The weeks went by, and there was no news from Isabella. Perhaps it was a sign that I shouldn't keep stirring everything up.

That morning, I had gone shopping as the next day I would leave for Italy for my father's birthday. But more importantly, my father was retiring and I would assume the presidency of the Salvatore Business Empire at the age of 35. The moment I had been waiting for had arrived. " Marixa, please come in."

" What do you need, Jed?" she asked as she entered the office.

" As you know, I will be going to Italy for my father's birthday. When I take over the companies, I'll need a few days to thoroughly understand the situation. I want you to come with me. I'll need your services. There will be secretaries there, but I understand each other better."

" Of course, Jed. Consider it done. I will prepare everything."

" You can leave now," he replied.

She closed the door. Sitting at her desk, Marixa couldn't help but admire the earrings. It was the perfect moment to put her plan into action. She had decided to record a video of them having sex. If Isabella appeared, she would show it to her or maybe send it to her phone. For now, the most important thing was to film herself with Jed.

Later, when the office emptied, she went to the bathroom. She put on the earrings, a sexy lingerie set, and a blazer. She knocked on the office door.

When Jed entered, he was immersed in the computer screen.

" Jed, I can't give you a present."

" I didn't ask for one," he replied.

That night, things got out of hand. It all started with the arrival of Ivone, a supermodel recognized internationally. She was spectacular, and as expected, she managed to get him to dance with her. When Victorino Salvatore saw his son with Ivone, he smiled. With a bit of luck, she would become his future daughter-in-law. That night, Jed would finish arguing with his father because of this model.

" Father, I don't want to get married. You have to understand," Jed replied.

" But you need to settle down, have a couple of kids. Ivone is the right one. I won't live forever. I want to see you married before I die."

Jed couldn't respond to such emotional blackmail.

He went for a walk on the beach, forgetting his phone. At that moment, his cell phone started ringing.

Marixa saw that the screen said "My love" and decided to answer.

" Hello?"

" Can I speak to Jed, please?"

Marixa remained silent. That voice was certain it was Isabella.

" He's taking a shower. Hold on a second. Jed, darling, you have a call! she shouted with a wicked grin. Do you want to leave a message? He can't answer right now."

" Who am I speaking to?"

" This is Marixa. And who are you?"

" I'm Isabella."

" Isabella, we thought we wouldn't hear from you again. Do you want more money?"

" Who do you think you are to talk to me like that? I want to speak to Jed."

" I am Jed's wife. I always have been. You were just one of his little sluts like all the others."

"That's a lie, I was his girlfriend," Isabella sobbed.

"You were just a little whore! And if you don't believe me, that's your problem. But to show you that I'm not lying, here's a little gift for you. Oh, and by the way, you little bitch, we're going to catch you. We're waiting for you at your grandfather's place. And if you happen to be pregnant, we'll beat it out of you, you slut." She hung up the call and deleted the history.

Isabella couldn't stop crying. She had seen Jed's possible engagement to the model Ivone on the internet, and in a fit of rage, she called him.
