"He's just so, dreamy!" Jean squealed, making Diluc curious. 'what was she talking about?' Diluc said to himself as he knocked on the door

The squeals he once heard were now gone, as the door opened, he saw Jean piling up the papers and looked very serious

"Jean, I was just wondering if you're free tonight" he asks "No I'm not, I'm sorry Diluc, I already had plans with Kaeya" Jean replied that made Diluc heartbroken

"Oh ok, I'll see you around then" Diluc said, bidding them goodbye as he rushed out of her office

"Why did you rejected him?!" Lisa asks "I thought you like him?!"

"We both know Knight Eula has an eye on him, we can't deny that" Jean responded as she continued on what she was doing

A year back ago, Jean caught the sight of Diluc, confessing his love to Eula that made her really heartbroken, and that night, she promised to herself she'll cut all connections to Diluc, she would always go out of town just so she can't see him, she would often ask Lisa for favors just for her not to see Diluc, it gives her a pain in the chest everytime Diluc barged in her office and asks her on how she's doing

Later, she received a request from the travelers that the road from Springvale must be cleared from Hilichurls, because she's the one only awake, she hurriedly went to the location where the Hilichurls will be found, she even forgot that the Dawn winery was close to where she was going

And at the same time, Diluc was on his balcony, drinking grape juice when he heard someone fighting, he didn't payed attention for it, until..

"Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. Mondstadt calls this as their Acting Grand Master? Too weak and pathetic"

Without thinking twice, Diluc rushed to where he heard the voice and now, he was standing right behind a fair man who he believes is one of the Fatui

"Get your filthy hands off her!" Diluc demanded and made the Fatui strangle the Acting Grand Master even more, Jean, now is gasping for air and helpless

"I said get your filthy hands off her!" Diluc yelled as he kicked the Fatui and rushed towards Jean "Jean are you ok? Did he hurt you?"

Just as Jean was about to stand up, she saw the Fatui, rushing to their direction and not long after that, Diluc rushed in front of her, protecting her

"Who gave you the permission to touch what's mine?" Diluc glared at the Fatui and slammed it with his weapon

In fear, the Fatui gone running away, leaving a panting Jean and sweating Diluc, because of all the commosion that happened, Jean fainted and luckily, Diluc was right in time to catch her

He brought her straight to his home, had the blanket and pillows ready, he was about to sleep when he heard Jean whispering the words "Diluc... Loves.. Eula... More... Than... Me"

Diluc was shocked "so that's why you always distance yourself from me, it's because you know I love Eula, I'm sorry if I hurted your feelings Jean, the truth is.. you're the one I love" he whispered and now is kissing the sleeping Acting Grand Master

"Sleep well my love, always remember that you, alone will always be in my heart"
