Chapter 5 I am not cruel enough

I am not cruel enough

Early the next morning, Shirley was awakened by the dazzling sunlight.

Her body was in severe pain, but her heart was very empty, like a body that had lost its soul.

They had sex all night last night, but Sebastian never kissed her lips. It seemed that she was just completing the task without a trace of emotion.

Obviously they were doing the most intimate thing between men and women, but her heart was sad.

The temperature on the bed sheet beside her was gone, and there was no more sign of him in the villa. He had already left.

Shirley got up with difficulty, and managed to clean up the mess on the bed.

She didn't know if he walked too quickly to forget it, and the tie fell on the ground and he didn't take it away.

She picked it up, folded it carefully, and put it in her her snug little bag, together with the baby's photo.

"Baby, can you wait for mom a little while?" She rubbed the little face in the photo and sniffed: "Mom has worked very hard. Mom will definitely save you. Can you give mom some more time?"

Transparent tears slipped from the corners of her eyes and dripped onto the photo.

She wiped it off with her hand, and her eyes filled with countless tenderness: "This world seems to hate mother. It would take everything I have, and it even would take you away. But it doesn’t matter, mom has you. You are the mom’s most beloved baby. As long as you can live well, it doesn’t matter how wronged your mother is."

There was a stack of documents on the table.

It should be left by Sebastian.

She put the photos back in her personal bag, and then went to look at the documents.

It was the "Divorce Agreement", as expected.

Shirley looked through it roughly, and there were no special terms. They were exactly the same as the ones he had brought them a few times before.

The only thing that attracted her attention was the addition of a clause at the end of the contract: the female party have to promise to leave City H forever and not come back.

This meant he never wanted to see her.

Don't worry, you won't see me again in the future, not only in City H, there would be no Shirley in this world.

Shirley smiled and signed her name in the end.

......

As usual, she came to the hospital for a review the next day after the injection.

The doctor looked at the blue and purple marks on her neck with complicated eyes: "Miss Smith, do I need to call the police for you?"

Shirley shook her head and pulled up the collar to cover up these marks: "It's okay, doctor, how long will it take me to know if I am pregnant?"

"It will take seven days at the earliest," the doctor said: "Miss Smith, if you are still not pregnant after seven days, you must receive chemotherapy as soon as possible, otherwise it will be too late."

Shirley closed her eyes and exhaled deeply: "How long can I live without chemotherapy?"

"At most half a year. But if chemotherapy is given in time, it can be extended to 3-5 years..."

"I don't want chemotherapy, I have to be pregnant. Doctors, can you find a way to delay it to nine months? Anything is fine, and money is not a problem for me."

"There is no good way at present. Cancer will be very painful in the later stage. Many patients can't bear the severe pain and give up their will to survive. If you want to prolong your life, you have to bear it."

Shirley was relieved: "Okay, I see."

"That kind of pain is not something ordinary people can bear, and it's not an exaggeration to say that it's heart-wrenching."

"I can," she nodded, and secretly encouraged herself: "I definitely can."

The doctor couldn't bear it: "Miss Smith, you are the most cruel to yourself among the patients I have seen."

Shirley curled his lips and raised a big smile: "I'm still not ruthless enough. If I'm ruthless, I won't be what I am now."
