Splitting Family

A few weeks later the dinner with the head village came and everyone is busy , specially Qui Ruan .

When the dinner is about to start , Grandma Wei and Grandpa Wei took The Head village , Guan Ding to the table to eat .

The place is neat and tidy and the family has smiles on their faces but behind their smiles is a different reflection of what they show .

The two elders and The Head village are talking about whatever to ease the situation .

" Head village , I want to split the family " Qui Ruan calmly said .

The whole family and Guan Ding looked at him with shocked .

Well splitting a family can only be done when a person is a criminal , can live on their own , when the elders died ,or whatever .

The head villager is here so he doesn't want to leave a bad expression to the said man .

" Qui - er why do you want to split up the family , we are still here ??? " Grandpa gently said like he was concern to them but actually his blood is boiling with anger because after all he paid money just to get this man to work for them and now he wanted to leave !?! how absurd !!! .

" Grandpa Wei , i know our situation in here and I wanted to split the family because i felt like a BURDEN and now we need the money for fourth uncle for school . " Qui Ruan said like he really is sad .

" Qui Ruan , you don't have to do this you know ?? " Guan Ding said , even though he didn't know about their little affairs but he felt touched by his sincere to this family .

" Head village i want to live our life somewhere without conflict and peaceful " Qui Ruan said .

" And also i want to give them some money to spend for Fourth unlce's study " Qui Ruan reveal a torn money pouch and give it to Grandma Wei to see .

She took it and looked at how many he wanted to give and receive a 16 silver which make the whole families eye bulge .

Normally a normal Household can earn a 5 silver in a year and now they have 16 silver which would make their living grand for this .

They are relucant to give it back to Qui Ruan and if they didn't and still insist of letting the two go , they might lose face in the front of the head village and if they did they won't be able to have money from the head village someday .

" Then how did you get this so much silver Qui Ruan ??? " the second uncle said still not letting this man leave because if he did all of the farm work would fall on him so he won't let go .

" I cut off some of Wei shin's medicine for this money and you know how expensive his medicine is ??? " Qui Ruan said .

" Wait , Wei shin is sick !?! " Guan Ding exclaimed .

" Yes Head village , and don't worry i have faith that someday his illness would be cuted . " Qui Ruan sadly said .

The Head village touched Wei shin's head which make the Wei family flinch , if this madman go crazy - , the whole family thought , but Wei shin act pitiful instead like he really is sick which earn a sympathize from Guan Ding , he shook his head not knowing what to do .

If he let them live here they might go broke if Wei shin's medicine is really expensive and if he let them leave then they might suffer .

He doesn't really know what to do so he then asked again Qui Ruan .

" Do you really want to leave ??? " Guan Ding seriously said .

" Yes , Head village , we wanted to leave , and don't worry we can handle our self " Qui Ruan said .

Guan Ding looked at the couple and then at the two elders .

" Well it's look like they really want to leave so what do you think ??? " Guan Ding said at Grandpa Wei .

Grandpa Wei was about to say something when Grandma Wei suddenly talked .

" NO !!! HOW DARE YOU !!!! AFTER ALL WE DID !!! WE FEED YOU , AND CLOTHE YOU AND NOW YOU WANTED TO TELL LIES !!! HA !! NO ! NO ! NO ! YOU ONLY GIVE US 16 SILVER'S I KNOW YOU STILL HAVE MORE !!! BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS GO TO HUNT AND SOLD THEM OFF AND ONLY GIVING US LITTLE MONEY !!! " Grandma yelled again and again and Guan Ding looked at her with discuss .

" That's enough !!! " Guan Ding yelled .

The whole family looked at him with horror , of the head villager get angry at them they won't be able to ask something from him anymore and it would be terrible .

Grandpa Wei tried to calm him off but he shook his head .

" Qui Ruan ! you said you wanted to leave right ??? " Guan Ding asked .

" Yes , with my wife " Qui Ruan said which earn a glance from Wei shin because he was just called wife .

" Very well , He Yin give me some paper , ink , and brush . " Guan Ding asked his slave and He Ying took some right away .

The whole family is angry by this , but if the head village see it fit to split a family then their is nothing they can do but obey .

" He Yin ask some villagers outside and bring them here to be a witness . " Guan Ding said .

His slave obeyed and he asked some villagers to go inside the house .

Now the whole family has nothing they can do but to sign the papers .

" Old Wei the two of them need's something they can take before they live " Guan Ding calmly said .

" Well they can take one of our field near the mountain " Grandpa Wei said .

They whole family was happy about it because that field os near the mountain and some wild animals love eating and their crops their and it's just a waste of money to do .

But the head village was angry about it .

" What do you mean ! Your grandson is sick and needs to leave and you just give them one field while you owned 20 fields !?!? " Guan Ding said .

" Head village you know our situation , looked at me other grandchildren !!! they are so thin and now we need money for my son's education ! and on the top of that we need money for our everyday lives ! we can't do anything and of we lose more land we might die ! Head village we also can't do anything , because of teh famine we lose a lot of money too we're so sorry but what can we do ? " Grandpa Wei said with grieving .

The Head village knew how the famine did and even he can't do anything so he understands that even he was affected but the two young couple is also in a tight situation , he wanted to help them but he can't just plant silver on the ground and let it grow like tree's .

" Um Qui Ruan are you okey with this ??? " Guan Ding sadly said .

" Um , Yes we can handle ourselves so we are thankful for your concern " Qui Ruan bowed at the Head village and thanked them .

They signed the papers and give each of them a copy amd left .

Qui Ruan and Wei shin packed their things , and because they hardly have things in their room , their packing is fast amd they left .

They exited the gate while the whole family is looking at them with distain .

They hate it that now their slave left and they won't let them go .

Everyone left and even the " concern people " left .

The two of them went to where Qui Ruan's brother is .
