The Project
A new day arises and Yu Long City.
And MaZula rolls into work getting prepared to work on her personal project when she's greeted by a small female lamb that bumps into her accidentally. She drops her book and a few pens.
MaZula
MaZULA: "Oh dear, I'm sorry Dr.," She kneels down and helps pick up the dropped items.
Miscellaneous Character
LAMB: "Oh no it's my fault," she grabs her book quickly as if hiding something.
"I'm a bit clut-zy. Sometimes I think that's my power" she smiles and giggles softly.
MaZula
MaZULA: "Still, my apologies," She hands over the pens as she begins to stand.
After the short exchange, MaZula heads to her office as the lamb watches her closely. She then walks on leaving the building.
As MaZula enters her office, she hears a voice down the hall calling her attention.
Alex A. White
ALEX: Waving a bit, "Dr. Lankton,"
He stands in front of an office door holding it open.
MaZula
MaZULA: She sees him then walks over, doing a little wave back.
"Morning Dr. White,"
Alex A. White
ALEX: He shakes his head 'No'.
"Call me Alex, please," He says before leading into the office.
MaZula
MaZULA: "Oh al-alright. . . Alex," Giggling a bit at the idea.
"Call me MaZula then," following him into the office.
Alex A. White
ALEX: He sits down on the couch.
"I would like for you to meet my colleague," He gestures to the the desk.
As she looks up to the one behind the desk, she gasps a little to herself. She stood before the The head, and owner of Riley Labs.
Shaul Riley.
Shaul R.
SHAUL: He looks at her and nods.
"Good morning, Dr. Lankton,"
MaZula
MaZULA: She freezes, hearing his voice and his word. Knowing who she was and referring to her as 'Doctor'.
"G-good morning, sir,"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: He sits up in his seat.
"Alex tells me that would like your assistance on a project he recently got funding for. Good work by the way,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Of course. I always do my best,"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: "Now, he said he asked you prior to this, but you said you'd think on it. Have you come to a decision?"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Oh," She pauses.
"Well, I'd love to work with him, I mean, he's Dr. White. Besides Monika, he's the smartest animal alive right now. But my own project, Project 'E'? I can't just leave that,"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: "Well, what we can do is have Dr. Yami and I finish off whatever you need, if you don't mind,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "No I couldn't have you work on my little ol' project,"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: "Little? No that project is important to clean energy. Your brain has come up with something very useful to us all,"
MaZula
MaZULA: She blushes a bit looking down, clamping her hands together.
"Tha-thank you, sir"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: He shakes his head,
"No, thank you. So if you do indeed want to work with Dr. White, you needn't worry about your project as it'll be in good hands,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Sir, I don't know what to say,"
Alex A. White
ALEX: "Say yes to working with me,"
MaZula
MaZULA: She smiles and chuckles.
"Well I see no reason not to anymore. I'm in!"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: He nods to MaZula then to Alex.
"Alright you two are cleared to proceed. Keep me updated with this,"
Alex A. White
ALEX: "Sure thing,"
Shaul R.
SHAUL: He nods then starts working on his computer.
Alex leads out the office, and MaZula follows after. They both head to the testing room in which Alex has already set up a few things.
A male badger sits, handcuffed to a table. A few machines sit behind him hooked up via electrodes.
MaZula
MaZULA: Looks a bit surprised at the scene.
"So," her voice cracks.
"What are we doing, exactly?"
Alex A. White
ALEX: "We are going to attempt two things with our friend here."
He opens turns on a computer that's hooked up to the machine reading the badgers vitals.
"First we're going to attempt to see his mental limit before he goes insane,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Mental limit?"
Alex A. White
ALEX: "Yes. Your here to talk to him and take notes of certain things. I have already somewhat screwed with his mind a bit. So when he wakes up, he'll think the first woman he sees is his wife,"
He hands her a small book.
"Read up, this is who his wife was,"
MaZula
MaZULA; "Is he. . ." she grabs the book and looks at it. Feeling a bit weird.
"Is this a P.O.W.?"
Alex A. White
ALEX: "Yes,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Oh," She looks at the badger as he sits hunched over, sleeping.
She thought that this is not what the PowerPoint said what they would be doing.
Alex A. White
ALEX: Typing on the computer.
MaZula
MaZULA: She looks at Alex and then back to the man. Then she begins to look over the book.
MaZula sat there wondering what the hell she was doing there. The info she was given was about the study of fabrication of food for better food supplies to poorer places with starving animals. She did not write anything about mental testing. She felt outta place as she herself never studied mental, or brain science all too much. But she didn't wanna ruin an opportunity to work with Alex A. White.
So she smbegan to intently read over the material she was given to help Alex.
Alex A. White
ALEX: "The first phase will be to have you talk to him for about a week, then have him believe you have died,"
MaZula
MaZULA: "Wait what?!"
