.

Tina turned around and found Reid sitting on the sofa, lighting a cigarette and smoking. It gave her an illusion that he hadn’t spoken just now.

Until the cigarette went out, neither of them spoke. Tina looked at him with some fear. Last night was like a nightmare. She was ready to escape.

"Is that all your patience?" Reid said slowly. His voice stopped her.

Tina walked up to him, "Do you agree?"

Reid stood up, walked up to her, stretched out his hand to raise her chin and let her face him. "How many men are waiting for you outside? You can't wait to go out? Huh?" The voice was cold, questioning her.

"No! I really want to go to school, really!" Tina's explanation and guarantee might never work on him, but she still wanted to have a try.

She knew Mary's style. She married the man as a substitute of Mary to protect the Miller family and her adoptive father Nobel.

In order to repay her father’s kindness, she could do anything, but she couldn't live without herself.

"You know I hate being cheated." Reid said his preconditions.

Tina nodded numbly to show that she wouldn't lie to him.

"If I know you lied to me, you should know you will pay price!" Reid really wanted to know what this woman wanted to do!

"Well, I only go to school. I'm not going anywhere else!" She could not work anymore, and her tuition fee would be a problem in the future.

Reid looked at her, "Go downstairs!" He didn't like to stay with a “dirty” woman.

Tina nodded, "Thank you, Mr. Scott." She was indifferent with complex mood.

There was no difference between living in the Miller family and living in the Scott family. She had lost her original parents and she was doomed to be lonely all her life.

Reid didn't speak, but glanced at her coldly and watched her figure disappear at the door.

Tina was arranged to live in a small room on the first floor. It was not very large. There was only a bed and a desk. However, the room faced south, the light condition was very good, and the big windows made her like it very much. It was much better here than the Miller family, but she lost her freedom.

"Miss. Miller, Mr. Scott has told me that without his permission, you should stay in your room. If you have any problem, you can come to me." Mrs. Sparks said to her.

"Mrs. Sparks, thank you." Tina stood in the room, stunned. Her things were still in the Miller family. Some of her things were at school. She needed to go shopping, but she couldn't get out.

After a while, Mrs. Sparks took in some daily necessities. Only then did she feel a little relieved.

Tina took the initiative to go to the kitchen to offer help, which made Mrs. Sparks surprised. She heard that Reid was going to marry a noble and arrogant girl, but Tina didn’t seem to be arrogant and unruly at all. On the contrary, she was graceful.

When Mrs. Sparks saw Tina skillfully washing and cutting vegetables, she couldn’t help asking, "Miss. Miller, can you cook dishes?"

"Well, but I can only cook a few simple dishes." In the Miller family, Tina had to do many things. She had learned some cooking skills from the servants.

"Will you prepare the lunch?" Mrs. Sparks looked at her. Although she thought she was just a noble girl and she couldn’t cook at the beginning, yet later she saw that Tina was not that kind of person.

Tina hesitated. "Will he be angry if he dislikes my food?" She was afraid of him.

"No, he usually doesn't talk too much. He looks a little fierce. In fact, he is also very easy to get along with. Moreover, he won't be too picky about food." Mrs. Sparks had stayed in this villa for many years, and she knew his temperament well.

“Isn't he fierce?” But when she looked at him, she would tremble all over. And she never found that man easy to get along with.

He, like an iceberg, made her fall into ice and snow.

However, as long as he didn't deliberately embarrass her, she would stay here safely and be obedient. After all, she was the wife he bought with money.
