(Thud! Thud!)Someone was beating the door.

"Help him! You have to help him",It was Radhe, Bony's cousin.

"What happened, why are you screaming, whom should I help". Bony opened the door and asked her.

"Big Brother is in danger, some guys are beating him badly", Radhe spoke as she breathed heavily.

24 May 2060, this was the fateful day Bony was born. He was the second son of a merchant family. His family had a decent wealth and reputation. Although his father was a normal merchant but due to his skill in business he was seen as an ideal businessman and was regarded as 'Sir'. His mother was a beautiful lady with a kind and charming personality.

He also had a brother who was just a year elder than him. His brother was a charming boy with a cute and adorable face. His charms resembled his mother's skin tone and his father's face. Due to his resemblance to his parents, his grandfather named him MANI, where 'MA' was taken from his father's name Mahadev and 'NI' was taken from his mother's name Nilam.

Bony was named Devesh by the astrologer for no particular reason.

They say, siblings are different from each other just so they can complement each other. Is it true? Maybe yes, maybe no. But Mani and Devesh were not just different, they were polar opposites.

Mani was wonderful at making friends, he was excellent in studies and was the most obedient child his parents could hope for. His color was fair, his hair were dark black and complemented his look, he was healthy. As a child, he was perfect in every sense. Still he was very mischievous, and not a normal one, he was a devil with an adorable smile. He used to fill plants with ink, spill oil in the house, never ate properly and above all, he used to steal stationary in school. Although stealing is a real big issue, but his Family let it slide as he was a child. The only person who really did scold him for stealing was his Mother. Still, Mani was a really pampered child.

On the other hand, Devesh who was later nicknamed Bony was the most quiet and self centered boy anyone could ever meet. He hardly had one or two friends, but he cherished them in his heart. Bony was fearless and powerful. He used to do the most things children fear, like walking through a jungle full of deadly beasts, jumping from high attitudes, and a lot of things adults thought twice of. But Bony lacked mental prowess. He used to fail in tests and got a lot of beating for being reckless with his studies from both, instructors and family. Not everyone liked him, but still he was an ideal kid for a lot of parents due to his sheer devotion towards his parents. He loved his mother so much that he used to talk to her about everything that went through his mind.

Things were going wonderful for the merchant family, but it all changed when they moved to the capital city of the state of Rajputana, Amber.

The Agrawal family had a lot of relatives in the city. Since his Brothers had settled themselves in the city, Mahadev Agrawal decided to move in the city. Since his business wasn't doing much for his family, so he decided to get involved in his Brother, Kadam's business. Kadam was a good man, he himself was the one who suggested this to Mahadev.

Mahadev and his family moved to Amber. The chemistry of Kadam and Mahadev was real good and that brought a lot of prosperity to the business. Things started to go real good and Mahadev parted from the business, seeing that now Kadam could handle the business well without him. Therefore, he started a new business and after struggling for a year, he was successful in establishing himself in the market. Times passed.

Since moving to a new town, Bony and Mani changed drastically. Bony who lost contact with his friend squeezed himself into reading and studying and became a bookworm. The only time he went back to himself was when he used to visit his hometown and met his friend. But soon he realized his best friend wasn't interested in meeting him at all. Bony felt betrayed. He became hot-tempered and violent. He didn't like to sit with any student in the class and sat alone. Furthermore, he became the complete definition of a shut in.

On the other hand, Mani started on the path to become a delinquent. He befriended some of the worst kids in the school and started to follow in their footsteps. As he was growing up, he started to show his real colors. Mani used to steal money from wherever he got the chance. He started taking drugs and got heavily addicted to them. He did everything that could kill his character and destroy the family's reputation.

Now even the family was fed of him, but they couldn't kick him out of the house, so they tried to save him from himself by sweet talks, but none of it worked. He was beaten for his crimes by his father and insulted by every member of the family, but the situation only worsened, since the person who could have made a difference and the only one Mani actually feared in the house was Bony.

"Why, what happened?" Bony asked Radhe in confusion.

"I don't know the details, but you must rush for his help…", Radhe urged. But before Radhe could finish telling where to, Bony ran as fast as he could.
