Unwelcomed

As I have finished my breakfast, I have left my room to see around. The maids were waiting at the door and the moment I stepped outside they started to follow me, as I have expected. This was the first time I was being in another kingdom. I just wondered how people living in here.

While I was touring around, Lily was giving me useful tips about the castle. Which corridor goes to where, and which corridors needs to be avoided. After a tour in the castle, I want to see outside. It was a shiny day, and taking some fresh air after two days sleep wouldn’t be bad.

She took me to outside balconies of the castle. The balconies were connected to each other all aroud the inner castle and there were stairs in every two balconies letting go down to the gardens.

There were a lot of beautiful flowers and trees. Some of them that I have never seen in my life. I was impressed the order of the inner castle. It was way neater than ours.

I was looking around as if I am trying to seeing something. I wasn’t so willing to admit it but, my eyes were searching for the Tharon. Where was he? What was he doing for two days? Was he curious about me? I decided to ask Lily without giving anything away.

“Hey Lily, where are the other people? I mean I am not the only one in inner castle am I?”

“No my lady. His Imperial Majesty and his generals are in the study for all day. And His Royal Highness Prince Tharon at the practice grounds.”

Prince Tharon, every time I heard it I feel ashamed. I was acting him like he was nothing.

“How can I go those grounds?”

“You cannot my lady”

“Why?”

“Because it’s in the outer castle. “

“Himmpfh!” I gave out a loud breath. Then Lily seemed puzzled and said,

“You can see the grounds though; there is a balcony at the north side of the castle, directly looking at grounds.”

“Okay, that will work. “ Then we have started walking to the north side of the castle. We have seen a maid cleaning the ground of the balcony. As we were passing, she withdraw, but murmured something under her breath. I

thought I heard something like b*tch or so. I turned my head, and she looked down like she said nothing. However, Lily frowned a little bit and ordered her to go and work in another place with an anger in her voice.

“What was it?” I asked to Lily.

“Nothing my Lady. She is just an ignorant child. “

“What did she said to me?”

“My lady, I think you need to know that, not everybody is so happy having you hear. “

“What? Why?”

“Since you are the Princess of Havalin. You know, there are a lot people here, lost a family member in the wars between Havalin and Zeyda. “

I knew it was true. But it was true for both sides. There were a lot of family in the Havalin, who have lost their beloved ones in the wars. I felt furious.

“I am not willingly here? Is anybody understands that? “

“I know my lady. I wasn’t mean to upset you. I Just wanted to give you a piece of information about the situation here.”

“Thank you Lily, I am not upset. Just, I am a prisoner here and they act like that I voluntarily here. That’s kind of annoying. “

“…”

We have continued walking in silence. Than grounds seemed. It was a great point to watch grounds. Whole training grounds were in front of me. As soon as I got there, I have seen Tharon. He was topless again. Looks

like he is used to be topless. His muscular body was shining with sweat. He was fighting with two other soldier and they weren’t seem like they are training.

It seemed to me like they are trying to kill Tharon. They were not so successful on that though. He was dealing with two of them very good. I recognized that I was holding my breathe. I guess I was more excited than he is. I was silently standing and watching them, suddenly, somebody from grounds has recognized me.

He started to shouting. Isn’t she the Havalin B*tch? The other guys turned around and looked to me and they started protesting me. Me!

“Boooo, turn back to your sh*tty lands!”

“Booo!”

“You filthy b*tch!”

I froze. I knew that they didn’t like me but I wasn’t expecting to be booed.

Tharon turned to me with anger in his face and, left the grounds. Was he blaming me too? For being here?

He was the cause that I was being here at the first place.

Lilly pulled me back from the balcony and led me through the road back to the room. When we get there, I left Lily behind, and enter the room alone. As soon as I was in the room I leaned onto the door and started crying. It was too much. Then I overheard something from the other side of the door. That was Tharon.

“Didn’t I say to you that do not take her to outer castle? Didn’t I explained it why she needs to stay in? Are you hating her too?”

“No your Royal Highness, I am not.”

“Then why on the earth you took her to there?” I have opened the door at this moment. I couldn’t let him scold Lily.

“Tharon stop. It was not her fault, I asked her to take me to training grounds. “

He didn’t even looked at my face and continued his tirade.

“You are in charge of her. I made it clear for you. If you are not capable of it, I can give this duty to somebody else?”

Lilly bowed and stayed like that,

“I will not disappoint you again Your Highness.”

He turned around without saying anything to me and stormed out. Lilly and I stayed behind looking each other as guilty.

I have turned back to my room and stayed there. They have brought me lunch. But I wasn’t feeling good enough to eat. Now I was at a point of world that most revolted at me. I didn’t do anything just laid down and wonder how these days would go like that.

After a while somebody knocked my door.

“Come in!” It was Lily.

“The tailor is ready for you my Lady. “

“Let them in.”

In no time, Lily and a small man with holding a lot of fabric, came with two other maids that holding fabrics too. He have laid down all of the fabrics. But he seemed angry. He avoided making eye contact with me. And his face was in a tone of red. He started talking but he seemed he wasn’t willing to talk.

“T-these are the fabrics, ee… you can choose from them. “

I have tried to avoid him. I have touched the fabrics. They all were first quality. Like he read my mind, he talked.

“These are the best fabrics in the country. I don’t know why they bothered so much?” He gave a big huff after completing his words. It was obvious that he was one of the haters. I wasn’t sure how to response. Than Lily

retorted him before me.

“I believe you have been paid very generously for this job. If you are so proud, why did you accepted at the first place?”

“…”

His red face turned even redder as if it is possible. He was preparing an answer but Lily talked again and made him stop this conversation totally.

“One more word, and believe me I will make sure that His Highness Prince knows all.”

There has been a dead silence. Everybody including me was froze and looking each other. Finally Lily talked again and directed tailor.

“Go on; take the measures of Lady Kathleen. Leave fabrics here. As soon as she picked I will let you know. “

Tailor didn’t say anything. Came close to me with a tape measure and took my measurements for dresses. While he was doing his job, he was murmuring about my skinniness and ugliness, I have tried to avoid it too. He was hating me like the others, but he had to do that because of the Prince’s order.

I stayed in silence until he completed his job. And he left behind all of the fabrics and went. Lily has stayed with me and asked me to help choosing. I really didn’t mind about the fabrics. I asked her to choose herself for me and take all of those out. She silently did what I asked and left the room.

The only thing that I can do was sleeping so I did so. After a couple hours later, there was an another knocking on my door.

“Come in! “ It was Lily, she was seeing very nervous. My Lady, your dinner is here after you completing it I have to prepare you. “

“Prepare me for what?”

“…”

“Prepare me for what Lily?”

“I don’t know my lady. Just this is what is ordered. “

“Okay.”

I wasn't willing to cause any more trouble to Lily. They brought my lunch quickly. I had a light meal and they

took it away instantly and started preparing me. But for what? They brought my meal here, so it is not a dinner invitation. Maybe Tharon wanted to see me and talk with me? This thought was kind of warming my heart. I let them do whatever they want to do to me.

They brushed and braided my hair, powdered my cheeks, dressed up new lingerie and dress. Put on me some perfume and left me there immediately without saying anything. This time even Lily didn’t ask for staying.

It was strange. After they left, I have heard a locking sound on the door. I have checked it and it was really locked. It was weird; because it was the first time, they were locking me in.

I started to waiting patiently, I wasn’t aware the point of this waiting but I had to. In a couple minutes, I have heard footsteps outside. It was more like somebody walking up and down at the corridor.

Suddenly I heard a banging on the door. I jumped in my place. But the door did not opened. And footsteps again. I wasn’t sure what was happening but I didn’t look good. Then the door opened.

It was Tharon. I was grateful for seeing him. He was the only familiar face other than Lily. I smiled him, he didn’t smile me back. There was a grim look in his black jewel eyes and he was doubling. But I was a lady after all. I kindly saluted him and asked respectfully,

“Your Highness Prince Tharon” I bowed nicely.

“…”

“Are you okay?”

“…”

Suddenly he came at me directly and pulled me close to his chest.

“What are you doing, did you lost your mind?”

He didn’t say anything. Looked directly in to my eyes and stock onto my lips. I was devastated. What on earth was happening? I have pushed him away, but he didn’t go. He held me tight one of his arms and hold my jaw with his

another made me look directly in his eyes and he said,

“You will be mine, Kathleen Zayarin”
