"Y/n hurry up! We need to catch boars for Xiangling so we can go back to look for my brother!" Lumine yelled at you as you started to run towards her direction "wait a second okay?! You run so fast that even I can't catch up"

Lumine chuckled "well sorry if I have long legs and can run faster than you"

You stopped next to her to catch your breath when in a glimpse of an eye, you and Paimon started to look around for her, you got worried when you and Paimon still can't find her until someone suddenly jumped your back, chuckling

"Lumine don't scare me like that!" and she just chuckled again, you and Lumine together with Paimon went walking, running and triggering enemies on your way to Liyue and you're surprised of how strong she was, you guys were following Xiangling when fate decided to test you and her, a huge flower which is called Pyro Regisvine that is in need of vaporizing, you and Paimon were scared to death, Lumine too is scared but if this is the way to reunite her with her brother then she must do it, she rushed in there and tried to fight the Regisvine alone, you saw how she rushed in there and without having second thoughts, you followed her inside and before you know it, you guys really did defeat that Regisvine, you saw yourself taking that last hit as if you weren't scared of anything, Paimon and Lumine were shocked and that made you caught off guard when Paimon and Lumine went to your direction and hugged you, enough for the three of you to fall to the ground

"you were amazing out there!" Lumine exclaimed as she hugged you, chuckling

"you just trembling in fear a few minutes ago and now we see you in that form? how long did you stop fighting at the battlefield again?" Paimon asked that made you think for a second

"and who are you up against?" Paimon asked again that completely caught you off guard and sat up straight

"Y/n let's get out quick! We need the Knights' help on this, it's too dangerous going alone" she extended a hand but silence wrapped around her when you heard a familiar voice

"Lumine? What are you doing helping the enemy?" Enemy? did he mean, me?

As Lumine slowly turn around to face her own twin brother, hint of tears escaped her once glowing beautiful eyes "w-what do you mean enemy..? No worries, w-why are you with the abyss?!"

Tears once escaped her eyes when the Abyss Herald called her own brother "Prince"

"W-what is going on..? W-why do you have an army..?" Lumine asking him and Aether just shook his head

The Knights arrived to the scene and were stunned to see Lumine's brother.. with the Abyss

"Lumine stand back!" Jean called out to the traveler but she accidentally triggered the whole abyss, now the Abyss' attention was all on her now, she's scared that's a fact but she didn't let her guard down

"I'm sorry my dear sister" were Aether's last words after the war between the Knights and the Abyss began, even in the commotion and in the middle of the fight, Lumine and Aether still remained standing, she can't understand why this needs to happen

Her own brother is her own enemy? She shook her head as well as her thoughts, if he is really her enemy then s he just can't stand like that, she needs answers

"w-why..? Y-you didn't looked for me the way how I looked every nation for you, didn't you?" Lumine asked as tears kept running down her face and as for Aether, he's just standing there in complete silence

"I've been looking everywhere for you and yet you are the leader of the Abyss?!" she yelled which made her knees feel like they're going to fall any minute

"You're wrong Lumine" Aether started

"I've been looking for you"

"B-but why did you joined forces with the abyss..?" Lumine asked once again which made Aether shook his head and stay quiet

"I knew it.. so all this time..? Y-you weren't looking for me the way how I looked for you..?" she asked once again but Aether kept silent

"You betrayed me" were the last words Lumine told Aether as she went on the battlefield, turning her own back at her brother, to help the others

With those words, Aether was filled with silence and everything came back to him, all of their memories going to world after world, his last fight together with his sister before they were separated, everything came back to him, he was back to his senses and saw every damage of what he cause because of the fight. Aether, feeling guilty, demanded the Abyss to retreat but then he realized it was too late, a familiar scream caught his attention, he slowly turned around and was shocked to see that the Abyss Herald struck his own twin with her own sword

Directly at her heart..

Full of anger, he, himself charged into the Abyss Herald, everyone's eyes were on them as they were shocked of what's happening. Barbara and Jean slowly pulled Lumine out of the way so they can heal her in every way they can do, as for the Knights and Diluc, they don't understand what's going on, they don't know whether to charge in or just let them be either, they just stood there and waited something to happen

30 minutes has pass and Aether finally defeated the Abyss Herald that killed his sister, he turned around to look for Lumine, when he realized he can't find her anywhere, someone came out of nowhere that made Diluc and Kaeya charge in front of Aether 'what are you doing here Fatui?" Diluc asked, glaring at the Fatui who sooner or later, let out a little smirk "oh so you're the one the Traveler was talking about" Childe said, referring to Aether who is now staring at his shaking hands

"Childe, it's best if you don't talk to him" Kaeya said as he noticed as if he was looking for something

"who and what are you looking for?" Diluc said out of nowhere, still glaring at Childe, he managed to speak calmly while trying to study the Fatui boy in his every move

"where's Lumine?" was the first question he asked right before he came to the battlefield a little too late. Aether in the other hand is still shaking because of what happened, if something happens to his sister he'll blame himself for it that Childe, too, noticed it

"I'm sure she's injured here somewhere" Childe said as he tip-toed to find the Deaconess whom he heard about when he first arrived in Liyue, someone also mentioned to him that she's not only a celebrity and a deaconess, she's even a healer, he excused himself from the brothers as he kept on looking for Barbara. Kaeya who's now looking at Aether, decided that he should take it easy and sit down for a while but Aether hesitated, he was so full of guilt right now and can't even face Diluc and Kaeya. The brothers just sighed.

A few minutes later, Jean came back with dried blood on her hands, her hair's a little messy and it seems like she doesn't care, she walked towards Diluc and whispered the words "the honorary knight.. she's gone"

Diluc's eyes widen, enough for Kaeya and Aether to notice them. Aether stood up and trying to gather all his courage, he spoke "h-how's my sister?" even in the tiniest of faith, he still hoped for his sister to survive that strike

But that tiniest of chance had faded when Jean slowly shaked her head, sign that Lumine's gone

Aether felt weak by his knees, he suddenly kneeled in front of Jean, he's trying his best not to cry in front of the enemies who also took care of his beloved sister, he was stunned to even move an inch, Jean looked at him filled with pity and as for Childe, tears filled in his deadass eyes, he can't accept what happened to his comrade, to the love of his life, he turned to Barbara and asked "who is responsible for this war..?"

Barbara slowly looked at Childe trying to lock his fingers to the hands of the deceased hero, full of pity in the Deaconess' eyes, she slowly sat up straight and told the Fatui the whole story

Barbara felt a hint of guilt in telling the Fatui on what really happen, now Childe was looking down, tears in his eyes and keeps whispering the words "if only I gotten here sooner"

Childe stood up, trying to activate his delusion side when he felt a hand at his wrist, he looked down and was stunned to see Lumine, coughing and smiling as if it's her last, Barbara shouted "everyone, she's awake" when suddenly Lumine stopped her, she doesn't want anyone to know except her, Childe, Barbara and Y/N, yes Y/n has been there all the time and was too dumbfounded to speak, she was like traumatized all over again. Fresh memories of her parents being killed in front of her became a fresh memory all over again, Y/n stayed silent as Lumine started to say her last wishes and goodbyes

"and finally" Lumine coughed "p-please take care of my brother like how you first accepted me in" those were Lumine's final words when she slowly closed her eyes. Childe began yelling that she should stay awake, that everyone's attention was on him "Lumine I love you, please wake up! I-i need you" Childe bursted into tears while holding Lumine's hand, he cried and cried enough for Jean, Kaeya, Diluc and the others to feel pity at them, Aether on the other side, walked towards his sister then hugged her, he was crying and feels like he wanted to rip himself off, Childe on the other hand, held Aether's collar and punched him in the face "don't you dare touch the love of my life you traitor!"

Aether can't get any closer to his twin now, now that she's guarded by a Fatui for 15 days,, he has no choice but to watch his sister from afar

While walking at Windrise, a certain flower caught his attention, he examined it a little and noticed that he was staring at a windwheel aster which are including to Amber, is Lumine's favorite flower. He stared at the flower, plucked it and afterwards started crying "Lumine I'm sorry if I'm a terrible brother to you" he then again, fell on his knees as he tried to control the tears that he wants to let out, he knew it's his fault, he knew that it's all his fault for not protecting his sister. It was his fault why he lost his sister in the first place, he tried to stood up on his feet but he just can't, all of the pain rests on his knees that made him lay down on the ground

Aether just couldn't help but cry, he doesn't know what to do anymore without his sister by his side, everytime he misses her, he would just sit at the tree at Windrise and stare at the windwheel aster while whisperings the words "schlaf gut meine liebe schwester, ich liebe dich" which means "sleep well my dear sister, I love you"
