Leaving Loan Shark’s place, Archie literally runs into Minion. He momentarily considers the guy and then leaves. Minion has gone to see Loan Shark. He’s there to buy land. Loan Shark says that the price has just gone up. It’s probably the land that Charlie needs for the shopping mall. From the conversation from the morning. Minion asks Loan Shark what he’s going to do now. Loan Shark drinks his coffee and considers his answer.
Aria has gone to the gallery. And it’s not a small gallery either but a huge one. Riley pleasantly tells Aria to tell her the truth. Aria asks what about. Riley replies about what the truth is and what is a lie. Up until when is she pretending that she’s lost her memory? Aria’s face says that she doesn’t know what Riley means. Riley asks about the guy Aria lived with. Aria sputters over that one. Riley says that when Emma went overseas, she lived together with a French man. The rumors spread quite far. Aria looks a little sick at that. Did she end things cleanly with the man?
Riley adds that she heard that Emma was seeing someone before her marriage. She smiles – almost evilly – and says that Emma doesn't remember, right? Aria replies that Riley is correct. Riley stops smiling and asks if she should make Emma remember. They get interrupted by Stepmom and an older woman. Woman says that Emma looks exactly the same as when she was a child. Does Emma remember her? When Emma was young, they held hands and walked on the Champs-Élysées often. Woman also asks after the Assemblyman’s health. Aria says that EHDad is well.
Stepmom says that the Madam will be going shopping. Emma and Riley should take her to the department store. Aria hesitates. Stepmom asks what’s wrong. Aria says that she’s not feeling very up to par right now. Stepmom smiles and says that she should move according to Dad's wishes even more. The Madam is an important person so Emma shouldn’t make any mistakes and escort her. Aria has to agree.
She calls Oliver and tells him. He is not happy. What is she thinking?! She worked at that department store! She hangs up on his ranting. I love that she will hang up on him. He quickly heads downstairs to run interference.
Charlie is out inspecting things. Because people who run malls have nothing better to do. ‘Master’s Sun’ taught us that. Just walk around inspecting things and looking at things through a golden telescope. He’s at Aria’s old department. Obnoxious Supervisor pleasantly asks if there’s something that doesn't satisfy him? He sighs and asks what he should say. It gives off a feeling of messiness. He wonders why? Supervisor nervously laughs and wonders, too. I love that he doesn’t even know how this woman tormented Aria and he’s picking on her.
Mila says that it might because Supervisor hasn’t sorted out her heart yet. Supervisor slaps Mila in the arm to shut up. Charlie wants to know what Mila means. Supervisor says that it’s nothing at all. Claire can’t believe she called it “nothing.” Supervisor has to admit that something really bad happened to one of their employees. Mila stifles herself as she starts to cry. Supervisor smiles pleasantly and tells Charlie that he doesn’t have to worry about it.
Charlie declares that their VIP customers love the color pink, so change the front to pink and display it in different shades. Charlie walks away.
Oliver is stressing as he drives to the store.
Mila and Claire are hard at work, swapping out the clothes. Claire says that she really doesn't like rich people. If they just shop during normal hours, do they get infected with something? Why are they always shopping outside of normal hours? Doesn't Mila agree? Mila replies that she hates the ‘me’ that's poor. When she thinks about Aria, living seems so depressing. She starts to cry again as she says that even if you worked to death to make money, it's all over when you die. Supervisor glares at Mila with disapproval. Mila moans and asks why she must be working there at such a tender age to make money?
Finally they are done. Supervisor is pleased. She says that no matter how much of an expert Charlie is, he can't say anything wrong about it. Charlie returns and asks if they’re all done. Supervisor says that they arranged everything according to his orders. He sighs and says that the arrangement from before was better. He tells them to put it all back. Luca tells him that the VIP has arrived. They leave and Supervisor makes a face.
The VIP is Madam, Riley and Aria. Even though it’s night, Aria is wearing sunglasses and a big hat. When they enter, the gathered staff bows. But when they straighten back up, Supervisor, Claire and Mila react to Aria. This makes her not want to move. Charlie notices. Madam asks what’s wrong. Aria looks over her sunglasses at her friends and tries to hide her face. She wonders if she’s going to hell at this rate.
She remembers Oliver’s comment about not worrying about something she doesn’t believe in. He tells her a story about when he was a prosecutor – he was interrogating a 50 year old man convicted of a hit-and-run. The man proclaimed his innocence. But he was sweating, shaking and his eyes were flicking back and forth like crazy. Aria asks if Oliver thought the man was guilty. He says he didn’t. The ‘victim’ was trash and had been convicted of fraud 16 times. This kind of thought occurred to him at that time: Are lies always such bad things? If you take off your mask, the world will turn its back on you. He tells Aria to wear a mask! Then, the world will be on your side. Back in the present, she puts her 'mask' on.
Aria glances in Claire and Mila’s direction and they snap back into place. She walks with Madam past them to join Charlie and they leave the entrance. Oliver arrives at the department store. He hurries upstairs to find Aria in her old department. Supervisor hasn’t noticed the resemblance, but when Madam makes Aria take off her glasses, Mila leans over to Claire and tells her that she said there was someone who looked exactly like Aria.
As he watches her, Oliver notices the necklace she’s wearing… the necklace he gave Emma. He remembers putting it around Emma's neck and her smiling at him with adoration. Troubled look on Oliver’s face. Aria catches him looking and he plays it off.
