Chapter 17

Mei POV

Yuzu was sitting beside me talking to other members. I couldn't concentrate what they were saying, I was only giving side peaks to Yuzu as some image of her fighting, was running marathon in my mind. What the hell is wrong with me? If I think correctly now, she became way too mysterious after returning from abroad. [Detective Mei Mod On] She doesn't let me in her room nor see her stuffs, always locking her door and somehow her cloths are always a little torn when she come backs from outside. Wait! I looked at Yuzu's shirt that she was wearing, it was a little torn. It probably came from the fight she had with Siko-senpai. Why am I even calling her Senpai knowing the truth. Whatever. That tear on her shirt looked same as the other day. That was definitely a cut which comes from blade. So if I put all these clues together.......IS YUZU SOME KIND OF GANGSTAR?!!....No Mei Chill chill. It's not possible but also it could be but she'a an angel. For the time being I have to trust Yuzu. That's what friends do. Yeah friends.

As my thoughts were eating up my mind, I didn't saw that the aura around me was getting intense. My expression was also somewhat cold. 

"A-Aihara-Senpai?"-Akane said with a scared expression. I looked up at her with my same cold face and already I could see her shiver. Suddenly I felt a warmth around my hand as I looked at the person.

"Mei are you okay?"-Yuzu asked with a concerned face. I like it when she cares for me. I gave a sweet smile to her. I could see Akane giving a relived but confused 'her mood changed when you held her hand. You're life saver Senpai' expression. What's that suppose to mean? 

"I was felling annoyed cause some certain girls dragged me here without even asking if I wanted to be dragged or not. I mean I can walk for god's sake!"- I said looking at the other girls with my cold face and I could already see their 'Her expression changed in a second. No wonder she is a reptile.' expression. What is wrong with them? I gave back a 'You wanna die' expression with a cold smile. That worked pretty well.

 "And you Neko-san!"-I exclaimed as I dag some sharp gazes at her. She nervously smiled.

"I already said I won't ditch this time. You didn't have to burst into the student council room with the full gang and you didn't even tell me that Yuzu would also come."

I felt a tight grip on my hand.

"Sorry. I told them not to tell you. I just wanted to surprise you."-Yuzu said. My gaze softened. So she only wanted to surprise me. Awww.

"What the ****?! Okogi-senpai when did you became so hot that you could melt our cold prez. By any chance are you two dating."- Akane exclaimed.

"Wh-what are you talking about?"-I shuttered looking a blushy mess.

"Oh that means yes."

"N-no we are not."-Yuzu also shuttered. Why are we shuttering? Akane looked at Yuzu with sharped gaze.

"Atleast not yet."-Yuzu almost whispered. Did I hear correctly? 

"Wait what?"-I exclaimed blushing pretty hard. Before Yuzu could say anything, Himeko middled. I'm still mad at her though.

"I-I mean wh-why would we date?  It's impossible."-Yuzu said looking down. Hearing that kinda made me upset. It's not impossible.

"You know Mei Mei has a fiance, so you wouldn't have a chance anyway."-Himeko said with arrogance.

"I should say that to you Momokino-san."-Yuzu said with a smirk. Woooooooo. 

"Shu-shut up. I only care about Meimei thats all."-Himeko shuttered with a red face.

"Yeah yeah."

"Okay lets finish here today."-Neko-san said while clapping. After that we all started to exit the room. A hand pulled me.

"M-Meimei. We need to talk."-Himeko said looking all nervous. I guess I know where this is going.

"Himeko I'm not in the mood. Let go."-I said with a stern voice which made Himeko let go of my hand.

"Mei. You should talk to her."-Yuzu said as she gave me a soft smile. Eh? Why Yuzu? Are you letting me go like that? 

"Fine."-I gave a big sigh.

"I'll be in the parking lot. You two have a chat."-Yuzu said and exited the room with others leaving me and Himeko alone. 

"Say."-I said in a stern voice.

"I-i'm really sorry Meimei for the other day."

"Sigh and?"

"I didn't think about your feelings. I know you know that I have feelings for you. You still didn't change your behaviour towards me. You treated me like your best friend and I was satisfied with being your most closest friend but when Yuzu showed up, you kind of drifted apart from me. It made me lonely. I was jealous and my feeling got the best of me. Please don't hate me. That'd be the last thing I will want. No I will never want that huff huff."-Himeko huffed really hard trying to say everything in one breath.

I hugged Himeko.

"Himeko. I never hated you. I'm really sorry for making you feel that way. Even though I was actually kinda mad at you. Whatever happens you'll always be my best friend."-With that said, Himeko burst into tears. She hugged me very tightly.

"I I I'm glad. Thank you Meimei."-Humeko said making her grip more tight and tight.

"Hi-Himeko I-I can't breath."

"Oh. Sorry sorry."-Saying that Himeko quickly pulled away looking all red. She laughed and gave the most brightest smile she had. I'm sorry Himeko. I can't return your feeling. My heart already belongs to someone else but I hope someday you'll find someone who will make you smile like this always. 

After our conversation was done we exited the building walking towards the parking lot. Himeko was still smiling and laughing beside me. But I really don't want to be the one who makes her smile and laugh like that. She'll find someone way better than me.

Yuzu POV

I was playing at my phone sitting at my bike. And why I let go of Mei you ask? Well...I mean my guts told me it was the right thing to do. I know the feelings of misunderstanding by the person you love. Even if Mei choosed Himeko to be by her side, I will gladly accept it, It might be hard at first. Still I'll manage it. But that doesn't mean I will stop pursuing her now. I will not give up.

"Yuzu."- I heard a calm voice.

"Oh Mei you're here."- I said. Himeko looked happy for some reason. I guess they made up. But why do feel upset. Urgh! My crazy jealousy.

"Let's go"

"Today is your turn to wash the dishes and clean the floor Mei. Don't forget that."- I chuckled.

"You don't have to remind me. I know."-Mei pouted. Yep definitely cute.

"Yeah. Hop in."- I said as Mei sat behind me.

"Wait! What? What's going on?"-Himeko panickly said.

"Oh Himeko. I forgot to tell you. We are living together now."-Mei said will a chill tone. Not in a bad way though.

"Eh?"

"Ehh?"

"Ok. Bye see you at Monday."

As Mei said that I drove off.

"Ehhhhhhhhhhh?"

I could hear Himeko scream behind. Expected expression.

We got out of the parking lot as I took turn towards the main rood. I felt Mei's grip tighten around me.

"Mei what's up?"

"Umm..Yuzu. Why did you let me go?"

"Wha?!"

"I mean Himeko could do something to me then too."

"She would never."

"It's odd to see you trust her. "

"Cause I know She would never hurt your feelings by doing something that you wouldn't want."

"...."

"Moreover, all this years she was the one who cheered you up after what happened."

"...."

"I wasn't there."

"Yuzu."

"Hm?"

"The person I like is.."

Wait what!! I looked at my looking glass. Is it me or this car is following us?

But I wanna know who is the person Mei likes.

"She is y-"

*Ring* *Ring*

**** THIS DAMMED PHONE!!!

"Sorry Mei let me take this."

"Yeah Rycho."

"Ma'am a car is following you both!"

"Yes I know."

"What should we do?"

"I'm taking the long route. You guys follow the car and write the car number from the number plate."-I said almost whispering cause Mei was at the back sit.

"Ok!"

After that call ended. The traffic light was at red. Urgh! Bad timing. Guess I have no choice huh.

"Mei hold on tight. I'm taking the long route."

"What the hell?!!!!"-Mei yelled.

I boosted and continued to move on breaking the traffic law. An officer screamed at me but I didn't listen. I saw the car which was following us stopped at the red light but started to move again seeing us get away but couldn't. A traffic officer stopped right in front the car causing it to stop. Saved!

After a long ride we came in front of our apartment.

"Mei you go first. I have meet with a friend."-I said hurriedly.

".....Rycho-kun?"

"Yeah."- I said and looked at Mei. It looked like she wanted to say something.

"Mei what's wrong?"

"D-don't go. He is a...g-g-gangstar?"

"Ha?"

There was an awkward silence between us. Did Mei just say Rycho was a gangstar? I burst into laughter.

"I-its not funny. I mean the rip that you have on your shirt now is kinda similar to the other day when you were with him. I know I should trust you and I do but are you a part of a gang? I'm just looking out for you."-Mei said in a breath. I was trying my best to hold my laughter but ended up chuckling. I like it when she cares for me.

"Yuzu?!"

"Sorry Mei."- I said as I put my hand on her head and looked directly in her eyes.

This is the girl I love so much. A caring person.

"I can't tell you now Mei but I can promise you that It's not a bad thing. It's for your sake."

"...!"

Before my feelings could make me say the whole thing I drove off of there.

"See ya!"

"Yuzu!! I L-"

Before she could finish, her voice faded. I really wanted to know what she wanted to say and not to say that I didn't get the chance to know who the person she liked. But now I have to investigate.

It's for Mei's sake.

Just wait a bit long Mei.
