he lets out a deep breath as he feels tears welling up in his eyes. "im sorry,"

jeongin nods, "thank you."

after spending a while talking to his mother, he realizes that he needs to get going, otherwise he won't make it to school on time, "mom, i have to go."

"alright," his mother responds, "I hope you have a great day at school."

jeongin nods and gets up from his chair, picking up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder, "bye mom," he says, giving her a smile as he closes the door behind him.

he makes his way over to the bus stop, and when he finally makes it there, he sees that seungmin and felix are already there waiting for the bus. they look up as soon as they notice that jeongin is making his way towards them, and their faces lighten up when they realize that jeongin is actually coming to get them. they wave goodbye to each other as jeongin passes by them.

jeongin sits down at his usual spot, and he can feel someone's gaze on him. he looks up and sees the demon staring at him, and jeongin stares back. he notices that he's looking at jeongin's lips, and jeongin notices that his cheeks start to turn pink.what?" he questions, trying to act normal, because he really does want to know what the demon was thinking of.

"nothing," the demon replies quickly, and the two of them continue staring at each other for a few more moments.

Chapter 3

did you wake up early today?

yes, im surprised that you didnt come visit me yesterday ;)

i didnt sleep well, so i went to the library instead

oh my god!! you did??

jeongin rolls his eyes as he types his reply and shoves his phone under his desk. he then hears his phone vibrate in his pocket and pulls it out to check who it was.

the notification from the demon made his stomach flutter, and a small smile appears on his face.

are you sure thats a good idea?

maybe you should try sleeping more

jeongin chuckles to himself silently and replies,

well, at least youre finally answering me

you seem to care about me very much

jeongin snickers at the words that jisung just sent, but he can feel himself starting to blush, even more than he already is.

so do you wanna hang out this weekend?

great! i'm going to get dressed and leave my room

jeongin smiles at the last message from the demon and puts his phone away, he turns around to watch the passing people walk past. he's suddenly interrupted by the bell ringing, signalling that class has started. he pushes himself out of his chair and rushes out of the classroom to meet up with his friends.

"hey yah, jeongin!" felix shouts, waving his arm and beckoning for jeongin to join him and seungmin.

"hey," he greets with a small smile, walking up to his best friend and joining the pair of boys on the bench in front of the school gates.

felix glances at his brother, "so, why'd you decide to ignore us this morning?"he asks jeongin.

jeongin sighs, "it wasn't anything serious. i guess i just didn't feel like talking to any of you this morning."

seungmin nods understandingly, "well, we're here to help cheer you up. i'm assuming that you're feeling lonely without us," he jokes.

"no i'm not lonely," jeongin replies bluntly.

they fall silent for a moment before seungmin says, "so, are you going to tell us why you looked so sad last night?" he asks quietly, glancing at jeongin.

"i... uh.... i had trouble sleeping," he answers truthfully.

"that's okay," felix reassures, "we'll still be here, whenever you need us."

they all nod and begin to chat animatedly about different topics, including school. once they finish talking about school, it's the beginning of lunch break, and they all head towards the cafeteria.

jeongin walks into the cafeteria, and finds jisung seated alone at a table, eating his sandwich. as soon as jeongin spots him, he waves him over, signaling for him to sit down, "hyung!" he exclaims happily.

jisung smiles and returns the wave, "hi, jeongin."what are you doing here?" jeongin asks curiously.

jisung shrugs, "i got tired of reading the same thing for five hours straight, so i decided to get something to eat," he explains as he picks up his fork.

"but what happened to you and daniel hyung? i heard that you guys were playing together and stuff last night." jeongin adds.

jisung pauses briefly and lowers his fork back onto his plate before responding, "well... that was last night. we didn't play with each other anymore after i woke up."

jeongin furrows his eyebrows and tilts his head, "then why aren't you with him anymore? you usually hang out with him every day after school." he says with confusion written clearly across his features.

"we didn't play yesterday either," jisung mumbles softly.

"then... are you sure that it's okay to not play anymore?" jeongin asks hesitantly.

jisung stares down at his empty plate, "i think so... i don't know. maybe he's sick or something." he mutters, his voice sounding somewhat broken.

jeongin frowns deeply and wraps his arms around jisung's shoulders tightly, pulling him close.he lets out a deep breath as he feels tears welling up in his eyes.

"im sorry," he whispers against jisung's shoulder.

jisung just continues to stare down at his food, not wanting to respond to jeongin.

jeongin leans backwards and lets go of the demon, looking down at the plate of food that he hasn't touched yet. he grabs a couple of fries and starts tearing them apart slowly.

"i'm sorry," jisung mutters again, "it isn't your fault."

jeongin shakes his head slightly. "you shouldn't blame yourself, hyung. you don't deserve it."

"if you say so..." jisung responds with a defeated tone.

they sit in silence for a few more minutes, neither one really knowing what else to say.

"so, i heard that you met up with seungmin hyung this morning," jeongin breaks the silence with.

"yeah, he told me that you came by to apologize, is that true?" jisung replies.

jeongin nods, "he said you haven't talked to him in awhile."

"not since the whole mess happened, yeah," jisung sighs.

"how did you manage to convince him to forgive you anyway?" jeongin wonders.
