Live Up To The Spring

Chapter 1

Without knowing how it happened, I had sex with my neighbor. I could not believe that the one who cheated would be me.

Half a year ago, after my wedding, I moved into this new condominium with my husband. Not long after that, a couple moved into the unit opposite ours.

Since we moved to our new places at almost the same time, we greeted each other and it did not take long for our two families to become friends.

However, this friendship was completely shattered on that day.

A few days before that happened, I was on a business trip. Since my husband's, Jeremy Damon, birthday was coming up, I worked extremely hard and fast so that I could return two days earlier. I planned to give him a surprise celebration, but I did not expect to see Jeremy having sex with our female neighbor when I opened the door.

In a fit of undiluted rage, I fought with the female neighbor. Instead of protecting me, my husband defended her. He even pushed me to the floor.

What happened next was a shock to me. Because of that fall, I lost the baby inside me.

To be frank, part of it was my fault too. As I was too busy with work the past few weeks, I did not notice that my period did not come. If not for the blood that was dripping down my legs to the floor, I would never have known that I lost a baby.

Despite this, my husband did not even bother to look at me once. He shielded his lover, who was in shock and left without saying a word.

He left me alone, sitting on the cold hard floor. It was the male neighbor who noticed me on his way back and swiftly took me to the hospital.

At the hospital, the doctor told me that my work stress, coupled with the push from my husband, caused my miscarriage. I had no choice but to remove a life from my belly.

When the cold and metallic surgery equipment entered my body inside the operation theater, I could not hold the rage inside of me any longer.

When I got out of surgery, the first thing I told Kevin Clarence, my male neighbor, was that I wanted to take revenge on them.

I remembered that Kevin gently pushed me back and chided, "Don't think about it first. What you need now is to rest."

"But, aren't you angry? Your girlfriend cheated on you with Jeremy. Don't you want to exact revenge on her as well? We can do that by having sex, no?" I tried to convince him. Pleaded with him even. I even went as far as grabbing his hand and placing it on my ****** without any embarrassment. "Look, my body isn't that bad, right? You won't lose anything by having sex with me."

He looked at me as if he could not understand my reasoning and retracted his hand. "If you still feel the same a month later, then we'll talk."

That was the first time I asked a man to have sex with me yet I was turned down instantly. It was extremely awkward for me.

Kevin drove me back home after that. He was quiet on the way back.

When I got back, my apartment was completely shrouded in darkness. When I turned the lights on, the only thing I saw was the mess I had made when I fought with Jeremy's lover.

On the floor were also the roses and presents I had prepared for Jeremy.

Without any hesitation, I threw the roses and presents into the trash before heading back to the bedroom, all the while fighting back tears.

Throughout the night, all I could think of was the scene of my husband moving his hips on top of another woman. It was such a disgusting yet saddening feeling.

Even though people like to insist that we should not feel sad for a man who has cheated, when it happened to me, there was no way I could remain calm about it. To make matters worse, we had just gotten married and the happy life I was looking forward to was shattered in an instant.
