The Red thread

Ragid and Baltor are waiting for the eagle messenger to arrive in the balcony of the inn where all they decided to stay. It is already afternoon and Ragid is suspicious why the messenger is late. A few minutes and there it came the eagle. Baltor put his arm up and the eagle flew into his arm. Ragid get the paper with the blue color code and notice the cloth above it. He untied it and closed his eyes. He put the cloth under his nose and surprise " It is a human blood" a suspicious voice of Ragid. Baltor wiped the herbal leaves on top of the eagles head and smell it also with his two fingers. " This herbal leaves are common near this area. I usually saw this while we used the forest route before. But something is diffirent." a serious tone in Baltor's voice. " I can smell the pine trees from this cloth. And there are no pine trees here. " said by Ragid. " I remember now general. Before we used to camped near a village where there are lot's of pine trees near the area. The village after this one. " recalled by Baltor. " That village is always a pirates victim because they are near from the treasure's place. " remembered by Ragid. " How many hours by horse ? " asked by Ragid. " Five to eight hours general . " answered of Baltor. " Less.... I will go alone and at exactly one hour come after me. Wake them up. " he ordered. " Right away general!" Baltor's alerted voice. Ragid whistles and a few minutes, Red and Fire came running toward him. From the balcony he jumped and as he calculated he fall into Red's back. He didn't waste anytime and let Red runs fast with Fire at his back.

How many hours have passed and Athan who climbed the tree feels hungry. The body of the lifeless chief was being carried by the pirates aside. From what she understand is that they are waiting for someone. It seems they are not planning to kill anybody yet before that person arrives. And whoever that is , Athan can feel that he's more dangerous that these ordinary pirates.

After almost four hours , Ragid can see the entrance of the village. He didn't make any noise to attract attention but he manage to enter in a house where from that spot he can see the villager being hostage by the pirates. It is not common for the pirates to wait this long hour before killing all the villagers. They are waiting for someone, the big boss? . Ragid left Red in the forest to hide with Fire not to attract attention. He counted about 50 pirates together with the acting leader. He can take them all but what if they will take the villagers as a hostages so he lure 5 person from the left first. It's easier and he silently break their neck. Since it's dark the leader didn't notice anything. He manage to lure them one by one in the dark and for the last person it was the acting leader. " You will pay for this... " the acting leader manage to say before his last breath. The villagers are used to it because this is not the first time it happened. They stand and thank him. Everyone help to get the chief body and plan to make a proper burial for him. " It is the general! It's him! It's him! " one kid shouted thus this is not the first time that the general had saved them. Because it's dark they didn't clearly saw his face but the expression of their faces brightens. " Yeah it's him. "the women shouted as if nothing happened. Athan saw it all that happened but he didn't clearly see the hero's face. She smiled as she climbed down the tree and decided to sleep under it. She embraced herself and stared at the big moon .

Athan opened her eyes with with sword on her neck. It was Ragid's sword on her neck. He is there with the piece of her cloth on his left hand and the sword on her neck with the right hand " It was you wasn't it? " he is talking about the piece of cloth in his left hand. " Yes I was the one who sends help. " an honest answer from Athan. Baltor smiled " So you have read it? " he asked. Athan remembered the blue paper. " N-No ! I didn't of course. I was trying to asked for help! " She insisted.

Ragid knew that the little man is telling the truth but seeing him sleeping peacefully makes him wants to tease him. What if some pirates saw him and killed him while sleeping, it is also a lesson for the little man to be cautious always. Ragid removed his sword from Athan's neck. "Where are you heading? " asked by Baltor. " To the capital? " pouted by Athan who is at the moment trying to stand and removing the dirt from her clothes. " Interesting. Traveling alone is dangerous these days because of the pirates" suggested by Ragid. " I can protect myself" while Athan rolled her eyes. " That is out of option. Come with us to prove your innocence" final words of the cold general. It was the first time that Athan irritated, this man really knew how to end a person's patience. She smiled wryly and stomped her feet while walking towards the soldiers.

" Fire? " a familiar horse beside the other horses had catched the attention of Athan. "She's beautiful isn't she ? ... she's the mate of Red. As you can see the general's stallion. " Baltor explained while walking. " Nobody can ride her, she's worthy of her name Fire. What is your name anyway? " a friendly approached of Baltor. " Athan is my name" answered by Agatha. " Someone you knew in the capital? " he asked again. " No one" she answered. " How about being a soldier? " he suggest. " No. Maybe ...maybe creating a family and having children" she answered as wished by the old man. " Not bad lad..." he answered.
