Chapter 2 : Matchmaking

Arga is a genius doctor from the year 3000. He is very famous for his genius. Almost all diseases can be cured. Because of his genius he was called the god of medicine.

However, due to a god's mistake, he died from being struck by lightning at a young age.

He remembers nothing but his skills in medicine. He thought hard to try to understand the situation he was in.

After thinking hard for so long, memories of the previous owner of the body began to emerge. The owner of that body is called Xiao Tian, the lazy prince of the lightning kingdom, who is hated by all nobles and people because of his behavior that likes to sleep with servants, and never wants to practice martial arts.

Xiao Tian is the only prince of the Lightning kingdom, but he is not interested in politics and martial arts, only interested in Alchemy (medicine). Nothing can persuade him to give up his hobby. Until one day, he almost died from being attacked by wild animals because he went to the forest alone to look for medicinal plants.

There should be no wild animals in the forest around the kingdom, therefore he can roam alone without an escort. He was only equipped with a sword that was stored in the space ring in his right hand just in case. No one thought that he would experience such a tragic event that he had to lose his life because of being pounced on by a wild animal. The tragic incident that happened to Xiao Tian is still a mystery.

After understanding the situation, he went to sleep because it was already night, and his body still ached.

"I'd better sleep first." Xiao Tian said

The next day Xiao Tian woke up from his sleep. His body didn't hurt like last night. Stretching his muscles he said,

"Ok So now my name is Xiao Tian."

"I almost died from being bitten by a wild animal yesterday afternoon"

"According to the memories of the previous body owner, in that forest there shouldn't be any beasts, this is really confusing."

"It seems that someone intends to harm this body, but who?" Xiao Tian muttered.

While he was deep in thought, he heard someone knocking on his door. To find out who was knocking on his door, he said, "Who is it?"

After that, a young man's voice was heard from behind the door.

"Servant Taiwu, Your Majesty summons you to attend the banquet hall."

"Okay tell daddy, I'll be there after a shower." Xiao Tian said.

"Good prince, I will convey it to your highness."

"Is there still a message the prince wants to convey to his highness?" Taiwu asked.

"No, that's all." Xiao Tian replied.

"Then I say goodbye to myself." continued Taiwu from behind the door.

After Taiwu left, Xiao Tian left the room to clean himself in the bathroom. After bathing, Xiao Tian went to the banquet hall to meet his father.

Xiao Tian's father is called Xiao Zhaoye, He is the king of the lightning kingdom. A king who is not respected by the people and other officials for spoiling his son too much.

"Why did dad call me?" Xiao Tian asked.

"Sit down." continued Xiao Zhaoye while pointing downwards.

"Okay dad." said Xiao Tian politely, Because he is still not used to his condition.

Seeing Xiao Tian being so polite, his father smiled and said.

"Looks like after yesterday's accident, you've calmed down a bit."

"Good, I hope this change of yours lasts forever." Xiao Zhaoye said.

"I'll try to keep my attitude the way I am now." Xiao Tian continued.

"Good, you look like a prince now."

"Father just wanted to tell you, that Princess Jia Li is coming here." Xiao Zhaoye said with a serious face.

"What's he here for?" Xiao Tian asked.

"Son, have you forgotten your matchmaking?" Xiao Zhaoye asked.

"Ah I just remembered, am I going to marry him now?" Xiao Tian replied.

"You're always impatient when you talk about Princess Jia Li. Unfortunately she's not here to get married right now. But to discuss when the time is right." explained Xiao zhaoye while shaking his head.

"Oh." Xiao Tian said.

Not long after, a handsome young man who looked to be about the same age as Xiao Tian entered the banquet hall. The young man was Taiwu a personal bodyguard of prince Xiao Tian.

"Your majesty, Princess Jia Li and her entourage have arrived." said Taiwu while saluting.

"Let them in!" Xiao Zhaoye said.

"Very well, Your Majesty." Taiwu stepped out of the room to pick up Jia Li's daughter's entourage.

Xiao Tian kept dreaming about Jia Li's daughter whose beauty kept flashing in his mind. Based on previous memories, Jia Li's daughter was the first love of the previous owner of the body.

While he was dumbfounded at the thought of the beauty of Jia Li's daughter, a mysterious voice suddenly sounded in Xiao Tian's ear.

"Xiao Tian you better refuse this matchmaking!" mysterious voice that sounded in Xiao Tian's ears.

"What's that sound huh?" Xiao Tian thought.

"I am the God of thunder. Don't worry no one can hear me but you. I speak through my mind." said the god of thunder

"Ah I remember you were the one who killed me that time, why would I trust you." Xiao Tian said in his heart.

"By the way, it just so happens that the name of this kingdom is Lightning Kingdom, does it have anything to do with you?" Xiao Tian asked.

"It's just a coincidence, you should live as an ordinary person and stay away from danger. Being a prince is a mistake, many are aiming for your life because they feel you are useless." replied the god of thunder.

"Oh are you a careless god?"

"Why do you always make mistakes?" Xiao Tian said in his heart

"The one who threw you was the wife of the emperor of Heaven. She was the one who messed up everything and I was in trouble because I had to clean up all her mistakes," said the God of Lightning.

"Then how do you fix it?" Xiao Tian said in his heart.

"There are two ways, either to kill you and bring you back to life, or to guide you until you become strong and can take care of yourself." replied the God of Thunder.

"Then I'll choose the second one."

"By the way why should I refuse Jia Li's daughter?" Xiao Tian asked in his heart.

"That's because, he was the one who ordered people to release tigers in the forest, so that you would be harmed." replied the god of thunder.

"Why did he do that?" Xiao Tian said in his heart.

"Because he doesn't want to marry you!" said the god of thunder.

"Why didn't he just say so?" Xiao Tian asked in his heart.

"Because he is from a small kingdom, And afraid of the power of your kingdom!" Lightning God replied annoyed that Xiao Tian asked so many questions.

"Xiao Tian!" said Xiao Zhaoye as he patted Xiao Tian's back.

"What's the matter, dad?" said Xiao Tian who just realized that he had been daydreaming.

"You've been daydreaming and not listening to us. Jia Li's daughter has been calling you all this time!" Xiao Zhaoye snapped.

Xiao Tian didn't hear them as he focused on hearing the thunder god's voice. After hearing his father's words, Xiao Tian glanced at Princess Jia Li.

Princess Jia Li looked so beautiful and charming, but Xiao Tian wasn't attracted to her anymore because of the thunder god's words. He looked at her intently, ignoring the father of Jia Li's daughter sitting in front of him.

"So this is Jia Li's daughter, she is indeed beautiful, she deserves the owner of this body to like her. But unfortunately her behavior does not match her appearance." thought Xiao Tian as he looked down at Jia Li's daughter with a condescending look.

"How dare he look at me with that look, I'll do everything I can to finish you off!" thought daughter Jia Li

"Oh Prince Xiao Tian, I'm here to discuss our matchmaking." said daughter Jia Li with a smile.

"I'm sorry, I think we'd better end this matchmaking." Xiao Tian said.

"What do you mean?" asked Princess Jia Li.

"Am I not clear?" Xiao Tian asked.

Princess Jia Li was silent because she didn't understand what Xiao Tian was saying.

"I reject this matchmaking, just pretend this matchmaking never happened." Xiao Tian said.

"Hey kid what did you just say?"

"Aren't you the one always asking to be paired with him?" asked Xiao Zhaoye who was surprised by Xiao Tian's words.

"I changed my mind dad, I don't like him anymore, so just stop this matchmaking." Xiao Tian said.

"What happened to this loser?"

"Hasn't he always wanted me?"

"Why did he reject me?"

"Does he know that I was behind his accident yesterday?" said Princess Jia Li in her heart.

"Princess please don't be offended, after yesterday's accident the prince still can't think straight." Xiao Zhaoye said while trying to lighten the mood.

"It's okay, your highness, if the prince doesn't like this matchmaking, we'd better stop it." said Princess Jia Li.

Hearing that his daughter wanted to cancel the matchmaking, Jia Xin held her daughter's shoulder and said.

"My daughter, you can't do that. After all, this matchmaking is very beneficial for both parties, So I suggest that this matchmaking be postponed for 3 years, so that you get to know each other, if in 3 years you still don't like each other, you can cancel this matchmaking." said Jia Xin.

"Okay dad." said Jia Li.

"Marriage can indeed be postponed for 3 years, but they can be engaged first so that nothing will interfere." said Jia Xin as she looked at King Xiao Zhaoye.

"Son, you're okay with this, right?" asked Xiao Zhaoye as he glanced at Xiao Tian.

"It's up to you, but as long as you know, I will never fall in love with him." replied Xiao Tian leaving the banquet hall.

"Son, please watch your mouth!" Xiao Zhaoye snapped.

"It's okay to leave the prince alone, maybe he is still thinking about yesterday's accident." said Jia Xin.

"Thank you for understanding sister Jia Xin." Xiao Zhaoye said.

"You're welcome Brother Zhaoye." said Jia Xin.

"Is it just me, or did the loser turn out to be more authoritative?" thought Jia Li's daughter.

"Then I say goodbye to my resignation, I entrust my daughter so that I can know the Prince more." said Jia Xin as she stood up from her seat.

"Dad, but you didn't say I had to stay here!" said daughter Jia Li.

"Don't worry, Dad will come back tomorrow with a larger group." said Jia Xin.

"But for what?" asked Jia Li's daughter.

"For your engagement, of course." Ji Xin replied.
