A PLOT OF TWIST

The large gate of the hall opened with a screeching sound and four shadows appeared on the ground. Zira had no intention of looking at her bidders as none of them were going to make it easy for her to survive this hell. Her eyes followed the shadows which came closer to the seats and then she noticed the heavy boots settling between two front legs of the chairs. The sounds of the boots stopped but one chair still remained empty and by judging the placements of all legs, the space in the middle seemed vacant.

Suddenly Karl's voice echoed from the back, making it obvious that even he was afraid to make any mistake today.

"Welcome my Lords...It's a huge honor for me to host you gentlemen today...as you all know that every year on this day,  we present you royal folks with the most expensive and alluring purchase", Karl said with an enthusiastic voice which made Zira quiver in fear. Being addressed with names like "purchase" was shattering her soul into pieces.

The muffling sounds of the bidders prickled her ears. Even though her gaze was fixed on the ground, she could still feel their predatory gazes on her body. Suddenly Karl made his way to the front of the stage and clasped his hands on his back as if he was scared to say something.

"Apologies my lords....but can we wait for Mr. Eli before starting the bidding?", He said and started scratching his fingers out of anxiety.

"There is no need for that...Eli will not be joining for the bidding...he has no intention of keeping slaves....yet", a voice came from the right side which made Zira look up in curiosity. She didn't expect the devil to speak in a composed manner.

When she looked up, she saw Gabriel looking at her with a confused look.

"But Lord Gabriel...he himself registered his name for today...", Karl said with a frustrated look on his face.

"As i said...Eli wanted me to relay the message so that we can continue without him...so what are we waiting for?", Gabriel said, annoyed with the questionnaire.

"Sure sure....so let's start the bidding", Karl said and stood behind the podium to start the bid.

Everything went blank in her mind when the devils started raising their prices to buy her. Every single sound died before she could even register the surrounding because it doesn't matter who buys her. At the end of the day, she would suffer the cruelty for being human.

Suddenly everything went silent and the a loud thud came from the podium. That's when she realized that the bidding is over and she has been sold. Now she looked up to the spectators and saw everyone's faces. Gabriel's face was calm and composed like a gentleman, Ivan gave her a look full of pity as if something bad has happened, Marcus scoffed in disbelief and then she came across Krum's face who had a murderous grin on his face. He lifted a finger towards Zira and mouthed some words at her. She had no idea what he was saying but somehow her heart understood what had happened.

"And sold....Congratulations Mr. Krum", Karl said in a cheerful voice and everything came to a halt in front of her eyes.

She was doomed.
