Flashback

Ashley couldn’t sleep as everything kept running through her mind. Her past and how she ended up where she was now.

Ashley grew up in the orphanage She was left there as an infant with no identification. Mother Edna named her after the ash grey eyes that she had. She grew up mothering the other children and helping Mother Edna around the orphanage. It was hard work, but Ashley loved to play with the children and see them smile.

When she was 9, she had found a boy crying at the edge of the forest that surrounded the orphanage

 Seeing a hurt child, she took him to Mother Edna, where she helped bandage him up. He stayed there for a week while Mother Edna went through connections to try to find out where he came from. The little boy was David. He stayed by Ashley the whole time and refused to leave her side. When his adopted family found him, she found out that the adopted father’s brother had kidnapped him. David had managed to escape, but got lost in the forest when Ashley found him. He swore that when he grew up that he would come and find her to marry her.

It was a children’s promise, but Ashley kept it in her heart for years. Even as she grew older and got into high school, she kept away from other boys and waited for David to come find her.

When she was a junior in high school, Mother Edna came to inform her that her biological family had come for her. Ashley didn’t know the whole story until later, but they never had good intentions towards her.

Ashley’s father, Richard Moore, had an affair and Ashley was the result.

Her father’s wife, Edith, was a jealous woman.

She had poisoned his mistress. Ashley’s mother stayed alive long enough to give birth and take her to the orphanage, away from Edith. Richard knew about the child, but he never cared enough to find her. Edith had no knowledge of Ashley’s birth and soon gave birth to a daughter, Anna.

It came to light that the Liam family and the Moore family had an agreement to marry the children. David was the only child at home as the biological son had run away. He did not want to be a businessman, and his mother Greta made his life hell. So he had run away to become a doctor. Even though David was adopted, he was adored by the Liam family and was a business tycoon.

Anna didn’t want to marry David. The rumors of him being cruel and ruthless were abundant. Edith didn’t want such a monster marrying her daughter. That was when Richard finally remembered Ashley’s existence and sent investigators to find her. To the two of them, Anna was the only child that mattered. She didn’t want to marry David, so he had to find an alternative.
