Chapter 3

Hesus closed his folder and cast a glance at his brother who tucked his folder under his arm, grinning

at Rex, and disappeared into thin air. God damn Mian, already expending energy. But who could blame him, if he could teleport, he would of too.

Too bad he didn’t really know what his powers were. Rex had foreboded him from using them on a daily basis ten years ago since the last time he did some weird shit happened. And by weird shit, he meant elements going crazy, portals everywhere, and crazy sensational pain. Some would call it "End of the World" or "Apocalyptic" material. All in all, it didn’t help that all of this happened when he went to sleep so he didn’t even know what was going on until Rex had to restrain him and literally beat him to wake up.

The only thing he had remembered was the piercing headaches after the episodes and the strong desire to search. Yep, search, like a dog, he didn’t even know what or why he needed to search but without a doubt anytime he used his powers too much the urge was unbearable. Over the years, he just ignored his powers, for the most part, just using them for simple tasks. If he hadn’t been immortal, he probably wouldn’t of survive those episodes. He wasn’t old, for an immortal that is, it had been around 300 years since he was born or that’s what Rex told him and Mian. Immortals like us don’t go through puberty until 250 to 300 years so technically in human years he looked barely 25.

Hesus shook his head to clear his thoughts and scoffed at his brother’s reluctance to control himself and ran inside the mansion to the third floor where his room was located. He grabbed his usual bag packed with his gear and then another bag with clothes and other miscellaneous items needed to conceal his identity. Just as he was about to open the door to leave his room, his life energy pressed against his control giving him the feeling of pressure within his chest. “What the hell” he mumbled and dropped to his knees. He expanded his senses for a second to search for the cause of this random increase in power.

It immediately subsided and he closed his eyes and pinched his nose as he felt a headache form. This hadn’t happened in years and the slightest bit of worry settled in his mind. He thought “I’ll have to get Rex to call Dr. Jeremiah when I get back” and he pushed himself up off the floor, grabbed his stuff, and headed for his 2014 Dodge Charger.

After throwing his bags in the back seat he slid into the driver’s seat and started the car. He quickly put the car in reverse and backed out of the driveway before he could spot Rex’s demonic form from the window of the mansion.
