Chapter 6

When I saw that video, I could not suppress my anger any longer. I did not even change before leaving my house.

Unfortunately, I happened to run into Kevin at the elevator. He scanned me from top to bottom before asking, "Where are you going in that?"

I was still wearing my comfy clothes and slippers. My image was pretty much ruined. As for Kevin who was standing in front of me, he was wearing a pressed button-down and a pair of tailored trousers. It was evident that he had a highly important position at his work.

Compared to him, I was like a nanny.

However, when I thought of what Jeremy and Mollie were doing at the changing room in the apparel store, I did not have the time to entertain Kevin. When the elevator door opened, I dashed straight for the exit without saying anything.

Kevin quickly caught up to me and asked, "Where are you going? I'll drive you there."

I turned to look at him. Suddenly, it dawned on me that bringing him along to witness Jeremy and Mollie making out was a good idea too.

I nodded and followed Kevin to his car before telling him, "Please take me to LuxVogue."

Thankfully, the store was not too far away from the place we lived in. As soon as the car stopped, I charged straight into the store. It was clear from my body language that I came to wreak havoc.

The shop assistant, who was shocked to see my enraged expression, did not even greet me when I entered the store.

My eyes were like a scanner searching through the changing rooms that were available in the store. When I located the one I was looking for, I stormed straight towards it.

Just as I was about to kick the door open, someone grabbed me from behind and stopped me.

I turned around and saw it was Kevin who had stopped me.

He shook his head and pulled me into the changing room next to the one I was about to open.

The changing room was so small that when we both entered it, we did not even have space to turn around.

Our bodies were pressed so close to each other that I could hear his breathing. However, I could also hear the soft moans that were coming from the room next to ours.

I could not help but picture what Jeremy and Mollie were doing in there. I was so furious that I was having a hard time holding back my urge to drag them out of the room and hit them with all my might.

I tightened my fists so hard that my body began to tremble. Tears had filled my eyes and they were threatening to fall at any moment.

Suddenly, Kevin grabbed my hands and slowly opened them up. When he saw the blood that was welling on my palm because of my nails, he pulled my hands close to his mouth and gently blew at the wounds.

When I saw how kind he was treating me, the anger inside me died down slightly.

The tears began to roll down my cheeks. I lifted my face and kissed him.

We were interrupted by my mother and mother-in-law that morning. We were only halfway through with my revenge on Jeremy.

I thought it was the right time to finish what we started.

A few moments later, I heard Jeremy's voice outside. "Hey! Remember the two dresses that I purchased earlier? Get me another set of the same one!"

"Why do you need another set?" It was Mollie's dissatisfied voice. "Are you thinking of giving them to April?"

"Babe, I have to. I have to at least bring her something since I haven't been home for a whole week."

"Fine! If you want to buy her something, then do it. But don't get her the same dresses that you are getting me." Mollie paused for a few seconds and added, "Get her the cheapest one here."

Even the cheapest dress from LuxVogue would cost around a few thousand dollars. The better-looking ones could easily go up to a 5-digit figure per piece.

When I used to go shopping with Jeremy in the past, we would only window shop at LuxVogue, staring at the dresses from outside through a window. We did not even have the guts to walk into the store then.

Jeremy even promised me back then that when we finally started making big bucks, he would buy clothes from LuxVogue for me to wear every day.

If I did not know better, I would have gotten so excited and touched by his gift. I might have even started to forgive him because of it.

However, all I could feel now was a stinging insult.
