chapter 3: it's becoming a problem

What a bright, sunny day! It sure is pleasant... Except for the fact that my 𝘧𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 decided to visit me all of a sudden!

"Talk about the devil and it'll appear." I muttered irritatedly.

"Are you saying something, Lia?" Asked Sein with his fake smile.

"Haha, I was just curious about the reason of your sudden visit." I said, covering my mouth to cover my gritting teeth.

He frowned. "You asked me to come here in your letters. Have you forgotten?"

Oh my... Foolish, old me. How can you fall for this obviously stupid jerk? His brother is much more better than him. Speaking of the second prince, I wonder how is he? Is the curse a lot worse now? It's better to give him a visit sometime soon... And maybe also ask for his help.

"My memory seems to have gotten a bit cloudy. My apologies, your highness." I responded as I laughed a bit nervously.

Anyway, it seems like no one can sense my mana. I've hidden it well.

"I see." Sein seems a bit suspicious but he also seems to shrug it off. Now this is the time to be thankful for his stupidity.

Seins POV:

"My memory seems to have gotten a bit cloudy. My apologies, your highness."

It's really strange. She still acts the same as before but I feel that something was specially off today. Or was I mistaken?

"I see." I replied.

Maybe I was mistaken.

"Your highness!" Estelle came running as soon as she saw me.

Estelle. She was a really kind and bright girl. I kind of like her.

I flashed her a warm smile as I greeted her, "Good morning, Estelle."

"Good morning, your highness!" Estelle politely lowered her head as she greeted.

After her polite greeting, she beamed at me but instantly turned terrified when she saw Lia. "Ah... I.. I didn't notice you here, s-sister..."

Did Lia do something to her? Or maybe I'm rushing to conclusions?

"What's wrong, Estelle?" I asked in a concerned manner.

"Oh... Uh, i-it's nothing..." Estelle replied, shaking her head to signify that I shouldn't pursue this matter anymore.

"Is it about Lia?" I asked which Estelle only heard then she -froze.

It is about her! Maybe I'm viewing her wrong all this time!

"What did you do to Estelle?!" I asked which made Lia stare at me with confusion.

"What did I do?" She asked back.

What? Is she pretending not to know?

"It's fine, Sein- I mean, your highness. S-Sister just misunderstood me. I... I just wanted to see her yesterday b-but maybe I did something wrong which made her... Mad at me..." Estelle said.

She was so scared that she's crying now. Lia might be much more crueler than I thought.

Putting an arm in front of Estelle to protect her, I yelled at Lia, "Why are you so cruel to her?!"

ASTALIA POV:

Wow. Look at this two. Compared to his reaction to me, he's much kinder and warmer to Estelle. This is why I hate this jerk. Good thing I'm no longer my old self or else I would've cried my eyes out for his indifference.

"Ah... I... I didn't notice you here, s-sister." Estelle looked at me with widened eyes.

Huh? Is she blind? I'm literally just beside the trashca-... I mean, Sein.

Sein then suddenly became worried after he saw Estelle's expression. "What's wrong, Estelle?"

"Oh... Uh, i-it's nothing..." Estelle said, shaking her head.

Sein seemed to ask something to Estelle which made her froze. I don't know what he asked but I'm getting a bad feeling about this.

"What did you do to Estelle?" Sein suddenly asked which made me confused.

"What did I do?" I asked back, not knowing the answer to his question.

"It's fine, Sein- I mean, your highness. S-Sister just misunderstood me. I... I just wanted to see her yesterday b-but maybe I did something wrong which made her... Mad at me..." Estelle said.

Geez! I'm going to puke! She really knows how to twist things around! Gotta applaud to that, I guess.

In astalia's mind:

Putting an arm in front of Estelle to protect her, Sein yelled at me, "Why are you so cruel to her?!"

Yep. I didn't really expect anything from this jerk and I'm glad I didn't. For someone who falls for that acting, I'll never have any expectations.

But then again... The bad feeling is wrong. This is definitely what I want! I was actually afraid that this will happen later but it happened sooner than expected!

It's time to cancel the engagement~!

"What?! Why would you even help her?! I'm your fiance!" I glared at him and Estelle since I saw her smirk.

She must be thinking that I've fallen in her trap. Unfortunately for her, this is an opportunity for me!

Estelle acted scared as she hid behind Sein. He then became more mad at me. "How dare you raise your voice! Apologize!"

"Wha- I won't apologize to that b*tch!" I said in a fake irked tone.

I'm doing pretty well at acting if I say so myself because my sister is also falling for it. A perfect ten points!

"You won't? Then let's cancel our engagement!" He yelled.

This is it!

"W-What? Y-You can't do that!" I said as I (fake) faltered.

"I can since I won't marry a vile person like you. Now get out and leave Estelle alone." Sein gestured for me to get out.

Gritting my teeth, I left as he said.

After arriving in my room, I did a celebratory dance.

"It's a success!" I giggled as I rolled in my bed back and forth.

That Sein really gets on my nerves though. The other moment he was smiling at me then after a simple act from my sister, he completely changed his attitude towards me. Well, thanks to that, everything's going well. Hate to say but I have to thank Estelle. But what should I do to thank her? — Ahhh, I'll let her live for a few more years.

"I really am kind that it's a problem." I sighed jokingly dramatic.

"You egotistical brat." I heard Sister Eleanoire said before she appeared and flicked me in the forehead.

"Ow! What was that for?" I asked as I rubbed my forehead.

"Northing much. I just wanted to do it." She replied.

"Cruel." I mumbled which was still heard by her then she hit me harder.

"Ow! Okay! I won't say that anymore." I said, still rubbing my forehead.

"I almost forgot, I have another gift for you." Sister Eleanoire said.

Another gift?

"Huh? Where?" I asked as I looked around.

"Come inside the necklace. It's a sub territory remember?" Sister Eleanoire said before turning into a streak of light and entering the necklace. I pouted at that.

She should've waited for me.

After I came in, the view that met me was spectacular!

I can't help but be stunned at the scenery. There's lots of beautiful flowers and there's indeed a house in the middle of it!

"Too stunned to speak? Why don't you thank me?" Sister Eleanoire smugly asked.

"Yes. Thank you very much Sister Eleanoire!" I said while latching on her leg.

"Oi! Do you even have any dignity left?" She glared at me quite jokingly.

"Dignity? What's that?" I asked playfully.

"You brat! How can you be my successor then?" Sister Eleanoire said in a jokingly mad manner.

I laughed at what we're doing. "Okay, okay. Let's stop now."

Sister Eleanoire chuckled. "Let's go inside the house then. My gift is inside."

I followed her inside the house and saw the fancy interior of the house. Truth be told, this is much more beautiful than our house.

"There it is~!" Sister Eleanoire pointed at the fancy looking table in the middle.
