I went up to Max's room to check why my Teo hasn't woken up yet. Upon entering the room, I noticed my child tossing and turning in bed, desperately. I quickly rushed over to see what's wrong.
No, no, no, not again. He's having a nightmare and struggling to breathe. I hurriedly take off my blouse, pick up Matheo, and place him on top of me. My child is cold and trembling with fear, crying desperately in his sleep, making it difficult for him to breathe. I start calling out to him, but he doesn't wake up...
Vicky: Matheo, my child, wake up. Mom is here. Mathi, please, Mom is calling you, my child. Come on, my love, I know you can hear me. Don't be afraid, Mom is here.
(It has never been difficult for me to wake Teo up. I don't know what's happening. I'm desperate, but I can't panic or it will be worse. So, I persist in calling him and start singing a song he loves.
...Once upon a time, watching from a distance...
...Once upon a time, looking inward...
...Once upon a time, I couldn't imagine what I missed...
...And today, here I am, looking at the stars...
...And today, everything is clear...
...From here, I can finally see where I should be...
...And I find the light at last...
...The fog cleared up...

...Now the sky is blue...
...It's real, shining like this, life has changed completely...
...This time, everything is different...
...I see the light in you...
...Once upon a time, chasing a dream...
...Once upon a time, in the darkness...
...Once upon a time, I hadn't seen what reality is like...
...She here, shines like a star...
...She here, everything is clear...
...If she's here, it's easy for me to see that this is where I want to be today...
...And I find the light at last, the fog cleared up...
...And I find the light at last, now the sky is blue...
...It's real, shining like this, life has changed completely...
...This time, everything is different, I see the light in you...
...I see the light in you...
(While I tried to wake him up, Max quickly entered, looking concerned, and approached me.)
Max: What's happening?
Vicky: he's trapped inside a nightmare, his breathing is very weak, and I can't wake him up, Max. (I tell him with tears in my eyes. Max starts talking to him.)
Max: Teo, my champion, wake up, my love. We're here for you, my child. Don't be afraid, come with us, daddy. Please, wake up, Mom is scared. Don't you want that? Come on, Teo, remember you said you'd accompany me to start the therapies with your mom today.
(Max persisted until I felt Matheo's breathing leveling with mine. Soon, my child started opening his little eyes, crying desperately.)
Vicky: (I smiled at him) Hello, my love. Good morning. It's over, my child. It was just a nightmare. You don't have to be scared, my love.
Teo: Mommy, it was that man again, the one with the voice. I couldn't see him, but he was shouting, insulting, and hitting me very hard. I'm afraid that man will come out of my dreams and hurt me.
Max: Hey, champ, calm down, nothing's going to happen. You know, now I'm with you, and with your mom's help, we'll make me walk again so I can protect you from anyone who tries to harm you. Come on, my child, give me a hug.
(Matheo got up from my embrace and sat on Max's lap. I didn't realize how tightly my child was clinging to me. Poor little thing, when will he stop having those nightmares?)
Teo: Max, do you promise you'll never leave Mommy and me, please?
Max: (Max smiled at him and hugged my Teo) Of course, my champion. I'll never leave you.
(My child clung to Max with such longing, as if Max were his father, the superhero my child has always dreamed of.)
(I stood up from the bed, but in my fright, I hadn't noticed that I was in my bra. Max stared at me with desire and lust in his eyes. I quickly reacted and grabbed my blouse to put it on. God, how embarrassing.)
Vicky: I'm sorry, but my reaction to Teo's condition was that. It's the only way to help him breathe when he panics (I said with all the shame in the world, feeling my face turn red with embarrassment).
Max: Don't worry, I didn't see anything. How about we go downstairs with Teo to the kitchen so he can have breakfast?
Vicky: Alright, let's go. My love, are you feeling calmer now? (I asked Teo, getting closer to his height, as he was still sitting on Max's lap)
Teo: Yes, Mommy. Now that I have both of you, I'm happy (my child replied and gave us a hug).
Max's Narrative:
I had never been so scared. Seeing Teo in that condition made me feel frustrated. After realizing that the child was calmer and being tightly embraced by me, I raised my gaze and there she was, wearing only a bra. Due to the shock with Teo, she hadn't noticed she was in my room. Seeing her like that made me gulp, she's so beautiful. I quickly felt my little friend awake after so many years - come on, Max, change your thoughts because you have a child on top of you - my subconscious shouted at me. We went down to the kitchen for Teo to have breakfast. Everyone was worried about the child after learning what had happened. Thank God it was just a scare.
Watching Teo eat excites me, he eats as if the food is going to disappear. Now I understand why Vicky always says it's better to pay for his studies than for his food, this child really has a good appetite.
Once Matheo finished breakfast, we headed to the rehabilitation room that they prepared for me. Honestly, I really liked the space. They built it next to the gym, and it looks very spacious, comfortable, and beautiful.
Vicky explained the whole process to me, which will consist of three stages. The first stage is the muscle adaptation stage, where we will be strengthening the muscles in my legs. Then comes the second stage of strength, which may be a little more painful at the beginning because my legs should already be awakening in this stage, meaning that my spine will start responding. Lastly, there is a final stage where I will be like a child learning to walk, taking small steps. Honestly, I am a little scared of falling, but it reassured me when she said that we have special equipment to prevent any accidents. And with that information received, we began with the first stage.
Matheo kept giving me encouragement the whole time, at first it frustrated me because my legs felt so heavy, but with Vicky's help, everything became easier. Honestly, I think the previous specialists were worthless or maybe just because it was her, I already invested all my faith.
