Type’s POV:

“But why am I going there after all these years that we have lived separately..?????” I asked “because he is your grandfather... and he wants to meet you” my mother replied.

“I’m not going,” saying so I stormed into my room. So, what…he is a mean old man. he never respected my father and even disowned mom just because she married someone she loved, refused to see my face because I’m adopted and now all of a sudden, he wants me to live with him in his house for a month…. Dream on old man …I’m not going anywhere.

“Type!!! Can I talk to you for a second??” said my father knocking the door of my room. “Son just for some time?” And here it is again... i can’t resist him...i love my dad . He is the best father one can ever have and still that old man hates him. UUgghh!!! This is making me hate him even more.

The knocking continued and I gave up. “ Yeah dad “ I unlocked the door to let him in . “ Wasn’t this the table where you hid you thaaaaaaat book ”he said with a grin on his face… “ you do remember I saved you that day from your mom right???? ”

“ Yes because I didn’t tell mom when you said you like aunt’s cooking more ”

“And let’s keep this teamwork up” “ until our mom finds it out herself” I said chuckling . We repeated this phrase every time we shared a secret or made a blunder….it’s our promise quote.

He sat on a chair and made me sit on the bed in front of him facing him.

“Son … I know why you said what you said. But think, maybe your grandfather doesn’t like us just because there is some misunderstanding between” “this does not make sense… no one would do all this in a misunderstanding” I said interrupting him. “I understand you. and trust me when I say this” of course I trust him...he really understood me like a best friend he continued “this is the first time in twenty-five years that your grandfather called us himself… we want you to visit him …this may be the last chance for us to make him understand and blur the line between us even a bit…” and I melted at that statement, completely. “For you mother’s sake ...please.” I looked at his eyes and could feel how much he loved us.

“Okay” his face lit up a bit “but” I added “I will come back the moment I can’t take it anymore” he nodded and pulled me closer into a warm hug. “Thank you for doing this”

One week later I was on a flight still wishing if this all were a dream. But then I was reminded by my memories…this is a chance to make everything better. I was going there for a reason and I will try my best only if that old man didn’t do something to make me leave.
