Chapter 7

We continued to do it until Kevin finally came on my body. He was the first to leave the dressing room. He told me to wait there while he went to get me something new to wear.

My clothes were dirtied and it would be awkward to walk out in them.

I did not have to wait long inside the dressing room. When Kevin handed me the dress he had picked, I was shocked to see that it was the newest addition to the store's lineup.

That one single dress was priced at 30 thousand dollars.

I gasped and was about to ask Kevin to get me another one when I remembered Mollie's words.

If Jeremy could buy such an expensive dress for Mollie, then there was no reason for me to not buy it as well.

Since I still had Jeremy's credit card with me, even if I bought the dress, Jeremy would be the one paying in the end.

Since money was not a problem anymore, I did not feel guilty about buying the dress.

After I changed out of my plain clothes and into the expensive dress, I looked at myself in the mirror. It was a white and black striped dress designed to emphasize a woman's curves. In the dress, I looked prettier than I thought I would ever be.

Just as everyone always said, a woman was easier to coax than a man. A pretty dress or an expensive bag was the easiest way to a woman's heart.

And that saying was 100% accurate.

After I changed into the dress, I got out of the changing room and took Jeremy's card out to pay for it.

"The mister over there has already paid for it," the cashier said with a smile.

I spun around to look at Kevin. He was looking at me in awe, as if he was admiring me in the dress.

I did not want to take advantage of his kindness as the dress was very expensive. I walked to him and whispered, "Drive me to a bank later. I'll give you back the money."

As most men were prideful creatures, it would be best to not let anyone know that I was planning to give the money back to Kevin. That was why, to not hurt his pride, I told him in a low voice.

Kevin did not say a thing. Instead, he pulled me to the couch and asked me to sit down before requesting the shop assistant to bring me a pair of shoes.

He then knelt down and personally took off my slippers before slipping a pair of black and white high heels on.

Then, the shop assistant started to do my hair and even applied makeup on my face.

When they were done, I looked at myself in the mirror and was stunned for a long while.

I never thought that I could or would ever look so gorgeous.

Even if I were to compare myself to Mollie at that moment, I did not think I would lose to her.

"Is this me?" I asked as I touched my face, unable to believe what I was seeing.

Kevin stood behind and rested his hands on my shoulders while nodding. "Yes. This is you. You're gorgeous."

His affirmative words warmed my heart.

When I asked for the price of the high heels, the shop assistant replied with a smile, "They are already paid for."

When Kevin was not looking, I quickly sneaked a peek at the price on the shoe box. It was 19 thousand dollars for the high heels.

The total was close to 50 thousand dollars if I included the dress.

It was making me anxious that he spent such an exorbitant amount of money in the span of a few minutes.

It only solidified my decision to give Kevin back his money.

From what I knew at that time, Kevin was just a normal salaryman working at Solstitial Group. Even though the company was known for treating their employee well with a higher salary, there was no way he was earning more than 20 thousand dollars a month.

Yet, the dress and high heels had cost him nearly 50 thousand dollars.

Living in the city was costly and it would take him a long time to save that much money. However, if I were to tell him that I was going to give him the money back, it might hurt his pride.

In the end, I had no choice but to convince him by saying, "I know you have money, but the card I have is Jeremy's. It's a waste if I don't use it."

Kevin's reaction after that was completely out of my expectations. He reached out to pat my head and smiled. "There's no way I can let you lose to Mollie, right? Also, are you really going to wear the cheap dress that Jeremy is getting for you?"
