I Always Feel Sorry

Reyna was stunned, and her gaze landed on the pure white bedsheet without a trace.

There was nothing on the sheet but the color white.

Given the situation last night, she also felt confused; therefore, his suspicion was reasonable.

She once heard of this man's singular tendency.

He took special liking to virgins.

Her eyes were like flame of fire and she gritted her teeth, "Mr. Leroy, if this isn't my first time, will you go back on your word?"

She wondered why he didn't stop last night if he firmly believed that this wasn't her first time.

"I do like clean women, but last night..." His handsome face approached her with an undignified expression, "You did well. Don't worry, I will keep my word."

"Thank you." Reyna packed her bag and said, "If there's nothing else, I'll leave first. I hope that Mr. Leroy will keep your promise."

After saying that, she left without any hesitation.

As soon as she walked out of the hotel, Reyna called Ricky first and learned that his phone was off. Then she was informed by Natalie whom she called later that Ricky had undergone a surgery for more than ten hours, was out of danger now, and stayed in the intensive care unit.

Reyna arrived at the hospital and found the ward. She pushed the door open and entered. There were no other people in the room, except Ricky who lay quietly on the bed with an oxygen mask on his face. He looked tranquil, as if he had just fallen asleep.

Reyna walked over with a guilty expression, "Sorry, I..."

"Who are you?"

The voice coming from behind suddenly frightened Reyna and her body stiffened. She turned around slowly. When Mrs. Parks saw the face of Reyna, her eyes lit up with flames quickly.

"It's you? What are you doing here?" Mrs. Parks pointed to the door and said sternly, "Get out!"

It was understandable that Mrs. Parks got into such a fury, as Ricky was ruined for this woman.

Reyna stood not far from the door, and she was ill at ease, "I ... just came to see him."

"Miss Reyna, no need. My son as a victim of ill luck met you. We the Parks are not an equal to those people around you and don't want to mess up with them." The decency made Mrs. Parks suppress her wrath in her heart and she looked at Reyna coldly, "I do hope that you will never appear before Ricky again. Don't let him get hurt again because of you! Do you understand?"

If it weren't for the fact that Mrs. Parks knew exactly how Ricky felt about Reyna, she would release her anger completely.

"Alright, I promise I won't appear before Ricky again in the future." Reyna bowed deeply to Mrs. Parks and said, "I'm very sorry."

Reyna wouldn't blame Mrs. Parks for her rudeness, as it was her who brought ruins to Ricky and his studio.

She felt relieved at the confirmation that Ricky would be fine, but could not ignore the sorrow at heart.

Just as Reyna walked out of the hospital, a sharp pain came from her belly suddenly.

The pain with the burning heat sensation was so insufferable that she pressed her belly and bent down.

'Menstruation?'

Reyna took a taxi back to her apartment quickly.

Reyna knew her own period very well; therefore, she was a little shocked as her period was one week earlier this time and more painful than last time.

Reyna curled up on the bed, sweating profusely from the pain. She put a hot water bag on her belly and she felt relieved from the pain one hour later.

Reyna took initiative to resign from Parks Studio because Ricky suffered for her. Leroy was as good as his word. He paid her debt, and Jagger did not show up again.

She led a normal life again, or at least, she did not have her heart in her boots anymore.

Then her self-abandonment that night had its worth. Reyna laughed bitterly and self-deprecatingly.

She thought Leroy wouldn't disturb her anymore, as he had gotten what he wanted.

The annual music competition held by Sira School of Music came soon. Lance, as a top student of Class 2, would participate in the competition and fight against other students for honor.

This competition was important to every student in the school. And their families and friends would come and root for them.

Reyna asked for a day off from the evening shift in the Full Bloom Club on purpose and went to the school to cheer for Lance.

When Reyna arrived, it was lunchtime. Lance led Reyna out to have a good meal.

After lunch, Lance took Reyna around his school and then led her to her old school which was located next to Sira School of Music.

She graduated only two months ago but felt so different this time that it was as if a generation had passed.

Too many things had happened in the past two months and they had to grow up quickly. She knew that those carefree days at school before what happened to the Herring family would never come back.

"Reyna? What's wrong with you?"

Lance called her several times before Reyna regained her senses. She shook her head and looked up at the tall school building in front of her. She smiled and said, "I'm fine. I just miss the old days."

"Reyna, do you ... miss Bentley?"

Reyna was stunned for a moment, then she withdrew her gaze, but the desolation on her face was obvious.

"Lance, I always feel sorry for him."

Her eyes were sour and she felt difficult to breathe whenever she thought of him.

She had always wanted to make up for him, but it was too late.

Reyna calmed down a little and looked at her phone, "Time is almost up. Lance, let's go back and prepare."

"OK."

Just as Reyna turned around to leave, a white shadow flashed past her. She stopped abruptly and something came to her mind, therefore, she turned around quickly to check.

There was nothing behind her.

"Reyna, anything wrong?"

Reyna stared behind herself with her eyes wide open. She felt her ears buzzing. After a moment of deafness, she got right gradually.

She seemed to be wandering in an illusory world and even her voice carried a trace of uncertainty, "Lance, did you see anyone pass by just now?"

Lance broke into laughter, "This is a campus where students come and go. Reyna, what did you see?"

'Could it be an illusion?'

"Nothing. Let's go."

As time went by, the competition began.

Reyna sat at the auditorium and watched.

Looking at those young and unyielding faces on the stage, Reyna was a little absent-minded.

Only Lance used the instrument provided by the school, while other participants have their own instruments.

After the electronic organ left by their father was robbed by Jagger, Lance kept soothing Reyna with words like "It is alright, as the school will provide instruments" to alleviate her remorse. She knew that he was considerate.

But the instruments mattered a lot, as a musician without his own musical instruments was like a bird with broken wings.

'Lance must have a piano.'

When Reyna was lost in her thought, the first two competitions ended in applause.

"The next competition is about piano. Participants who come from Class 1 and 2 will play respectively. Now let's welcome the representative of Class 2, Lance, and he will play 'Expectation' for us!"

Amidst the warm applause, Lance walked onto the stage slowly.

Today, he wore a pure white tuxedo and long white boots. He walked to the center of the stage like a noble and elegant prince, and everyone present focused on him instantly.

No one was more excited than Reyna. Lance had been and would be her pride her whole life.

Lance walked to the piano and sat down. Then, he raised his hand and made a gesture. The lights around the stage suddenly went out, but the one above his head was still on.

His slender fingers stroked the black and white keys gently. Just as the piano sounded, all the lights on the stage were extinguished with a snap.

Everyone was slightly stunned at first, and noisy discussions followed.

"What's going on? Why are all lights out?"

Reyna was also stunned for a moment and then got up. The giant projector on the stage suddenly lit up and many sexy photos of a figure posing differently were displayed in the video.

Reyna stared at the video that was playing repeatedly on the stage with wide-open eyes. Like a bolt of thunder exploded above her head, she was struck into a trance.
