As night fell, Jenna took a shower and walked out of the bathroom while drying her hair. The bedroom was silent tonight, and probably tonight she would be alone again.

Edward had always been mysterious, and very few people knew about his whereabouts except Ben. It was common if she did not see him for more than ten days.

She rarely gave him a call. At first, she didn't want to call him. Because she had no deep affection for him at the beginning and she felt relaxed when he wasn't with her.

But as time went by, she did not dare to call him.

She was like treading on eggshells and this feeling troubled her. She thought that she might have a kind of unspeakable feeling for him.

In the end, she shrunk back.

She thought, "As long as I don't give my heart to someone, I won't get hurt."

After drying her hair, Jenna slid under the covers. She leaned against the headboard and started reading a book.

She had seen the book on the bookshelf in Edward's study. The abstruse language was about some ancient and primitive culture. She could not imagine he would read this kind of book.

She used to think of him as a cruel and murderous man. She thought they were from different worlds.

But she had changed her thoughts as time went by.

He was extremely complicated, like the dim light in the deepest part of the jungle. She got lost in his world, and the dim light made her want to see his true color.

Jenna finally found out that he showed no mercy to her at all. He had not only confined her body but also her heart.

After reading for a while, Jenna had to admit that she couldn't see through what was in Edward's mind.

She rested her eyes for a while and turned on the TV with the remote control.

Jenna was stunned when she saw what was on the screen.

She saw Edward.

It was not surprising to see him in the evening financial news.

The Hartman family's business moved between shadows and light. It was a big taxpayer. Edward had always been extravagant when it came to events demonstrating its influence. This had scared away his competitors.

This news was a rerun, which was mainly about Edward having made a deal with a foreign company and spending a lot of money to sign a new spokeswoman for the new season.

The financial news focused on the economy. However, the photographer knew clearly what the audience wanted to see, so the lens was focused on Edward and that new beautiful spokeswoman who stood by his side.

The camera zoomed in on Edward's face. Jenna had to admit that this man was really good-looking. She looked at him and thought, "Can I use the word 'good-looking' to describe him? Maybe he is far more than just good-looking."

The beautiful spokeswoman gently took his arm and would not let it go. This detail had clearly shown her love for him.

Jenna couldn't see whether his eyes were also filled with tenderness.

She finally decided to turn off the TV.

She put down the book and got out of bed. She needed to find something else to do.

Men were unfaithful by nature. After all, it was normal for a man to be single if he often traveled around the world for work. But they would have needs, which could be satisfied as long as they wanted to. That was why most rich men would seek pleasure and pleasure only.

She looked at him in shock. "When did you come in?"

"Five minutes ago."

He answered casually and concentrated on kissing her slender neck. "What were you thinking?"

"You know what I was thinking."

"I want to hear it from your mouth."

This man was being unreasonable. She turned her head away, unspeaking.

The next second, she felt his hand sliding into her pajamas.

She turned to look at him.

"Alright, I was thinking..." She asked in a light voice, "Do you have to sell your body to find a spokesperson?"

Edward chuckled.

He carried her in his arms and placed her on the bed. He bent his legs and half-knelt on the edge of the bed, his hands propped up by her side. He looked down at her. There was unmistakable lust in his eyes. It was the most primitive desire a man would have for a woman.

She tried to avoid his hand, but it was in vain. In the end, she sighed and said, "You came back just to do have sex with me?"

He did not deny it. He unbuttoned his shirt and answered her question with his behavior. "When a man is thirsty for too long, he will lose his head. This is called instinct."

Jenna rolled her eyes and thought, "He is great at finding excuses."

Jenna was afraid of him.

She suddenly remembered the words that Rebecca told her. "The only way to beat a man like Edward is being more shameless than him."

So she summoned her courage to negotiate with him. "Let's play a game first. If you win, you'll be the boss."

The man stopped and smiled meaningfully.

It occurred to him that she was smarter.

This was not like her. She had obviously been instigated by some other girl.

Edward leaned down to bite her earlobe and said, "Okay. But if I win, I want you to pay me double."

A game.

A card game.

Watching him draw an "A" from the cards, Jenna bit her lip ruefully.

She had lost the game completely.

She questioned with a weak voice, "Did you play tricks?"

"I don't need to beat you by tricks," Edward said with a smile.

Jenna was discouraged. Rebecca had taught her a good trick to win the game. Rebecca said it was effective every time it was used on Barry.

Jenna frowned and wondered, "Why did it not work this time?"

Edward smiled and pinched her chin. "You'd better not believe what Rebecca says. She is a liar." And Jenna was the only one in the Hartman's who would be deceived by Rebecca.

She was still confused. "Rebecca said that it works for Barry."

Edward smiled with a cunning look in his eyes.

"Barry has a good temper. He always gives in to her."

He told her the truth. "I taught Barry and Andrew the game when I was young. Probably Rebecca learned the game from Andrew and thought it was magical. Poor Barry."

Jenna began to sweat heavily, feeling as if she had been struck by lightning.

She uttered, "Rebecca, you loser!"

Edward suddenly picked her up in his arms.

"You!"

He carried her to the bathroom, not allowing her to resist.

"I said that if I won, you had to pay me double."
