|| Pov: Amalie ||
I wasn't sure of the time, but I knew it must've been around two or three in the morning. I was laying on the cold hard floor of the cottage, not sure why I was still awake. I stared at the ceiling, listening to the howling of the wind outside, and the ticking of a clock.
I got up and stretched, wincing in pain from the bruises on my ribs. I wanted to treat it with ice but the cottage was empty with nothing as usual...
'Nala... a-are you here...?', I asked to my wolf, I could feel her weak presence.
'Yes, I am here Amalie...', my wolf replied quietly.
I was happy to know she was with me still, but I knew it wouldn't be long for she would need a long rest again, like last time. I was hesitant to ask her how she is doing, but I knew she wouldn't answer the question..
'Nala.. when do you think... our mate will find us...?', I asked hesitantly and quietly, not knowing what she would answer with.
'I hope it's soon... now I am going... be careful Amalie...', she replied before leaving.
I felt her presence leave the room and a small frown grew on my face. I sat down on the cold floor, hugging my legs and cried myself to sleep.

I woke up to a loud bang against the door of my cottage and I fell backwards hitting my head on a piece of a broken stool, I winced and wanted to yelp in pain but nothing came out. I stood up quickly to another loud bang before the door swung open. It was my older brother's who were twins.
"HEY! Amalie, the pack house needs to be cleaned ASAP! Our friends are coming to hang out for a bit but it looks HORRIBLE!", Jack said, I could smell the alcohol on his breath...
"OH! And clean our room too, it looks like a tornado went through it!", James said as he gripped my shoulder squeezing it.
I nodded and bared my neck to them before stepping out of the cottage and walking towards the Pack house. I was already trembling and I couldn't stop.
I made my way inside and started picking up the dirty laundry that was scattered across the place and started the washer. I cleaned everything nice and neat before heading up to the Twin's room. As soon as I had opened that door I smelt a horrid stench, that it made my stomach tighten.
I clenched my nose with my fingers and quickly picked everything up off the floor and put them where they belonged. I scrubbed out the soda and alcohol stains in the carpet and then finished with their favorite Pine scent.
I checked the time and seen it was eight in the morning, the time I start breakfast. I closed the doors to their room and headed down that hall passing my old room that still had my name on the door. I stopped, staring at the door for a moment then turning away and going downstairs to the kitchen.
I made a simple breakfast to start everyones day. Perfectly poached eggs, with crispy but chewy bacon, buttered toast with jam spread
evenly and a glass of milk for everyone.
After I set the table and filled the plates I rang a bell to let everyone know Breakfast was ready. I started to walk out of the kitchen, accidentally bumping into someone. I had never met them before but I presumed it was one of Father's friends so I bared my neck, bowed, and slowly passed them. I could feel my fathers glare on my back as I walked away.
"So sorry about that Alpha Marcus, she is a tragic mess, and she never checks where she is going. Shall we talk more at the table? Im sure your hungry from you early trip out to see me.", my father said, placing his hand on the mans shoulder.
"No thank you, I already ate before I left...", he said, staring as I walked through the door.
'I wonder who he was... he seems awfully familiar too me.. but I can't place my finger on it..', I sighed and looked at my clothes...
'I never changed.. I should do that now..', I thought and started back to the cottage.
