MISCONCEPTION OF COURTSHIP

"Dad here's your tea" I handed my newly made tea for dad. I often did this when dad's 60th anniversary with mom being held. This is now a tradition to our family.

I saw dad smiled guininely as he caresd my head "Thank you son, come sit with me"

without thinking it through, I then sat beside him. I look at dad resting my chin on my both palm as I ask "Dad you look as strenous as before and I was wondering, Why did you kept on courting mom?" I was super confuse, Cause I often saw dad pacifying mom and handling her flowers everytime and he always said that, he's courting mom! "Mom was already your wife, What's there to continue on courting her? wasn't getting her yes enough?"

But dad just bursted into laugh "Do you really wanna know why?" he ask still in his joking laughter.

I just nod, beside I was also wondering how courtship works in their time.

Dad restrain to his laugh and stared at the ceilling with a smile like as if reminding the day when they are still in their young days "Your mom had no interest on me" he started "But she didn't deslike me, I was the one who likes her, When we're in our teenage age. Your mom was too beautifull and stunning, She possess dozens of gorgeousness to the point, I couldn't stop myself peeking on her wherever she's around"

while listening, Curiousity snap me as how he get mom despite of being disinterested by her.

"Your mom never get's interested in me, Despite the fact that i am good looking and have the life to content her and also good at busenissing. My passion likes of all women in our town yet when it comes to your mother, there's no effect" He tapped my shoulder as he stared at me with a slight of squint " That's how I thought, Girl is not easy to get"

"Then how did you get mom?" I couldn't stop to ask.

he smiled again " I workhard on it" He replied in conviction "In this generation, They have the misconception of courtship. At this time when a woman didn't show interest to a man. The man would abruptly stop and will never continue as he surrender, that is very wrong" he cough as he continued " The reason why we're courting is because we dislike by a woman, We court to make them feel what we trully feel for them, how we love them and how we want to treasure them, it's very long process, Courtship is like a flower that we need to take care of, if you wouldn't hose it by water and feed it by sunrise. Dont expect it to bloom"

I couldn't help to smile when I understand what he mean.

"But ofcourse, Courtship has it limitations. We boy's, shouldn't invalidate girls no matter how we like them. We should respect their consent as well, so if a girl says 'no', it's time for you to stop. Courtship is a process where we honor and value our love ones, so we should value their consent too" he even added, And his last line. Grew my lips into smile that lasted in my heart.

"Courtship last forver son, If she already said yes, did not means for you to stop courting her. Remember that they say 'yes' because of how you treat them when you were courting them...It simply means that they love your attitude when you were courting them so never change that attitude after they say 'yes'. So never ever stop courting your girl son"

and that make sense and made me realize, you'll know if you're in a right person if that man never ever stop courting you.
