As I approached Haru and mustered the courage to ask him out, he quickly replied, "No, I'm busy," which left me feeling disappointed. But my determination to win him over wasn't crushed. I told myself, "When I have a proper job, I'll ask Haru out again and provide for us. I'll even consider adopting a daughter or son and name them Haruki if it's a boy, or Aki if it's a girl. We'll even plan a wedding."
Everything was meticulously planned for our future. All I needed to do was learn everything about Haru. So, every day, I discreetly observed Haru to ensure he'd be comfortable when I bought our future house.
I gathered various tidbits about Haru. For instance, I discovered that he liked to cover his face with a notebook when it rained because he didn't like seeing or hearing lightning. I also learned that his favorite vegetables were carrots because, in his words, "Carrots are the least suspicious-looking vegetables." I couldn't help but find it amusing.
And on the occasions when I couldn't personally observe him, I had a private investigator do the job. Yes, I had hired a private investigator to keep an eye on my beloved, soon-to-be spouse. It wasn't a problem; I simply wanted to know what he did every day. Besides, it's not like I was forcing him into anything—I paid the investigator for their services.
I even spoke with his friend, Alex, whom my brother happened to like. Strange, right?
Now, in the present, Haru was in my room, and I was thrilled. He looked incredibly cute, with his uniform and a bit of sweat mixed in. "AGHHHHHHHHH, HARU LOOKS SO FRICKIN' CUTE! HOW CAN I STOP MYSELF LATER?" I had to calm down. I reminded myself to get some juice and discuss the project with Haru. Just as I was returning to my room, I noticed Haru panicking slightly. I playfully thought to myself, "He probably got a boner. 😂 JK."
However, my brother called, wanting to pick up his collection of Alex's things.
Now, switching to Haru's perspective:
Thoughts raced through my mind. Alex, huh? I still couldn't believe my brother liked him, but I wasn't that surprised. Alex was handsome and very kind. So, even though it pained me, I decided to help my brother because helping people is what I do.
As I was about to confront Alex about someone liking him, I saw him kissing someone passionately. Panic surged through me, and I thought to myself, "Oh no, Akihiko likes Alexander. What am I going to do? Should I help Akihiko by telling him that Alexander already has a lover, or should I let him hope that Alexander is still single and assist him in confessing?"
Both choices seemed tough. Either way, no matter what Akihiko decided, he still wouldn't like me because he was utterly obsessed with someone else, and that person wasn't me.
