After the exam

Finally, lunch time.

As expected Rachel is the first one directly coming at me to ask whether I did well or not.

By judging the way she walked at me, i can sense all the curiosity written on her face, I decided not to disappoint her as I lift my hand and gave ‘thumbs up’

She,then revealed a sigh and came to normal state and soon her expression of serious turned to happy mode.

I know what was she expecting from me which i couldn’t let her know.

As she came and said,”hey, where is Nick, Olivia and all the friends?”

I replied, “they were so busy discussing the answers of the exam”

“I can surely tell that the questions appeared in the exam were already explained by me”she emphasized.

“Hmm” i could no longer gave a perfect answer by letting her know the truth i may spout. I looked down.

Actually, she is right. If only i could have practiced the questions she explained without any fail,I would been scored more than 40 marks.

I could only blame on myself.

As I lifted my head up only to watch Nick coming along talking with Zoe. Along with them, i saw Olivia so happy looking at them.

Nick gave a glance at me and came to me and said,”John,…-don’t worry, i will not ask about the exam”

I remain silent.

Olivia, Zoe came to our table.

As Nick asked, “what are the today plans?”

I looked Nick and said cheerfully, “let’s go to the restaurant that opened recently”

“Great” Zoe said with excitement.

We chatted happily. I became happy too watching them come to normal state.

After i completed my lunch and was about to get up from my table, Jack came to me and said seriously, “John, teacher Clara wants to have a word with you "

After listening it, everyone stopped from doing their works and looked at me.

As I said,”I’m going " and followed to the staff room.

As I stood at the entrance, i clenched my fists and looked down not daring to go forward with a slight hesitation .

Miss Clara was observing me from the third table that she was sitting in and said,”oh John, yes come in”

I could clearly see some kind of disappointment in her face .

I walked so carefully to her. And said,” yes, Miss Clara.”

She gave a deep look into my eyes and a silence was filled around the air surrounded by me.

She finally opened her voice saying,”Do you think you could continue studying here with the scores you have got?”

I obviously knew how worst i did in this examination. And replied, “No”

“Then why did you do like this? You could have told me to get you into some tuition or i would have personally teach you”

I didn’t say anything as i looked down.

“Do you know how serious is your this time about your studies?

If you don’t score well this year, i promise you he will surely transfer you to the other high standard school” she finally said those words with a hint of sadness in her face.

Finally, school was finished.

We used to go by walking though we have bicycle.

Finally, Nick opened his mouth to ask, “Did she scold you again?”As if he doesn’t have anything to do with my scores.

I suddenly remembered miss Clara saying, “Actually, this time you have scored 25 marks and i had to admit you improved a bit, that’s not enough. Study hard”

“Where is Olivia?” I asked him.

“There she is " he pointed towards her.

What happened to her? She doesn’t look good.

I went to her and asked, “what’s wrong with you?”

She replied, “A boy from St. Ann’s school had confessed me and today he said he wanted to meet me.”

“What?” Nick said before i could even spell a word with a scent of angry.

Hearing that, Olivia scared and backed off.

As Nick said,”so you want to go to him to say a yes? And revealing your feelings to him too?”

His sounded so serious and so unpleasant and angry expression.

Olivia quickly said, “hell no”

“Then,why do you have to go meet him if he asked you to do so?”

“I want to clear this misunderstanding as soon as possible.”

Hearing her saying this,he said,”fine, i will be coming with you "

They just spoke like that without even bothering me to say a single word. What did they treat me as? AIR?

As I said ,”I’M IN”

Nick turned to me and,”no, you don’t come. This is a matter between a boy and boy.”

Hey, this is not fair. I want to show my own manliness too.

“No, i insist” I said quickly not letting him to say anything contrary.

I knew he care about me. But just give me one chance to fight for my friend.

I rushed over to Rachel and said,”Rachel, you guys go home. We have some work on the way”

“How did you score in this test?”

“25” as I said slowly.

She looked at me with her wide eyes and she didn’t keep any expression. Just like that.

Immediately i gave a ‘peck’ on her cheek and said happily, “I am little improved, next time i will definitely score than 30”

She looked shock. And then did I realize that something is wrong with the surrounding.

A girl said, “oh god, john kissed Rachel?”

And another girl, “how lovely”

Another one, “John is so good at coaxing his girl”

“Is Rachel his girlfriend?”
