Gateway To The Dark Lands

The opening

Past midnight Deep within a forest.

A group of delinquent teenagers, 2 girls and 3 boys were headed deep inside the forest.

A boy with a muscular physique were leading them,on his left hand was something like a stone tablet with unrecognizable words,it was the size of a notebook.

He was also holding a flashlight on his right hand lighting the way.

"I-I thi-think we really shouldn't do this"one of the girls said trembling in fear hiding behind another boy,looking left and right.

The boy patted the girls hand which were on his shoulders and said "no need to worry,we don't even know if something's gonna happen or not so just relax"

"Yeah,his right also I doubt that something's gonna happen anyway"another girl said.

"Yeah,I mean ghost and demons?whose gonna believe that?that old man must be crazy"The other boy said mockingly.

The group of people chuckled except the girl who was trembling in fear and the boy who was leading them.

The girl noticed that the boy leading them had been oddly quiet so she asked.

"he-hey Daniel you've been oddly quiet,is something on your mind??".

The boy called Daniel suddenly stopped walking so did the group

The three people also noticed this but they only kept quiet and didn't say anything

But when they heard the girl ask about it they immediately looked at Daniel

They had this weird look on their faces,Daniel was an arrogant and a cocky type of guy who wouldn't shut up and keep bragging.

So it was pretty weird to see him suddenly being quiet even after he was called,it was so weird that it was creeping them out.

But the boy called Daniel was facing forward so they couldn't exactly see his face.

One of the guys walked toward Daniel and arrived beside him.

He looked at Daniels face,his eyes seemed to have lost its color the boy waved his hands infront of Daniel

"Hey,you alright??"he asked,a little confused and creeped out.

Suddenly Daniels eyes widened and its color came back.

"uh-uh what?...huh?yeah I'm alright"Daniel said.

The boy looked at Daniel with a weird expression.

The boy stepped back,the 3 people looked at the him with a questioning look.

The boy shrugged his shoulders and shook his head helplessly,the 3 people looked at each other with a weirded expression.

Daniel turned his head a little and looked at the group and said"well then,shall we continue"he started walking but this time the group didn't follow and just stood there looking at Daniels back as he was walking.

Daniel noticed it and turned his body around completely and looked at the group.

"hey everyone don't tell me all of you are chickening out?"Daniel said.

"no- its just,you've been acting a bit weird"

"yeah,you haven't talk ever since we got that tablet"the other boy said.

he looked at the tablet that was on Daniels hands.

beside this two that just spoke the other two wasn't able to look Daniel in the eye.

especially the girl who was trembling in fear earlier,she felt something had changed to Daniel.

"ohh,I was just thinking about something earlier,so it seemed like I was in a daze,you guys don't need to worry about it"Daniel said.

Still even with Daniel reassuring them they still couldn't shake this creepy feeling.

The group of people sighed helplessly and continued walking Daniel still leading the group.

it was pointless thinking about it hearing Daniel saying he was alright was enough for them to be able to relax.

Plus it was just probably their imagination that made them think that way.

Cause no matter how you see it Daniel looked like he had returned to normal and back to his usual self.

after some walking the girl who was trembling in fear earlier said something.

"u-uh why-why are we still going deeper inside the forest?"

"yeah it's not like some monster or demons would actually appear right??for all we know we're just wasting time"the boy said.

The two people nodded,Daniel turned his head again and said"just trust me,I'm sure it's gonna be worth our time"

The group followed him for like 2 minutes.

"This should be good enough"Daniel said.

"what do you mean good enough?"the girl asked.

"ohh its nothing"Daniel replied.

The girl looked at Daniel and rolled her eyes,she knew Daniel was hiding something but didn't ask any further.

Daniel put the tablet on the ground and bit his left thumb strong enought that it made him bleed.

The group was immediately shocked as to what Daniel was doing.

Daniel let his blood drip to the tablet.

"hey,hey what are you doing?"the boy asked he was about to go straight to Daniel.

When Daniel raised his right arm signaling to the boy not to step any further.

"You....!!!"the boy shouted in fury

"Just trust me"Daniel said.

All of them suddenly thought of the same thing and that was Daniel is acting weird once again.

But they had no choice but to trust Daniel,after all the years they have been friends,and the amount of trust they have for each other's Daniel was the most trustworthy of them all,even though he was the mischievous one

They looked at Daniel and saw this face which Daniel would make if he had already decided something.

Knowing each other since kids they know exactly what this face means.

Once Daniel make's this kind of face they can't do anything to change his mind and stop him from doing what he wants.

Without using violence of course.

suddenly something shocking happened,the unrecognizable words that were written on the stone tablet.

emanated a scarlet red light making the people shock and horrified at the same time.

"wh-what the-!!"

"ughhh,what's hap-"

"ughhh!!"

"wha-!!"

The scarlet red light grew intense by the second ,the four had no choice but to cover their eyes to block the light with their hands.

The scarlet red light lasted for 2 minutes before disappearing out of thin air.
