After leaving Arya's mother's house, Lea went to meet her fiance at a restaurant in downtown New York. She was ushered to the table he had reserved, but he hadn't arrived yet, having notified her he would be a bit late due to a meeting. She ordered a glass of smooth red wine and waited for him. When he arrived, her face lit up with a huge smile.
"Sorry I'm late, the meeting ran longer than expected," he said as he took his seat across from her.
"It's okay my love, I haven't been here more than ten minutes," she replied affectionately.
"Have you ordered?" he asked, his tone lacking warmth.
"No, I was waiting for us to order together," she said, her head bowed slightly.
"Is something wrong?" he inquired.
"Nothing, just a little tired," she answered, her smile faint.
"Hmm, I see," he said, disinterested.
"I was thinking of having our engagement party in your house's garden; your mother loved the idea," she said, her enthusiasm apparent.
"Do whatever you think is best," he replied coldly.
"I thought we could decorate with white tulips and tea roses, something quite clean," she continued, trying to engage him.
"Ask my mother, she'll help you with that."
"How about if you dress as a clown?" she challenged, looking him in the eye.
"If that's what you want," he answered, not really paying attention.
"Seriously Noam, you're not even listening to what I'm saying. Is it too much to ask for a bit of your attention, a little bit of love?" she said, her eyes welling with tears.
"Lea, I told you love would be impossible; you know I'm still in love with Arya," he said seriously, without a hint of emotion.
She stood up and left as he remained seated.
She got into her car and drove away as fast as she could, screaming in anger as she headed home.
"You had to come back now, I've been in your shadow for years, secretly loving him," she raged.
"That Arya, aaaa I'm so angry, she even flaunted Tyler in my face. If I could make her disappear... if he sees her, he'll cancel our wedding, and I've fought so hard to have him for myself. I can't allow that, I have to stay close to her and ensure they don't meet," she said, descending into paranoia.
"Yes, I'll keep watching her; they can't meet. Thankfully, his mother is on my side; she'll never accept a woman from a bankrupt family with two kids. Calm down, Lea, you're rich, from an influential family, and she's just an ordinary woman without status. She doesn't compare to you. I won't let you take what's mine. That’s right, Arya Liwes the bankrupt, I'm better than you, superior to you, you mere assistant. You'll never compete with me," Lea calmed herself and drove to her home.
Once Lea was gone, Arya’s mother called her to the kitchen and told her that she found Lea a bit strange; Arya agreed with her mother. She picked up the children and went home.
After tucking them into bed, she took her shower and laid down, but Lea’s earlier behavior was decidedly odd -- the way she spoke of Noam's wedding, her persistent questioning -- yet Arya decided to go to sleep since she had work the next day. Her phone vibrated, indicating a message from an unknown number.

Arya's alarm rang, and she stretched and dragged herself to her closet, where she chose a black pencil skirt, a matching silk blouse, and a pair of navy-blue heels. After lingering in the shower a bit longer than usual, she dressed and picked out some accessories. She woke up the kids and got them ready; they would be with their grandmother since there was no school. After breakfast, she put them in the car and drove to the elder's house, wishing she could stay home, but she had children to support. She stopped at her favorite cafe for a double espresso and a croissant.
She arrived at the company earlier than usual; only the cleaning staff had arrived. She went to her floor, entered her office, and printed the documents for the 8:00 AM meeting, arranging them into folders. After calmly enjoying her coffee, she walked slowly to the large meeting room, placed the folders in front of each participant's seat, then fetched the coffee cups from the kitchen. With everything set up, she returned to her small office to finish preparing the slides for the meeting presentation.
"I'm deeply moved by how dedicated my beautiful assistant is," Kilam remarked from the doorway, startling her.
"Good morning, Mr. Pagano," she greeted, returning to her task.
"My school visit is postponed for three months," he said with his roguish grin.
"Yes, sir."
