Chapter 4: My Decision

In my bedroom:

\~Ring\~ Ring\~ Ring

I pick up the call from Nicky

"I was about to call you." I go straight to the point without greeting.

"W-What's wrong with you?" Nicky asks

"We need to sort this thing out quickly"

"Split it out"

I then tell her the whole story

"So... for me, I'm actually fine with it, as you already knew that I'm going to study overseas next year. We can sometimes meet before I leave, and we will continue to keep in touch when I am in the other country. Just like we used to promise each other."

"Right..."

"Are you worrying about Pan" Nicky asks me without hesitate

"Why do you ask me that?"

"I know you more than anyone else at school. How can't I tell what you are thinking about? Besides, don't forget, you are my best friend. He-he" Nicky tries to make me smile with her nonworking joke.

"Right..."

"Now answer me" She is getting serious

"I... I don't know"

"Come on, don't lie to me"

"Why should I answer when you already knew the answer?" I ask annoyingly.

"Because you are so stubborn to tell what you are thinking. Seriously, not only you but also Pan" Nicky replies

"..."

"Are you mad at me?"

"..."

“Ooh\~ I'm sorry :(“ Nicky tries to apologise

“You know, I never forget Pan… But now, I think I have the answer now. I'm going to transfer to a new school next week. I think I do not have to endure this pain anymore. I get enough of it. I'll see you tomorrow”

“Alright, don't stress yourself. Bye!”

We then hang up the phone

The next morning,

“Dad, I agree to transfer the school." I tell my dad quickly when I see him coming down the stairs to the dining room.

“I'm glad that you obey my decision, child” dad responds with a smile.

"Guys! Come and have breakfast. Don't be late for school" mom shouts from the kitchen.

"I'll drop all of you to school today since I also need to talk to the school principal about your transferring application." dad announces

At school,

"I'm going to my class now, thanks, dad." says my older sister, Lily.

"Me too, bye dad!" I say to my dad before I get off the car with my sister.
