"Hah, come on. Don't even think of trying to charm Mr. Martin. Just leave," the assistant said, chasing Renata away as if she was a stray dog.
As the group left, Renata could only watch them disappear from her sight.
Inside a limited-edition Porsche outside the hotel, the assistant pleaded for his boss's forgiveness. "Mr. Martin, please forgive me for my mistake last night!"
It was the assistant's fault that Martin was drugged the night before and was forced to have sex with a woman he wasn't even acquainted with.
"It sure is your fault," Martin grunted as if he was the demon lord that had ascended from hell.
Yet when he recalled the incident last night, he couldn't help but drown in the thoughts of the woman's moans and quivering body. The image kept appearing in his mind again and again.
If not for that woman whom he had spent a night with by accident, he would never have helped the lady that had ran into him a moment ago.
Martin could tell that the woman he had sex with the night before was a ****** because when he got up the next day, the woman was gone but the bedsheets had been stained with blood.
"S-sir?" Luis called.
Martin scoffed, his expression turning stern. "Find her. I don't care whatever it takes, find her."
At the same time, Renata rushed to the hospital as fast as she could.
As soon as she got there, she was eager to pay her younger brother's medical bill.
However, when she got to the ward, her brother was nowhere to be found.
"You must be Renata, I assume?"
"W-who are you? Where's my brother? Where did you take him to?" Renata's eyes widened.
The ward was eerily quiet with a middle-aged man standing by the window.
Renata could instantly tell from his appearance, from his expensive suit and watch, that he was a rich person.
The man was in fact none other than her biological father.
She had heard from her neighbor at an early age that their father, who had come from a poor family and became successful over time, abandoned his family, leaving her mother to bring her and her little brother up alone. Her mother had passed away three years ago.
...
Three months later, Riviera City.
"Kevin, when are you going to let me see my brother?" a panicked voice echoed around the majestic mansion.
Kevin, Renata's biological father, had threatened her with her little brother's life three months prior to return with him to Riviera City.
"I'll let you see him as soon as you agree to marry the young master of the Martin family."
In the past, Kevin had abandoned his family and married the daughter of a rich family in order to become successful in Riviera City. The mother of his new wife made him promise that if he had a daughter with the new wife, he would marry her into the Martin family.
But word around the street was that the young master of the Martin family was a useless cripple who could not achieve anything.
There was no way Kevin would marry his daughter off to such a useless man, but he needed someone to make the sacrifice so that he could get some money from that prestigious family.
"Renata, listen here. If you marry the young master of the Martin family, I'll not only let you see your little brother but also get him the best treatment and send him to the best school in the country. You can even enjoy all the riches they have to offer," Kevin persuaded.
"You better think this through. Is your brother's life more important than your own marriage?" Renata's stepmother, Kevin's current wife, mocked. "How often do you think a village girl like you gets a chance to marry into a prestigious family? If you aren't going to help us, then we'll have no choice but to unplug your brother's life support."
The stepmother even took her phone out, pretending to call the hospital.
There was no way a weak little lady like Renata could go against this family's wish.
In the end, she had no choice but to agree to the forced proposal. "Fine! I'll do it!"
"Well, ain't that easy?" the stepmother scoffed. "You should thank your ancestors for giving you the chance to marry into such a well-off family."
Since she was no longer a ****** anymore, she didn't mind marrying a cripple if it meant she could save her brother's life.
The wedding day soon arrived.
There was no extravagant ceremony nor was there a big crowd. The Martin family only sent a Porsche over to pick her up and hand Kevin a wedding gift—which was a considerable amount of money.
Kevin and his wife accepted the gift with huge grins on their faces. As Renata left, they reminded her that she should treat her in-laws with the utmost respect.
"Mom, Dad, you guys better keep your promise and take good care of my brother. I'll come back to visit him when I can," Renata warned with tears rolling down her cheeks as she was about to enter the sports car.
If anything were to happen to her little brother, she would make sure her father and stepmother suffered for it.
"Ms. Moreno, please get in the car," the butler of the Martin family urged.
Renata nodded and entered the expensive Porsche.
The black sports car then sped towards the most expensive mansion in the country, the mansion of the Martin family.
