His Majesty

Having just returned from war From Killguard, a Neighboring

country

Coming back triumphed.

Andrew was tired even after sleeping for 3 days.

He wanted to go out and be like a citizen.

Drink until he fell, eat until he popped.

He had been at war since he was 22 years old.

He was a King standing 6ft 3 inches and was 32 years old.

A young king he was.

His extremely muscular-toned form was exquisite.

shoulder-length curls draped his face.

On His toned form lay tribal designs from his country draping every muscle.

One would call him the most beautiful man in the kingdom.

He came to power once his father was killed in the battle with Killguard that started 10 years ago.

He finished it just 7 days ago.

The 3-day journey home with all his men was long and they were all tired from the war.

He sat at the head of the table in the Huge dining hall looking at all his knights eating breakfast.

The large table fits all 65 of the main knights.

The varying tables that lined the sides of the room were full of knight trainees.

A bright sunny Sunday morning it was.

The light of the morning shone through the stained-glass windows shining colors of reds blues and greens on the tables in intricate beautiful designs.

Despite the number of men in the room, it was very clean.

The luxurious hall was well taken care of.

Men eat a luxurious breakfast of meats, fruits, and bread.

After all, a war of 10 years being won was something to celebrate.

The joy of avenging their late king was apparent in all of their faces as they ate their fill.

The servants dropped off food and removed all the empty dishes the second the last piece of food was removed from them.

It was a good day indeed.

Smiles and talk going on throughout the hall.

The king was different, clearly, there was something on his mind.

His Majesty sat leaned back on his throne with his head leaning on his right arm.

To his right, his Mage sat as usual. Always on his right side.

For him to be a man of magic he looked more scholarly than anything

Was fairly tall but still shorter than his majesty

He Wore glasses and kept himself well-groomed

His figure was small but still toned.

The blue-eyed blonde-haired mage had above-average looks.

Never a hair out of place.

You could tell he was educated

You couldn’t tell he was a head general.

He was obsessively observant and neat.

His name was Kyte

Eating his breakfast slowly, like a well-civilized man.

Slicing each piece of food into bite-sized pieces, formally.

Kyte antagonized his majesty as he watched him look around the room.

“Was three days of being lazy not enough to get your mind clear?”

Kyte stated sarcastically not looking away from his breakfast.

His majesty quickly turned to Kyte with a look of distaste and chuckled dryly.

They have known each other their whole lives and their relationship was more like Brothers than their respective positions.

Often talking to each other casually and jokingly.

His majesty put his napkin on his empty plate and scoot his chair back with haste.

Standing up quickly he caught the attention of everyone at the table.

The room froze and waited to see why his majesty suddenly got up.

He waved his right hand to tell them to continue.

He turned and walked towards the door to leave the dining hall.

His face looked unamused as if he hadn’t just won a war with the country that murdered his father.

Kyte stood up and smoothed the wrinkle from his pants due to him sitting with both hands.

Kyte walked behind him quickly following.

What is going on Andrew? Kyte asked in an annoyed tone

Andrew walking at a leisurely pace went through the doorway from the dining hall.

Andrew spoke without turning around.

“I’m going out” I need to be around common folk for a while.

“Are you going to take the carriage?

"You should ask the wrangler to drive you, you can’t take your horse you would be spotted easily

and you know all other animals tend to hate you,” Kyte said Playfully.

Andrew quickly turns and puts both hands in the air walking backward.

‘Well I can’t be loved by all living things now can I” Andrew says sarcastically

Andrew turns around and continues to walk to his Room in the living quarters.

Kyte stops and watches him continue down the hallway

“find a woman while your out” Kyte yells

Andrew throws up a middle finger and Kyte chuckles dryly.

Andrews thoughts drift to what Kyte said.

A woman huh? I guess it is time for me to use my leisure time for good.

A wifeless king has focus but now there isn't much to focus on besides taking care of my people.

He reached his luxurious room, the large room decorated in Expensive Green and black décor.

It was a masculine room fit for a king.

His Majesty walked to his closet to change his clothes grabbing his large hooded cape which hung amongst his luxurious pieces hidden between them.

This was not his first time going to town trying to appear as a commoner.

Andrew grabbed an old box from the back of the chest sitting inside the closet.

When he opened it, there lay a worn white shirt crumbled in it.

It belonged to his late father.

His father used it for the same purpose.

He put on the shirt, and the dark tattoos That covered his torso slightly peered through it.

The shirt draped every muscle he had on his arms even though it loosely fits.

A man of this stature was unable to hide his physique no matter what he wore.

He sighed deeply as he finished dressing as if to release the worry he held.

He walked to the large mirror that lay on the other side of the room.

Many windows brought natural light into the room.

He looked at himself for a moment the sunlight reflecting off of his lightly tanned smooth face.

I look like my father he thought as he stared at himself emotionless.

His thoughts flashed back to his father dying briefly.

He shook his head slightly trying to shake off the thought.

He lifted his large hood over his head and quickly walked to the stables.

His majesty exiting the castle door to the stables was immediately stopped by Kyte.

“Ah, a King going at a King's pace I see”

Kyte standing sideways in front of his majesty.

Arms crossed over his chest, tone sarcastic as always.

“what are your intentions Kyte,” The king said in a Demanding tone

Kyte turned to Face his Majesty.

Uncrossed his arms and pointed his arm towards a Cream-colored carriage, Gold trim on the carriage was not luxurious as others but it clearly states the person who owns it is of high status.

The wrangler prepares the two attached horses for a journey.

The king's Face Hardened.

Do you Live to Vex King Kyte? His majesty said annoyed.

If you wish to go out, I have prepared a ride for you. Kyte smiled scheming.

“I will take my horse not this atrocity.”

The king walks aggressively towards the stable, Bumping Kytes shoulder hardly as he walks past. Moving him out of his path.

“Today is Sunday, Your majesty, everyone will be going to church. You will not see a man on a horse

but Carriages everywhere."

"Your Vexing Mage’s Job is to Protect His majesty is it not?"

"This will help you blend in.”

Kyte says loudly as the king walks in the opposite direction of the Carriage towards his beloved Horses stable.

His Majesty stops walking and pauses for a moment thinking about what Kyte said.

Andrew changes his Direction and Headed toward the Carriage.

Kyte smiles in victory.

His majesty Climbs up on the Carriage and pushes the wrangler off the driver’s seat.

The wrangler Screamed as he fell to the ground.

His Majesty sat in the driver's seat instead of in the carriage.

Andrew grabbed the Reigns and whipped them as Hard as he could, quickly shocking the horses into moving.

The horses Neigh loudly and then run off, pulling the carriage quickly.

As he approached the gates he yelled at the gate keepers to move.

Kyte stood there, not a hair out of place, shaking his head as he watched the quick-tempered king leave through the gates.

The king now Angered, Heads to the Town on this Early Sunday morning.

The smell of grass and dew fills the humid air.

The chilling breeze of the spring morning blows and sweeps the few pieces of curls that dangle by his face to the side.

The Light of the morning gave his bright green eyes a glow.

His Majesty liked to take his horse out often but never a carriage.

He felt like a fool even though Kyte was right about blending in he would never admit it.

Andrew took in the sights as he steered the horses towards the town which was a mere 15-minute trip.

Gazing at all the land in his kingdom he felt the stress of his daily life lifting off of his shoulders.

Approaching the Town, all he saw was carriages lining up to get into the town entrance.

People walk happily, peacefully, and with no worry in the world.

He was to thank for that after the King's recent victory.

Even as a king, Andrew had a fascination with commoners, he envied their freedom.

He often went sightseeing in all the neighboring towns just looking at the land and the people.

It took the weight off his shoulders of the heavy burdens being a young king brought.

Slowing down he joined the line of carriages all heading in the same direction entering the town.

He in the driver's seat would help fool any prospectors.

He drove the carriage past many of his people, all saying good day to anyone that passes.

He pulled his hood down to appear warranting any conversation or eye contact all the while taking in the sights.

He had been previously recognized and the attention it warranted was more than he needed today.

Especially from the women since he was still an unwed king.

Everyone wearing their Sunday best.

Himself wearing a simple black hooded cape stood out amongst them looking as if he didn’t belong even as a driver of a carriage.

He reached the middle of the town and headed for the stable keep to put his carriage so he could venture out on foot.

The wrangler who managed the stable keep walked towards him ready to take his carriage.

The wrangler never questioned who he was or why he was there.

“The cost is 5 gurts for us to keep the carriage for the day”

Andrew quickly gets off the carriage and pays the wrangler.

“Pull your carriage to the side street and my men will take care of it.”

The towns wrangler said professionally.

Andrew followed his instructions.

Pulling to the side street of the town, Andrew saw a bunch of shops.

A butcher, flower shops, the bakery, and all of its smells filled the air.

He was getting distracted taking in the sights.

He reached the point at the side street where three men approached his carriage.

They wore worn and dirty clothing clearly, they were the men who work for the wrangler.

He jumped off of the carriage side quickly making a loud thud.

The loud sudden noise aroused the horses.

The horses started Jumping and neighing uncontrollably clearly startled.

Andrew quickly went to the horse's aid as people were looking at him due to the sudden noise.

Wooooahhh he yelled calmly and began patting their faces to comfort them.

As the horses started to calm he rubbed their faces gently and spoke to them in a calm voice.

You two couldn't let me be inconspicuous, could you?  He says sarcastically

The three men now handling the horses, Andrew watched as they boarded the carriage to take it away.

Good riddance he thought, Ready to go admire the sights.

He hears a man’s voice loudly yell “Ivey, where are you going?”

He quickly turns around to see where the noise came from.

There stood a young woman walking toward him.

The darkest curly hair that sticks out of her brightly colored cape hood.

Frozen in the position she slowly lifted her head.

Her eyes met with Andrews and he felt a passion and curiosity grow in his chest.

She was beautiful, her honey-brown eyes reflected in the sunlight.

Her facial expression turned from shock to a Lustful gaze.

Andrew felt drawn to this girl he had never seen before.

It was as if nobody else was in the area just the two of them.

Andrew stared back at the young unable to take his attention away.

Ivey, you ok? Yelled the butcher as he walked towards her.

Neither Andrew nor Ivey breaks their intense gaze on each other.

So that’s her name his majesty thought.

The butcher walking closer now staring at Andrew clearly recognized him.

Good morning Your majesty the butcher calls out bowing slightly.

An aggravated feeling arose in Andrew but his face still lay infatuated as he stared at Ivey who was staring back at him.

Her look of surprise came back after the butcher gave away who he was.

She quickly broke eye contact and turned to walk towards the butcher shop.

Andrew's curiosity is now at its peak, he had to know who she was.

He had never felt as drawn to a woman as he was at that moment.

After standing there a moment he looked around trying to decide what to do.

He was standing in the middle of the road not having made it 5 minutes into his town journey.

He looked to see if anyone else had heard the butcher and recognized him.

Three women who were walking by slightly bowed “your majesty”.

People started coming towards him from every direction.

 He had been uncovered.

People bowing and all talking over each other.

“Your majesty please meet my daughter”

“Your majesty please come to my shop”

People crowd him and try to get his attention.

Andrew still hovering over the crowd, watched Ivey walk into the butcher shop.

None of the patrons were able to distract him

People became frantic everyone wanting to speak to the king.

He put his hand up to stop everyone and they all immediately stopped talking.

Someone tell me who that woman was that just walked into the Butcher shop?

The entire crowd all turned to look as Ivey walked into the door.

“That was Ivey” yelled the wrangler.

Everyone turned around to look in the direction of the voice.

The wrangler in the driver’s seat of Andrew's carriage drives towards him and the crowd.

The crowd makes room for Andrew as he walks toward the carriage.

Everyone now silently listening.

You're going to be needing this back I’m guessing says the wrangler.

Andrew nods in appreciation and boards the carriage.

The crowd slowly disperses, hearing whispers as they all walk away.

Andrew asks the wrangler about Ivey again.

Where can I find her? Andrew says firmly as he grips the reigns.

“She lives about 5 minutes into town in an old yellow cottage he says as he points in the direction”

“She is unmarried and has turned down all of my nephew's attempts to change that.”

The wrangler says in an annoyed tone.

Andrew didn’t stay to hear anything else. He immediately headed back to the castle.

The look of her face burned into his memory.
