Episode 11

Today, Noah was rather content with the work of three individuals who kept themselves consistently active. He was also aware that taking control of a company was no easy feat.

Yesterday, his emotions had briefly gotten the better of him. That was when he had tried pushing beyond the limits of his MBB to elevate his system's level. For this month at least, he was in the clear, having met his MBB target.

Noah decided to visit the campus. He knew that moving forward, he might get bogged down with various commitments. At the moment, Noah wanted to spend some quality time with friends.

"Noah, we've given it some thought. To help you concentrate on your studies, we're setting aside part of our monthly allowances. This way, you won't need to continue with your part-time job," they offered.

His three friends were indeed kind-hearted souls. But Noah was not one to easily accept favors.

Even when times were tough, Noah had never once asked them for assistance. Yet they always seemed to be looking for ways to help him out.

"You don't need to go that far, I've secured a stable job now. Everything's going to be okay from here on out."

"Really?" Noel exclaimed, pleased.

"Noah, where are you employed? You seem quite optimistic about it." Liam equally interested.

"DevilHill - that's my current workplace."

All three friends were shocked.

"Impossible...!"

"Noah, are you serious?"

Noah raised an eyebrow in confusion. Their reactions indicated DevilHill's notoriety.

He regretted having declined information about the place just yesterday when Alice had offered to explain.

Noah found himself unsure how to respond to his friends' state of disbelief.

Just as Noah was about to speak, someone interrupted their conversation.

"Hahaha! No need for such shock. Obviously Noah can work there. His experience is indisputable."

"Greg... what do you want?!"

Noel stood up, shooting a hostile look. To him, Greg was the scoundrel who had stolen his friend's girlfriend.

Noel's anger evaporated at Greg's words. "Noel, I still respect you thanks to your father. Now, get that unsightly face out of my sight."

Noel's father was Greg's father's personal assistant. Their families had been close historically. However, Noel had never liked Greg, seeing him as nothing but an arrogant, wealthy youth fascinated by women's bodies.

"Greg, we have nothing to discuss with you. Please leave."

"Look who's talking, Mr. Harvey. Seems you've forgotten who you're talking to. Ready for a repeat of past events?"

Liam fell silent, memories of the past assault returning - Greg and his cronies had sent him to the hospital.

Back then, the bullies were also students at the same school. Greg's despicable behavior had only intensified over time.

"Alright, Greg. What do you want?" Noah inquired.

"Nothing from you. But when you say you work at DevilHill, that's bound to end today. The place has been taken over by a new company. A major overhaul is likely. You might lose your job," Greg gloated, his satisfaction evident, as his parents had been building new networks with the company's high-ups just last night.

Noah nodded, "Perhaps. How does that concern you?"

Greg, still holding resentment towards Noah for a past encounter with Lucy, found joy in the potential loss of Noah's job.

However, Noah's indifference only exacerbated Greg's irritation. "I'm just concerned. After losing a woman, now a job. As a friend, I'm very caring."

Noah knew Greg all too well, this wasn't their first clash. He'd already dealt with Greg's friends before, and one had helped him out.

Before Noah could reply, a girl's voice yelling his name interrupted them.

"Noah! ... Is that you?!"

Not just Noah, but Greg and the others turned to look. The girl calling Noah was stunningly beautiful.

"Jade? ... Yes, it's me."

Jade was relieved to find Noah, who had helped her the night before.

"Oh, good. I've been looking for you."

Greg's interest piqued at the beautiful woman now approaching Noah. As a womanizer, he knew she ranked among the top beauties at their university.

"Jade, what's up?"

"Oh, I just wanted to invite you to lunch. Would you like that?"

Greg and the others went silent, beginning to understand why Noah didn't seem too troubled about Lucy leaving him.

The young man appeared to be close to an extraordinarily beautiful girl.

"Noah, who is she?"

Greg couldn't help but inquire about the girl looking at Noah with sparkling eyes.

"Noah, are these, your friends?"

Jade felt awkward, not wanting to intrude.

"They're my friends," Noah pointed to the three nearby. "But him... If someone steals your girlfriend, can you consider him a friend?"

Jade raised an eyebrow but quickly caught on.

"Hahaha... I don't know. But surely, I wouldn't be friends with someone who steals my friend's girlfriend."

Noah and his three friends struggled to hold back laughter, while Greg looked as if he might explode, though keeping his cool.

"Miss Jade, I didn't take his girlfriend. She was the one chasing and flirting with me. What could I do?" Greg said, feigning camaraderie.

Jade gave Greg a strange look and shook her head, "Why ask me? I don't know."

She then looked at Noah, "So, you're single now, right? Well, I'm your girlfriend today. And your girlfriend here wants to have lunch with you. How about it?"

Noah simply nodded, "Alright then, let's go."

Jade held onto Noah, and they walked away.

Though jealous, his friends were thrilled. Henry silently captured Greg's dumbfounded expression with his phone.

"Thank you," Noah said once they were away from the group.

"No need to be formal. Aren't we friends now?"

Jade knew about Noah's discomfort towards Greg and sensed Greg's intention to embarrass Noah. That's why she decided to step in and turn the tables on Greg.
