His identity

As a sign of gratitude, the deer revealed to the woodcutter details about a pond where fairies supposedly swam and took a bath in. Grandma Amelia cuts the story short and asks Luca if he recalls anything. Does any part of the story trigger anything? Nothing stands out to Luca except for the talking deer who was able to converse with the woodcutter in the story.

Grandma Amelia resorts to a few other options to help Luca hopefully regain his memory. She shows Luca the charm that was hung on a tree in her yard 699 years ago in hopes that he’ll remember it. However, Luca doesn’t have any recollections of the charm. Luca himself is confused and wants to know why and how he keeps seeing Amelia as two different people.

Listening to Luca’s questions confirms Amelia’s doubts about his identity; she’s confident he’s one of them. He must be her woodcutter husband from 7 centuries ago. Amelia grabs his hands and cups them around her face like her husband did to her 699 years ago. As Amelia waits in tears for confirmation by Luca, Luca stands in confusion as to why Amelia is holding onto his hands. Who is this woman and what is it that she wants?

In a private talk with Luca, Amelia attempts to get Luca to remember her and his memories. She grabs his hands and cups them around her face. As she tears up in hopes that Luca will recall his memory, Luca stares at Amelia in confusion. While the camera pans on a cheerful Amelia smiling at another fairy in fairyland, a voice over from Amelia comments that immortals like her are meant to love and respect humans.

Luca wakes up late the next morning and is 10 minutes late to his class. Since he’s late, his students encourage him to cancel class anyways. However, Professor Luca gets upset and lectures the students for wanting to skip class for the day. His students take notice of his grumbling behavior.

Amelia continues to share more information about immortals: they serve deities in nature and connect deities with the human world. Immortals sometimes live in the fairy world and sometimes in the human realm. They have no greed for fortune so they are free of money, authority, and reputation. Immortals live around people without anyone else knowing, sometimes even themselves.

Julian carefully plans out his “Outfit of the Day” and searches through his closet for a shirt. As he looks inside his closet, he finds the pair of pants that he had bought for Grandma Amelia during their last interaction before she moved out of his room. Meanwhile, Luca waits for Doctor Charlotte in her office. While she stops by Amelia’s coffee shop to grab herself (and Luca) some coffee, Luca keeps himself occupied by reading Stella’s fanfic. When Doctor Charlotte finally enters her office, she hands Luca his cup of coffee which was given to him by Grandma Amelia. Luca finds it bothering that Amelia gave him some free coffee in her small little pink bottle.

Later on that day, Luca watches as Julian and Amelia have a conversation with each other at the small coffee shop. It seems like he’s not the only one who sees Amelia as a young woman and not Grandma Amelia. After ordering some coffee, Julian asks Amelia details on her barista skills. It turns out Amelia learned how to brew coffee from a fairy from Ethiopia back in the fairy realm. Julian and Amelia then solidify plans to watch a movie that Saturday. Score for Julian!
