Chapter 2 continuation.

The hall in the outer house was filled with the entourage of the noble. His name was Noble Juan Eduardo. Our county sought protection from him and so he sought a marriage alliance in return.

"Lord Patrick, you have a nice manor and the service is great" one of the constables that had arrived with the noble complimented.

Patrick only nodded in reply to the constable because his vision remained on the mysterious man wearing a mask. He looked aloft as he sat down and sipped the Earl grey tea. He really dreaded for the noble who looked so young to say a word.

"Lord Patrick, I heard that you have a daughter of marriageable age" yet another constable was trying to curry favors from him or maybe they were just saying the mind of the lofty noble who still hadn't said a word.

"Hahaha. Yes I do have a daughter and she's a beautiful lass at that. Normally she greets the guest with me since her mother passed away but it seems that she is still getting ready since our guest today is a noble" Patrick couldn't believe he was following the ways of society and appraising his daughter like he would to a horse.

"We can't wait to see her. Especially his honor here, Noble Juan Eduardo who is 9th in line for the throne to the kingdom" the first constable spoke again. Patrick nodded once again and frantically looked at the door for his daughter, Brie to arrive.

The suspense in the room could cut sharper than a sword with Juan only sipping tea, the two constables constantly making miniature jokes and him, Patrick whose manor they were dining looking at the door with hopes to see his obedient and graceful daughter.

"Lady Brie has arrived!" A servant announced outside the hall and the doors were pushed open for her to enter. The full entourage members turned to look towards the door left ajar.

Brie looked at the five constables, the noble and all the other servants in the hall as they stared at her judgementally. She entered the hall and bowed to the noble before bowing to her father.

"Forgive me for being late but I had to look presentable for a noble, my apologies to you your highness and to every member of your party that travelled with you" she avoided his eye contact. She had spoken eloquently so there was no problem as of now with her confidence. Brie only hoped that the lord would overlook the amount of skin she had exposed for the night.

Her father only looked shocked by her ensemble and as Lord, he didn't know how to react whether he should be embarrassed or proud but Patrick did notice that for once since the noble appeared, his facial expression had finally changed. The noble, Juan Eduardo was no longer sipping tea with a straight face. He was smiling at Brie.
