A heroes downfall

Vincent looked up still in shock by being struck he stammered in a haste as the words came out he asked simply, my lord what have u done wrong i was told to kill our enemies king and have done my job his words strongly left him as he spoke is this not what I was meant to do sire? The king looked upon him angrily he spoke almost enraged, I sent out a messenger to call off the attack his emissary was sent to our kingdom and begged for peace between our bickering kingdoms he looked up almost heavy hearted and saddened Vincent your almost like a second son to me but whether this was a mistake or not I take full blame for this but I'm sorry he quickly turned and the rage left his eyes instead they were full of sadness, this left Vincent in fear of what was to come. The king spoke loud at both his people and council, I condemn the returning party for there deeds for they have attacked our newly allied kingdom, Vincent's heart dropped almost in a daze he looked up and could not believe his ears the king quickly continued, for there acts they must be punished and banished to the outerworld to live in the dangerous and unsafe forest I must pass this judgment in regards to the peace we formed in hopes to keep it with our new allies for our people will suffer far to greatly at the wrath of our new allies take them away, quickly the guards took them to the dungeon they struggled angered and confused but Vincent was stuck in awe speechless as he looked at his king once more before being rushed away soon the dark stone walls of the dungeon were his new home before the morrow came and he was forced into the forest for the rest of his days his men were with him locked up and chatting about the events that take place one of his men spoke it was Ron one of his old friends, Vincent how could this be we can't make sense of it wasn't our jobs done shouldn't we be home instead of confined in a dungeon ready to be cast into a terrible forest? Vincent looked at them and pondered then he spoke, men the king did it to save the people ad well as us, but how? why what do you mean? they all questioned and murmured as he continued because he wanted to keep the peace but he also didn't wanna put us to death either he did both today he looked at them stalwart and sure men im sorry this mission fell to you had i gone alone maybe this terrible situation would be only mine to bare.They all looked and one spoke, we would have followed you anywhere even to this end sir we charged in proudly sure of our cause we truly share in the blame, Vincent looked and proclaimed no man could ask for better soldiers under his command, he looked around. He looked around and said to them you will not have to go he smiled a plan obvious in his mind and he told it to his men excitedly, he made them huddle as he excitedly told them his plan in great detail.
