I don't understand why Gabriela told me that Mr. Cooper was a good boss and that it was excellent to work with him. She must be blind or she just told me that so I would sign the damn contract once and for all. This man is the most unbearable and intolerable person I have had the misfortune of meeting. Every day he behaves rudely towards me and I still don't understand why. I put up with it because he's my boss, but he's pushing me to my limit and he won't want to know me when I reach it. Once again, I am in the office organizing the mess of documents he has in there. In my opinion, this man does it on purpose so that... I don't know, but it's unbearable having to organize the same thing every day. It's as if he stays up at night just to disorganize everything I do during the day. The worst part is having to put up with and see that ogre face he always wears. Doesn't he ever get tired of being in a bad mood?
"Wilson, send these documents to the lawyer; tell Lopez to review each text very carefully, please."
"Yes, sir. Anything else?-"
"No, for now" he assured. Al, don't take long, we have a very important meeting in fifteen minutes.
"Permission to leave, I'll be right back."
Why couldn't he tell me about the documents earlier? It seems like he does it with another intention, but oh well, two more months and I'm off to New York. Chicago is not for me. I did everything he asked and returned to the conference room two minutes before the meeting. While I was organizing each folder in its place, he entered with the phone in his hands and a very charming smile on his face. He doesn't look bad at all, laughing at whatever he's writing. It's only been a couple of days and I've already caught the gossip bug.
"Did you do what I asked, Wilson?" he asked, the bad mood is only with me, as far as I can tell.
"Yes, sir" I replied, placing the last folder in its place. Attorney Lopez will be present at the meeting, that's what he said.
"Whatever" he muttered something I couldn't hear.
I sat in my designated seat and the room started filling up with well-dressed men and women. Attorney Lopez smiled at me as soon as he entered the conference room. The man is handsome, a bit older, but charm and attractiveness accompany him even to his toes. I couldn't help but blatantly watch him with every step he took towards his seat; he walks straight and with elegance. He wears his black hair perfectly styled and those brown eyes are truly captivating. He's equally as tall as Mr. Cooper, but he's much more charismatic and kind than my boss, who's a brute. I was brought back to reality by Mr. Cooper's clearing of his throat.
"I've been talking to you for a while and you haven't answered. What is it that makes you sigh so much?" I blushed completely. He caught me unabashedly looking at the lawyer ". You're here to work, not to look at men, Wilson."
"I'm not looking at men" I defended myself, who does this man think he is? ". Sorry, what were you saying?"
"Never mind, it doesn't matter anymore" he acts like a little child, my ten-month-old nephew has more personality than him.
The meeting started with a woman I hadn't seen before. My eyes caught a pair of brown eyes observing me closely, and that gaze made my face turn extremely red throughout the two hours we were inside. I didn't know where to hide my head, especially when I saw the harsh gazes the Mr. Cooper gave me from time to time. He must be thinking that I'm trying to seduce the lawyer, but that's not the case. I took a deep breath as the meeting ended and those strange glances from the man that were making me uncomfortable.
"Miss Wilson, may I have two seconds" I nodded, picking up the folders and trying to hide the nerves that being so close to him caused me.
"Yes, of course. Tell me."
"Are you free after work? I would like to invite you to dinner tonight. Of course, if you don't mind" I bit the inside of my cheek, ready to say yes.
"You can't, she already has a very important commitment tonight," I opened my eyes wide when I heard my boss's voice beside us. "What commitment is he talking about? As far as I remember, all I have to do, like every day, is take care of my nephew."
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"As you heard, tonight you must come with me to a very important business dinner, Miss Wilson," he emphasized. "But how would you remember, if when I spoke to you, you weren't paying attention because you were daydreaming. Lopez, stop confusing my employees with your presence."
They laughed, but it wasn't funny to me at all.
"It doesn't matter, tomorrow is another day," the lawyer smirked. "Goodbye, beauty. Cooper, lose that bad mood."
"Yes, of course," the lawyer left and I stared at my boss. "Bring your things, I'll wait for you in the car in five minutes. Duty calls and we can't waste time on conquests, Wilson."
He left me with a sinking feeling. What's wrong with him now? On top of being egocentric, he's bipolar. I went to the office to get my bag, and when I arrived at the parking lot, I found him talking to a girl around my age. She was looking at him flirtatiously as she twirled a strand of hair around her finger.
"Wilson, get in the car. I'll see you later, beautiful. I have a very complicated dinner ahead," I did as he asked, passing right between them.
"Don't forget about me," she winked at him and my boss smiled. Hearing conversations like these is too uncomfortable for me.
"You and I are going to solve a pending issue that's been driving me crazy, all because of you," he said once he got in the car. What? What is this crazy person talking about?
