Pr•|•gue 0.2 | Chapter 3 : Interest

The soft drumming of the rain against the window to your left seemed more interesting than the current topic your teacher was discussing.

There were faint chatters in your row of the classroom and it annoyed you that most of them was about none other than the guy sitting two rows up from your seat.

Thunder merely glared at the blackboard, his red eyes simply tracing the lines of whatever writings were there. As usual, listening to the discussion was rather another boring wait for him until the bell rings to decide class was over.

His morning was already halfway ruined with all the girls checking him out so bluntly and pestering him even when he had politely asked for them to leave him alone.

Coming early to school was a huge benefit for him and his brothers, especially for the favorites, him and Solar. He was either alone in those mornings wandering the halls of the school or letting Cyclone ramble away as he drifts off to sleep listening to his brother's stories.

This morning was one of his unfortunate ones. The ones when his 'fans' decided to come early as well just to pester them and try to seduce him.

It was so early and he wasn't in the mood to be dealing with them, let alone talk with anyone at all. Yet on the other hand, his brothers had more freetime to themselves and Solar had you.

Thunder yawns, hiding his mouth behind his hand and his eyes were already half-lidded with sleepiness. He shakes it off though, aware that he still had to listen a bit to the teacher to catch up with the lesson. Or else Quake will be nagging at him again about falling asleep in class. And he gets away every time without the teacher knowing, all because of his cap covering his face.

A faint chatter behind him had subtly distracted him, catching his attention. He scoffs, hearing they were about him again and he peeks to see if they were the same girls as always.

Right as he was, he moves to turn away but you were caught in his line of sight. He watched curiously as you stared out of the window, occasionally tracing the raindrops with a finger on the glass.

A small smile found its way to his lips and he faces back to the blackboard, just in time when you felt someone staring at you.

Your eyes scanned the room in curiosity, feeling someone had been staring at you. The girls were just chatting as usual but there wasn't anything else that seemed off. Or more specifically, no one seemed to be watching you when you most certainly felt it.

Eh.. Whatever

With a shrug, your attention drifted back to the window beside you, watching how the clouds started to crowd in the sky. Excitement filled you, knowing the familiarity of those cloud forms. Cumulunimbus clouds... Or in other words... Thunderstorm clouds.

...• • • • •...

Thunder sighed, for the nth time today. A certain female had been trailing him all morning and opted to stick to his side, rambling on so annoyingly Thunder did his best to stop himself from yelling at her.

"Claudette, leave me alone. I'm not interested in you." he coldly shut out the girl behind him, earning a surprised yelp from her.

"But Thu-"

"Piss off."

Real gentle. That was as gentle as he'd get when dealing with them in a bad mood. Said female was now stomping away in the halls as the lightning elemental pushed passed the doors of the cafeteria.

And again, more girls surrounded him, adding to his irritation. Of course, it was already a normal routine he and his brothers had gotten used to, but he never found peace with it. And for some reason, it just seemed to become more and more annoying each day.

"Please Thunder, let us sit with you."

Thunder winced, disgusted by the girl's fake heart eyes. All they ever seeked was popularity with them in the first place, and he wasn't gonna give it to them.

"Leave me alone."

"Aw! Come on Thunder!"

"Please!!"

"Please, Hali!"

His brows crashed together in utter frustration and his knuckles started to turn white from anger. His expression literally screamed annoyance and the girls didn't fail to notice it.

"Don't. Fucking. Call me that!!"

He cursed. And he didn't care that it was very inappropriate especially in front of females but he gave no shit.

Hali.

True, it was his nickname but only his brothers were allowed to use it. No one besides them have ever used it, not that he actually allowed anyone else. He glares and gives zero fucks to whoever tries using it that isn't his brother.

The girl knew using that nickname was a big no, but it seemed her desperation got the best of her, and Thunder wasn't gonna take it easy on her. Or on any of them, that is.

"Th-thunder I-I'm-"

"Out of my way!" He growled, silencing her at once.

"Don't ever use that name again! You have no right to call me that nickname!!"

The girl shook under his gaze and her friends felt so sorry for her and yet they couldn't do anything about it.

Thunder's red eyes glowed dangerously under his cap and his jaw clenched so hard his teeth could've bled.

Like he cared if it bled.

"Thunder that's enough!"

The girls redirected their gaze to the person behind them. Everyone in the cafeteria had witnessed the scene, and it brought embarrassment upon the girls.

Quake frowned at his brother and quickly placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

"That's enough." He repeated.

Thunder heaved, scoffed, and ripped his shoulder from his brother's grasp. Now he was in an even bitter mood, and his brothers knew not to mess with him in his current state. One wrong word will bring hell to them all.

"Please stop pestering him." Quake faced the girls with an intimidating stare, immediately making them wanna run for it. "And just stay out of his way. Getting on his bad side is already bad enough."

Of course, they were mere threats so they'd completely stop pestering his brother but Quake wanted to make it clear that trying so desperately to get Thunder to notice them was quite a bad idea.

"Hey, calm down." Cyclone gently held Thunder's shoulder in comfort, a little afraid he may lash out if they weren't careful.

Thunder paid him no mind as Quake slid his food tray in his direction. "Here, eat up. It's your usual."

No one spoke up after that and the cafeteria was back to its chatter, only, the topic was about how desperate those girls were.

Everyone knew that the septuplets' nicknames were only allowed to be uttered by the brothers and no one else unless they gave you permission.... And so far, Solar, Thorn, Cyclone, and Quake let (Y/n) use their nicknames.

You watched the girls exit the cafeteria doors with an apple in your hand. You were truly unamused. They lost to their own bet and were crying in despair.

Those girls in particular had come to you multiple times, asking for information about the brothers, knowing you were quite good friends with them and to help them get closer to the boys.

You've declined of course, finding it childishly desperate of them.

Until the bet.

"if we get Thunder to at least become friends with us before you do, then you leave them alone, especially Solar."

How despicable, you thought. They looked so miserable, make up smudged all over their tear-streaked faces.

Your footsteps were powerful as you approached them, feeling victorious and disgusted at the same time.

"You're so fucking desperate." You spat out. "You even had to guts to call him his nickname when you know it's not allowed."

You knew they'd do whatever they had to to win their own bet, but using Thunder's nickname? Pathetic, desperate bitches.

Pushing passed them, embarrassment flooded over their bodies in a flash as your words rang in their heads.

It was simple payback and they were simply crybabies. "Pathetic." You grumbled, watching as the sky darkened further and rain poured down heavier, matching the current atmosphere.

You smiled, seeing a streak of lightning flash in the sky, waiting for the thunder clap next.

The sky lit so beautifully and you had to see it properly. So to the field it was.

The grass of the field was damp, heavy with rain. You stood under the bleachers, admiring the storm.

Your legs crossed as you sat there, Thunder breath in the moist air and listened to the skies grumbling in his gloomy mood. Those bitches just had to ruin his day more than it already is. How annoying, truly.

He inhales deeply, stepping forward towards the wet field, no longer caring if he caught a cold from the rain.

You on the other hand watched him approach the field. And upon realizing his intentions, you frowned and attempted to stop him. "Hey you'll get w-AH!!"

The ground became slippery thanks to the rain and fate just had to embarrass you. In an attempt to stand up and pull Thunder away from the rain, the slippery ground made your shoes slip and the whole world came crashing around you.

Thunder whipped his head around. the second he heard the distressed yelp, now aware that someone other than him was out to see the storm unfold. His eyes landed on your figure now laying on the ground under the bleachers, a hand weakly grasping your head as cusses left your lips without second thoughts.

A stinging pain pounded against the back of your head, throbbing from the impact. "Ugh, fucking wet cement!"

Thunder was quick to approach you, bending over to see who was watching him. "(Y/n)?", Of course, he easily recognized you, as you were, after all, his dear brother's best friend. "Are you okay...?" He asked, kneeling by your side while checking around you for wounds or bruises.

Hearing his voice, you forced to nod your head in response, groaning as you attempted to sit up.

Thunder internally groaned at you efforts and extended his hand towards you. "Here, lemme help."

Blindly reaching for his hand with your eyes shut tight from the pain, Thunder gripped on your hand gently and effortlessly pulled you up from the concrete.

You gasp, stumbling a little as your head was still spinning. Your legs and your knees gave up, helplessly making you lean against the flustered male.

Thunder's eyes met hers as his gloved hands tightly held your waist, preventing her from falling again. His hold around you was oddly warm despite how cold people have perceived him to be. And you liked how warm he felt.

You blush, pulling yourself together to stand on your own, palms gently pushing on his chest to create space between you.

"T-thank you..." You utter, cursing yourself for your clumsiness. Thunder hums, nodding in return but he couldn't keep his eyes off of you, like he had to watch over you for unknown reasons.

The air around you was becoming unbearable so you took it upon yourself to clear the awkward atmosphere.

"W-what were you thinking, walking into the rain like that?" You tried to ask, hoping he wouldn't mind with the scene from the cafeteria still flashing in your head.

Thunder presses his lips into a thin line, forming a sentence in his head that would sound casual enough. "I wanted to clear my head... Thought it might help."

That came out smoother than he expected and it was just as natural as you thought. The skies grumbled, more lightning striking from different areas and it brought a smile to your face once again.

Thunder glanced at your side profile, wondering about your reaction to the storm and he almost gasps. He wasn't expecting you to look so... Fascinated by them.

He frowned in confusion. Thunderstorms were meant to be dangerous, loud, and could kill when a person is struck.... Just like him. Yet you looked at them so fondly? Thunder wasn't sure he was seeing right anymore... Did she hit her head that hard?

"Aren't you afraid?" his question made you turn to him. You were smiling... Something he didn't see coming as well. "Why would I be?" You inquire.

"They're beautiful." You added and gazed at the flashes in the sky just as thunder grumbled. The persona himself gaped at your response.

Beautiful? How could she find them beautiful?? I'm that very element... And people fear me for it....

Well... He did speculate what Solar had mentioned to them before... The fact that you liked 'thunder'... And he thought Solar meant him... He should've known he meant the storm itself.

"I'll get going then..."

He mumbles, loud enough for you to hear, afraid his anger hasn't fully calmed down yet.

You glance at him as he turned to leave, like nothing had happened. You let him be, of course. He may still be in a bad mood after all that shit.

"See you around."

The sound of the door closing made you turn to him again, only, it was just the door. Thunder nowhere in sight.

See me around?? Doesn't he practically avoid every girl at this point?

You were left to wonder about it all to yourself, staring as the storm only became stronger.
