"Foolishness... Yes, foolishness!"
This was the singular great sin in truth. Words spoken by the grandfather who provided him the system then. And Noah had no desire to appear Foolish.
"What is this commotion? Why the noise here?"
Brandon withdrew his clenched fist immediately upon recognizing the figure emerging.
"Miss Lins. This individual provoked my girlfriend by declaring I was a woman of low virtue."
"The manager, we overheard it too. This youth was disrespectful to Mr. Brandon's companion."
"Yes. I witnessed it myself."
The store guards chose to defend Brandon, conveniently omitting the true narrative. After all, both perceived Noah as unaware of his present location's significance.
Brandon felt triumphant with the allegiance of everyone. "Miss Lins, I've come to purchase attire for a prestigious event tonight. However, on entering your store, my eyes met this wayward youth. That is all."
The store's manager perused the scene to grasp the situation comprehensively.
"Young Sir, our establishment does not condone disturbances. So, inform me of your purpose here."
Lins was the consummate professional; her methods of ejecting someone would be of the utmost elegance. Judging Noah's attire, she surmised his disorientation. Yet, rudeness was never her approach.
Noah grinned. "Miss, I admire your professionalism greatly. I'm here to acquire formal apparel. Could you offer your recommendations?"
"Miss Lins, did you hear? He speaks as if capable of affording our selections. Thus Brandon's urge to expel him."
Lins was equally startled, yet the manager retained composure, returning Noah's smile.
"Alright, I shall recommend some options for you. Follow me."
"Thank you."
Noah trailed after Lins, leaving Brandon and the others. When Brandon tried convincing Lins again, her guards intervened.
"Mr. Brandon, let it be. Our manager has her way of removing such people."
"Is that so? Very well then."
"Yes, Mr. Brandon. Now, please describe the suit you wish for."
"Tonight marks World Order's headquarters inauguration. My father and I will attend. I require an outfit with splendor."
As Brandon browsed, Lins, the store manager, showed Noah select limited editions intended to elicit shock and self-awareness from him.
"Mr. Noah, this attire is tailored by our designer. Your stature suits it perfectly."
"Alright, Miss Lins. I'll take it. How much does it cost?"
Lins smiled, stating: "It's not costly, merely fifty thousand dollars."
Lins set the price to imply exclusivity, expecting Noah's shock and swift exit. Instead, she was the one astonished when he retorted.
"Well, Miss Lins, since you're so beautiful and cordial, I'll take every limited edition piece fitting me in the store."
Lins' expression reflected utter disbelief. "Mr. Noah, are you jesting?"
Noah shook his head. "No joke. Please package them all. I trust you know what's fitting for me."
"Apologies for the forwardness, but we have at least twenty suits for you. That amounts to a million dollars minimum."
Noah nodded unfazed. "I will pay. Present the invoice."
Lins found his jest excessive, stirring her irritation.
Yet she procured the payment device, inputting the charges, ready to unmask Noah's charade.
As she awaited the futile transaction, Noah's phone rang. He answered promptly.
"Henry, what's up?"
"Noah, can you come here? There's a matter we need to discuss with you."
While Noah spoke on the phone, Lins flipped over the payment terminal. Amidst the conversation with Henry, Noah casually made the payment.
"Ching!"
Lins was astounded; the youth indeed could afford the transaction.
Observing Noah's serious phone engagement, she glanced again at the payment device.
This youth, her customer, had just purchased the entire limited edition collection of her store, untried, their transaction a mere sideline to his call.
"Miss Lins, I must visit my campus. Would you deliver everything to my hotel room?"
"..."
"Miss Lins? ..."
Jolted from her reverie by Noah's call, Lins responded.
"Oh, yes. To your hotel? I shall go there."
"No, it's not that. I need help getting them sent to my hotel room. I must attend college. Can you arrange it? You'll receive a generous tip."
"Forgive my earlier words. Very well, leave the address, and I will manage the delivery."
"Oh\, ****\, fifty thousand dollars?!"
"Yes, Mr. Brandon. Exclusivity warrants it."
The guard replied, noting Brandon's shock at the item encased in glass.
"This isn't for me, I should seek attire within three to five thousand instead."
They were discussing this as Noah emerged expeditiously, bypassing them all. Instantly, they all erupted into laughter.
"Hahahaha!"
"Hahahaha!"
While they mocked Noah, Lins reappeared. "What is this noise now?"
"Miss Lins, indeed professional. It seems you've taught that man a lesson, driving him off in fear."
Lins furrowed her brows, confused. "Mr. Brandon. You should know who your father is. A minor businessman, barely earning twenty million dollars annually. How dare you mock our VIP customer?"
Silenced, they sensed a mistake upon hearing Lins's words.
"Miss Lins, what do you mean?" Brandon inquired.
"Hmph, no wonder the young gentleman called you a loser. Indeed, that's what you are. Nothing but a loser before him."
"Miss Lins, this sudden harshness? What has occurred?" Brandon's girlfriend inquired, perceiving a dramatic shift from calm elegance to vulgarity.
Ignoring her question, Lins addressed her employees.
"What are you waiting for? Wrap every limited-edition piece in supreme luxury. Our young patron purchased them all."
After issuing the order, Lins closed in on Brandon, teeth gritted with vehemence. "Would you ruin our business? You wished to eject a cherished VIP?"
"Miss Lins, I fail to comprehend."
"If you've no intention to buy, then exit immediately and take this vile woman with you!" Lins exclaimed, charged with emotion.
Fortunate for their quick departure, lest they further deter her valued client with their folly.
"Brandon, say something." His companion urged, seeking his defense.
After a brief pause, Brandon turned and seized her. "Let's leave."
He knew that Lins was beyond provocation. Comparing their family business to the vast Gucci network was like contrasting heaven and earth. Brandon's realization of his grave error was instant, facing Lins's wrath.
An hour later, Noah reached his friends' dormitory.
"Tell me, what transpired?"
"When Jade stepped down, our cab arrived. But suddenly, some men approached her, and after a brief exchange, they left in a parked car across the street."
"Does it look like a kidnapping?"
All three shook their heads, with only Henry offering an insight.
"It seems like her family. Apparently, something's occurred, necessitating their retrieval of her."
