Songkran (2)

The footsteps seemed to come from the other side of the wall, and the light shone in after a few minutes. The sudden brightness dazzled Rain's eyes. The next second, a heavily armed army appeared before her eyes.

Under the torchlight, a few soldiers came forward and looked carefully at her appearance,

nodded to each other and replied to the walkie-talkie on their shoulders, "Commander, we have found the hostage!"

The soldiers pulled Rain out of the maze. The sun was still shining outside, but the time seemed to have passed years for her. There was no more Xavier, his men, the helicopter, and the cars on the maze square. A military helicopter parked on the ground, and someone jumped down from it to help Rain board. "Dr. McConnell, it's okay. We'll send you back to Funtain now."

Till the helicopter landed over in Funtain and she was sent back to her city hospital for a body checkup, Rain suddenly realized that she had been rescued. The ecstasy of the sudden freedom pounded her heart.

She learned about the rumors about her through the hospital staff. The news reported that the criminals had captured her as a hostage in a conflict. After receiving the information, the government had sent the army to rescue her right away.

It took five days to bring her back home. In order to make her feel better and help her go through the trauma, the hospital exceptionally gave her three days of leave to take a rest at home.

It had been five days, so it meant she was trapped in the maze for the whole two days.

While resting at home, she saw the news about the recent conflicts on TV. There was her kidnapping and rescuing news in the evening, saying it was the work of an anti-government armed group. The kidnapping was probably about discontent with a regulation.

The news reports on TV and the rumors in the hospital were quite far from the truth. What did Mr. Gibson and his men exactly do? What had happened to Xavier in the tomb that day? Rain had no answers to these questions, but she knew things were more complicated than it seemed. Unfortunately, she would never have a way to learn.

She would like to know what happened to Xavier afterward, so she asked the military when they had rescued her. However, none of them had told her a word about him. After returning to work in the hospital, she had tried everything to find information about this man, but he seemed to disappear from her life completely.

The last thing she remembered was when they had been at the entrance to the cemetery, he had turned to look at her in the dark. Rain couldn't even have a way to prove to herself that Xavier had been in her life.

Life just slowly turned calm again as usual. She still fought in the emergency room every day, where saving life was the only thing she needed to do. She usually took the shift for more than seventy hours, occasionally taking a nap in the break room and returning to work.

The physical tiredness finally brought her mind to a state of numbness, but he even wished she could have been busier so that that mysterious man would stop showing up in her mind.

Before she realized it, two months had passed. It was the 13th of April, the day of Songkran. It was the national day in Thungland, and she finally could have a long holiday.

Early in the morning, some friends from the hospital came to her house to help her dress up. The girls changed into their bikinis with a long skirt and crop top outside to enjoy this particular festival.

Her colleagues helped her tie her hair up, decorate a yellow flower as the local tradition, and put on light makeup. After the makeover, Rain's glamor was even more impressive with her foreign look.

Although the sun had just risen from the sky, the streets were already bustling. Men in clothes and shorts were riding on the backs of elephants, and children were running with water guns and buckets in their hands. Everyone couldn't wait for the festival to come.

As people started to pour the water, the city suddenly turned into a land of water full of joy, and the crystal clear water was dancing in the sky. Rain was holding a bucket, but before she could attack others, her body was soaked.

The doors of the houses on the street were opened. With the locals and foreign tourists who came for Songkran, every corner of the city was filled with people. In the chaotic crowd, Rain soon got separated from her friends.

To avoid the increasingly fierce attack from others, she squeezed out of the street to stand under the eaves. While catching her breath, she tried to find her friends through splashes and the crowds.

At one point, Rain found out that she had already followed the flow of people to the shopping street entrance. She stood at a higher point to look around, but a figure made her heart skip a beat. Although it was just a glimpse, the man quickly disappeared at the pub entrance on the other side of the street. However, Rain couldn't be more confident that the man was Xavier Lweis.

Before she could think twice, Rain had separated from the crowd and rushed towards the pub. It wasn't easy to get through the streets filled with chaos, so she couldn't look messier while reaching the other side. All the clothes were already wet and wrapped her body tightly, revealing her willowy shape. After hesitating for just a second at the pub entrance, she made up her mind and walked in.

The pub was opened as usual. After coming in from outside with bright sunshine, the dim lighting made it hard for her to adjust the vision for a moment. The music was deafening. There were still a lot of young people partying here instead of going out for the festival. Seeing her, some men couldn't help but whistle flirtatiously at her.

Rain instantly felt a sense of regret. Coming back to her senses, she realized that what she had seen earlier might haven't been clear. What was worse, even if that figure was Xavier, it was nearly impossible for her to find him with the dancing crowd in the pub.

Rain then decided to leave the pub, but the men on the dancing floor came to her and surrounded her as if she was prey. She dodged and tried to avoid any physical contact with them, but she could only find herself getting further and further away from the entrance.

After a while, she finally got rid of these creepy men and reached the bathroom behind the dancing floor. Hiding inside, she leaned her hand on the sink and looked at herself in the mirror.

Why had she chased behind that figure? Rain couldn't figure out the reason either. That man was the incarnation of danger. Even she had found him, what could she have said to this man in her mind? Thank you?

Rain instantly found her behavior was more than ridiculous. She washed her face with cool water to calm herself down, but her heart almost stopped when she raised her head. Looking through the mirror, She saw Xavier standing behind her and quietly staring at her.

Rain turned around immediately, dumbfounded for a long time. Before she could say a word, he had come forward to kiss her fiercely. He pushed her into a bathroom and closed the door, hugging her so tightly that she almost couldn't breathe.

He lifted her vigorously, and her back was against the cold marble wall. At the same time, she had no choice but to wrap her legs around this man's strong waist.

Xavier's movements were violent, each kiss and bite causing her pain and leaving dark red and evil stains on her body. His hands explored wickedly over her body, which awakened the wildness and madness in some unknown parts of her body.

Rain could hear herself gently moan. This man's dominant attack stopped her brain from thinking. All of a sudden, it seemed that someone had come to the bathroom, so she tried to bite the back of her hand to stop herself from making a noise.

However, he pulled her hand down and held it tightly, lowering his head to tease her soft and tender breasts. The moment his tongue touched her ******, an arousing voice came from her throat. The hardness inside his pants pushed against her and slightly rubbed her body, which made her get afraid of losing control.

After Xavier heard the other person in the toilet stay for a while and leave, his sudden lust in his pants gradually faded away. The force on her body turned softer, and the lips on hers turned slower.

Rain moved her hands, wrapping on his neck down through his shoulder, feeling a strange sticky sensation. With her wet clothes, she hadn't realized anything at the beginning. However, this similar liquid touch made her put on her guard right away.

Rain pushed away Xavier, who lowered his head and had a pale face. "You are such a dummy. Why did you follow me in the toilet?" he stared at her with his sharp eyes.

Rain didn't reply to his question. Looking at her hand, she felt a sense of dizziness crawling onto her.

There was nothing but a touch of bloody red on her palm.
