"The gentlemen have just arrived" said Silvia, one of the girls who works in the house.

"Okay, I guess I'll go thank them when everyone is gathered and then I'll go home" I say trying to smile.

"I'm sure they'll offer to take you, the gentlemen are all good people, except Mr. Mauricio" she says rolling her eyes.

"He's very bad, isn't he?" I ask with some nostalgia.

"He's arrogant, he thinks everyone is beneath him. He can't even respect his parents" she says shaking her head.

At that moment Eva walked into the kitchen.

"Diana, can you come for a moment please?" she asks kindly.

"Of course, ma'am" I say and walk after her.

We head to the living room, where Marcus was sitting in one of the large armchairs with a glass of whiskey and his hair somewhat disheveled.

"You see, my son and I have been thinking that for the moment it would be better for you to return to your house. Meanwhile, we will see how we can solve this problem without anyone being harmed, today our driver will take you back to your town, so you can travel safely, okay?" says Eva with a compassionate smile.

"You will live with us in this house as another member of this family, you will lack nothing. The only thing you should do is be my son's wife at every social event so as not to give anything to talk about, it will be frowned upon if Marcus, being married, attends alone, at home we will not ask you for anything else" says Samuel as if being a fake wife was the easiest thing in the world.

"So, you want me to live like a freeloader with the family of the man who lied to me?" I say somewhat annoyed.

"No, no. If you want I can give you work in those six months, so you don't feel that way. Look, you can be my personal assistant, I am a clothing designer and I have my own company. Besides, you told me that you really liked the designs, remember?" says Eva, and Marcus looks at me surprised.

"It's crazy" I said in a whisper.

Finally after much thought, I accepted. What would await me if I returned home? My stepfather would want to marry me to Mr. Morales, but if I stayed and worked, I could make some money to start my own business and help my brother, so that he could study.
